- Sorry about the lack of video. Project has now moved primarily towards software and development of the time so while this is just a video to show the light the software has gone through multiple revisions and still continues to mature.
I will be once the software and app are finished...the hardware is complete...

My brother is currently working on the software, communication protocols to be exact. Stable comms has to be established first. There isnt any point in shipping anything if it doesnt work correctly out of the box. As the light has been designed from the ground up he has had to create his own software comms stack for communication. We literally have 2 units (the one in the picture which i have and one that he has. If i were to send you mine, you would need a laptop with the light at all times to get it running once the ignition has been turned. I am sorry its taking so long but im trying to leave him to it as he has a day time job also. I have reiterated that i want to take a light to the TT this year so im waiting with you.
Final stages. Hardware finished. He's currently coding in all of the pre programmed sweeps. Hes still fighting against the android programming language. The other thing is the look and feel of the app. We agreed on a type face....hes laying it all out. I know i always say hes busy but he really is, hes got some personal stuff going on at the moment....nothing bad, just stuff that takes him away from the project. I noticed on my last video (about the light) the comments were switched off - wasnt me... i wondering why i got no replies!.....it was you tube not me...it think cos i mentioned the you-know-what word.....!
Final testing will be on my zed which at the moment is lying over the otherside of the country with a front end smash so im waiting to get it back and start work rebuilding it....
No. I didnt but I know who you mean... Mine is wireless. Went quiet for a bit but, were just working on a 3d printed replacement case to save splitting the oem light up...
Feels like it....brother came round with the dev board last week.....half of his problem was using an actual unit to code the app on. All the units we had were hand made. No offence to the guy that built them up but it looks like because the design is so compact they will have to be built by machine. Every time he though he had a coding problem half the time it was the hardware - the dev board is massive compared to the final unit but it serves a purpose for getting the app complete. I have to fix my tablet then he'll send over the app (as far as its completed) then ill do a vid but theres no gui at the moment...well, there is but its very basic. He was over my house yesterday and said that he's fighting against the android operating system....even the simplest of things are a fight to complete.....for example, just to get the light to remember the last setting it was on took him weeks to get right. As ive said time and time again, he has a normal job but works for himself so he has to give priority to earning money to live. He's spent literally hundreds of hours developing it off of his own back. sorry about the wait.
don't make this so complicated. Parking light white, and then the option of the color selectable me one no selectable!
Still got my Z1000, I can be patient, nice that you and your brother still working in it.
@@CM-ke3vt Yep....its kinda a sideline project - as ive said before its something he does when hes got some spare time - he works for himself so his primary job has to be his number one priority as thats what puts food on the table. Looking back one of the things that was our mistake was using an actual unit as a dev board - everything is packed on there so tightly there were hardware issues which he thought were software issues that slowed everything down....alot! - so we have a dev board each - he was over just before xmas (lives about an hour away) to grab my board and do a few firmware updates to it. I believe 90% of his time is now getting the front end ready (the 10% for the odd few firmware updates) - the other thing was the original batch of units were hand made - whereas moving forward when its complete we`ll have them manufactured by machine....i wont say its almost ready due to the time its taken already but you can see from above how far its come....
when can we finally buy the light?

Anthony Mascarenhas Ok. At the moment you will have to split your light but I'm looking at a 3d printed replacement but that's in the future .....
and now the light is ready or is it going to market when a new model of the Z1000 is available?

how did you open the sidelight????
I used a dremel to cut round it. Don't use a rubber wheel ( it'll melt ) use a metal disc...I used a woodworking one...
