But that also means that even without Crits, she deals very respectable neutral damage. -Her Traits are one of the most useful, effective, and splashable in the game considering how abundant Ailments are (especially against a certain Chainsaw Loli, again). -When Crits aren't an option (which essentially leaves the Skill Accessory Slot free), Salvation Crown + Icy Glare/Cool Customer combo makes her one of if not the best healing teammates. -And let's suppose for whatever reason she can neither use Gun, nor Psy, nor Heal, her Life Wall is a top-tier skill and is a role that even Joker can't fulfill. And regarding your last point, to me, using Joker for Healing is such a waste in itself considering how he's BY FAR the biggest DPS on every aspect. He is the DPS by such a large margin that in most cases, it makes the damage coming from teammates almost secondary, a cool addition. I often see more value in using a teammate's action to support Joker's next attack rather than damage. So to me, the best way of surrounding Joker is not by simply going by "who is the hardest hitter" (honestly they all deal decent damage one way or another), but more like "who excels at supporting him and additionally has a nice offensive presence". And that's the reason why I have Ryuji, Ann, and Haru as S-Tier team members, and also why I value Yusuke's Hyakka Ryouran more than raw damage as it actually frees up Joker's Turn where he's supposed to use Thermopylae for example. I consider all teammates viable (which wasn't the case in Vanilla) precisely because Joker as the Wildcard is so overly broken on all aspects that he can make everyone around him work perfectly fine. I honestly very rarely use specific teammates out of necessity, it's almost always because I love them and want to have fun with them. And also, it feels right to me that everyone gets involved since it's everyone's fight, lol.
@@icetmdabss3501 youre so unbelievably based for typing this out. swapping out party members and using them all is where i get my fun from each playthrough; its really sad to hear some people spreading stuff about certain characters being better than others, especially when theyre all so dang versatile! i always build my characters around being masters of all trades because P5 (royal) is generous enough to allow characters to perform a bunch of different roles, like morgana as a healer and damage dealer.
In my first playthrough I ignored Akechi so I never unlocked the jazz club for the entire game and my dumb ass was like “damn it’s taking a while for this place to unlock” 💀
For Yusuke one of the best weapon for most of the game is probably the Senryou Takusha R which you get from executing Ame-no-Uzume during a alarm because it gives +6 to strength and that means because of a bug it actually gives +12 which is a huge difference
ow man this kinda takes me back when I got into JRPGs with P5R last year. I watched your videos towards the endgame for making builds and taking on superbosses.. Keep doing the good work man and hope people enjoys this awesome game.
Great video. Haru's arguably the best team member in the game imo. Mostly like you said for all of the great options she has access to. Technicals (especially through Rage), Crits, Support through Life Wall, Salvation Crown,... Extremely splashable and goes in a lot of team compos. Also, I agree on some of your points about Mona, but that kinda doesn't tell the whole story. Just like with Ryuji and Yusuke, Mona and Makoto benefit from a great synergy alongside Ann based on Burn exploitation, so it's not always one or the other imo.
Flash bomb for makoto is really good as well since dizzy fills the same role as sleep. Give her dizzy amp from iwais shop and she'll becomes a better ann later in the game
My main reason to choose Makoto over Morgana as the party healer is that Morgana is extremely squishy and my entire first playthrough I had issues keeping him alive and when you get her, she comes pre-equipped with Diarama. The second reason is Ann is usually my first pick for a party member because her crazy high damage, especially if you buy her the Fire Amp accessory from Kichijoji, I've seen her rival Joker in damage (however, if you use the Fire Amp accessory, keep Fire Break on her), and she has insane synergy with Makoto because of Makoto's trait (like you mentioned in the video).
You are absolutely right about atomic flare not being a worthwhile change from freidyne, however I grab it every single time because that animation is just so good. Though I typically bite the bullet and keep both for when I am strapped for sp. Probably not now though because I’m now on my third playthrough so I can just buy all the crazy sp regen items and it’s fine
I really wish they allowed you to use Akechi and Kasumi more... I don't regret buying Royal but after being promised a "new thief" I couldn't help feeling a bit let down by them being locked to post game only.
You can also choose to omit the charge/concentrate abilities for party members by abusing Haru’s vegetables or the will seed accessories. If you work hard enough to remember when you have to pick them up every time to maximize the amount you get that is. It may not be optimal to some but it’s still an option.
@@Manavine the SBR is honestly a more worth it accessory than the SP Adhesives considering how early and easy to trigger the alarms are, and how the +6 in all stats is a really nice addition especially early on.

Look forward to seeing more content from you in the future! :D I'm glad to know that in the ~400 hours I put into this game, I was doing more or less the right thing haha. Morgana should be the main healer in my opinion, because then Ann and makoto don't need to worry about that as much and since they have alot of useful skills they need to learn I think it's just the better way to make the most out of everyone.
@@rawflour6757 Exactly and it worked out perfectly for me. I love using the sword guy, the cute little guy if there's one, and the healer in an rpg so the fact that he was all three made it super easy for me to keep him in my party. Plus paired up with Makoto I had very little trouble getting through fights except for one but Okumura's poorly designed as a boss.
@@alexmaganda5827 he's such a coinflip. I stomped him first try, then I had to redo him to reset a romance choice (last save was before him) he then stomped me and basically timed me out and then the attempt right after I got him in like no time at all again.
Honestly when you're in the parts of the game where you have to rely on teammates a lot and don't have an overpowered persona set up for Joker it's mostly synergy and equipment that make dungeon runs easier. Because unless you already have everyone's endgame weapons or whatever the weapon passives would probably change a bit during your playthrough. Excluding that just basic-intermediate knowledge of the game will make things so much easier. Like if you're using a character like Ann who can inflict burn make sure to pair her with someone like Morgana or Makoto who can make a technical out of it etc. Also if you read all the books in Jinbocho you can read a book that will let you expand technicals. One example is being able to use zio skills to trigger technicals from forget. Makoto and Ryuji are a fun combination like that. I think regardless if you're gonna plan out a build or not you should definitely try and unlock the technicals book, it definitely opens up more viable options for team comps or makes already existing ones you use even better.
I will be triple dipping with the Switch port(My Amazon package is late). -I didn't know about the confessional in the chuch. Nor have I paid much attention to their passive skills Morgana is far too frail later on to be a decent healer in battle. Between Makoto and Ann( with her high magic stat) are usally good enough.
Don't take it the wrong way, but that's way too theoric actually. Raw stats are only a small fraction of the whole equation when it comes to damage in this game. Even though Morgana has factually lower HP base and En stat, it doesn't translate exactly the same in game, especially later on. I personally tend to switch team members around a lot for fun, and from my experience, I never really felt the need to heal the team earlier or more frequently because of Mona specifically. That's because there are so many factors such as Buffs/Debuffs, potential evasions, regular AoE healing, damage taken proportionally reduced due to higher Lvl (which is the most important factor of all when it comes to damage taken/recieved), Futaba's interventions,... And even if Mona is overall less bulky, by end game, neutral damage taken will almost never force you to heal before you should or want to, and Weakness/Technical/Crit + 1More's will force you to heal anyway, but that's the case for any character (Joker included), especially in Merciless. And he has a lot of good stuff going for him besides healing. Wind is a very efficient affinity, and from my testings, consistently outdamages Fire/Ice/Elec/Nuke/Psy on Neutral/Technical/Weaknesses (albeit slightly), has a very solid offensive stat to go with it, Miracle Punch is top tier for Crits and almost reaches the cap without Apt Pupil, his ultimate gun has High Dizzy (speaking of equipments, with his ultimate armor he can resist Physical skills slightly better than Makoto even with ~40 En points less lol),... And even if we grossly consider him as a healer and nothing more, he's the best at it and makes everyone around him more effective at that for a good chunk of the game (even arguably trivializes Mediarahan tbh), and by endgame, he gets Salvation which is the ultimate healing skill. And even tho it's costly (for a reason), you get it by end-game, and between his 3rd Awakening's Trait and all the SP ressources you must have by then, it's barely a concern.
@@icetmdabss3501 most of the time an enemy gets a one more on Morgana, my joker does because it's always an aoe spell (I am not good at making personas) and I was slightly low. may just be me tho. I wish he didn't have a lighting weakness so he'd stop reminding me that he has less hp by dying in 2 turns. This is my first time playing, but he's a little too squishy for surviving a weakness one more without a buff/ debuff. He is really good at healing tho (god I wish he had high dodge so I could make me a dodge tank, my favorite type of bulid) so I run him a decent amount anyway
I tend to use party members that contribute to the story arc of each palace. For example, in the bank I like to include Ann because of how harsh she's been towards Makoto, and in Haru's dungeon I tend to use Morgana. Naturally I swap out for bouncing levels, but it just feels right by the way of principle
Me: I beat P5R 2 times with a total of 300 hours invested. I already know the best strategies and builds. Random recommendation from TH-cam: Want to know what are the best strategies and builds in P5R? Me: Oh! I wonder what they are?
i wish i knew that jazz jin grants your party member new skill(s), i realized it too late at 3rd semester (damn im dumb lmao), got to put more efforts on building NG+ party members! thanks for the video
Well, I would say if some players are Morgana fan. Discard Mediarahan and use Salvation alone is better. Rather than wasting a slot for carrying both. Morgana have high SP pool and SP items are easy to find in this game.
imo best ng+ super boss team is sumi ryuji and either yusuke or haru until end phase then switch to yusuke cause they do so much damage, throwing status infliction items letting you skip over that part and yusuke's trait neutering the end phase counters to almost never hitting. though if you want to use this team it needs 3 things, salvation crown so sumi can heal the party, debilitate on yusuke and either neo cadenza or the max hanged man for the vitality of the tree combo.
The Twins were honestly a harder boss than lavenza The fact she can get hit with a critical hit and you have access to sumi a physical team literally just shred through it on merciless But then again I did beat the twins with a level 30 party and a little bit of AI manipulation to have them Target the other party numbers I said that I say the super bosses aren't much
I definitely keep Haru around for her trait whenever I'm up against enemies that can confuse you. I think we all know the strat of making bank with confuse even if it got nerfed in Royal. It's physically painful to me when enemies use that strat and my characters start throwing away over 100,000 yen a turn.
yeah honestly I just use all my favourite characters, if available Violet, Crow, and Skull, if not Skull, Mona and who ever is good at hitting weaknesses in the current section.
I know you said the the SP Adhesive is the best but honestly SP items are quite easy to get in Royal (Not saying it’s a bad Accessory) The Black Moon R (DLC) Gives 8+ Str and Apt Pupil which is REALLY great for Any physical character except for Violet. Plus a lot of the Will Seed accessories (or Sin Rings if you will) are really good too. The ring of vanity is great for Joker especially. But hey just food for thought.
Having played the game, Skull's high Strength and very high health and Panther's high Magic and 12-round SMG made them the most useful members of the team to me. It was even better that those two learned Charge and Concentrate (although Joker had them by Futaba's palace) If you're having trouble on Merciless, Kotone Shiomi's Orpheus is fusible at lv11 and has the most monstrous support skill in Neo Cadenza. Eventually it'll need some time in Lockdown to boost Agility but it's totally worth it.
Dope video! I have been playing jrpgs for a long time but i'm just getting into atlus games now. It's funny you said you had no clue what Dio, Tarukaja etc.. were when you started because i'm playing P5R remaster and SMT3 Nocturne at the same time and it's been very informative experience for me so far in terms of how to use spells effectively and turn management. I just subbed. Dope content and keep up the good work.
Yusuke should keep Deadly Fury, it gets stronger than Brave Blade after Baton Pass Edit: Akechi beats Sumire in terms of physical damage. Laevateinn has higher damage due to not having a crit rate, and can oneshot the level 99 fight against Yu, whereas Sumire cannot and needs to equip the God’s Hand belt to come close.
It's actually slightly worse than brave blade because it is missing the high crit chance. Yusuke's baton pass skills go up in "rank" after a baton pass. So severe becomes colossal.
These are nice 'suggestions'... but but I'll stick with the super casual approach. It worked extremely well for me with my first P5R play through earlier this year
Hey man can you help me with a question? Is psy the best element for technical dmg? Cz I’ve been watching videos and noticed that raoul with psycho blast does 40k+ with psy and 20+ with almighty (both tested in ailment hunter trait)
Man I played vanilla and Royal twice but never managed to max rank every party member. I feel like the game just doesn't give me enough time even on New Game +.
Idk if its been said yet, but makoto has a specialty skill called "checkmate". Which works like debilitate but on all enemies. Is there a reason you didn't include it whatsoever in the vid, or did you just forget it or smth? Well, i should say, you didn't talk about it, but it does show up in the video.
It's only available in the 3rd Sem and costs 90 SP. You're not using it in random encounters and most bosses are single target (so the 30 SP Debilitate works the same). It just doesn't have much actual use
Everyone is very viable in this game but if your going for the best of the best here it is. top tier. ryuji, yusuke, akechi, sumi and haru borderline top tier. makoto and ann low tier. morgana top tiers are obvious cause they have physical attacks and physical is just omega strong for 2 games straight along with some of the best traits, elements, best ultimate personas and the best debuffs/buffs though yusuke only joins the good buffer gang if you give him debilitate(which hes the best choice for) or until part 3. makoto is borderline cause shes the best healer and has the best buff skill with defense buff but her damage is kinda low and what shes good at she gets replaced by characters who do her job better with savior crown and the busted buffs of third semester/vitality of the tree trait. ann is good and her attack debuff along with trait to reduce sp are both really good but fire is one of the rarer element weaknesses. morgana is just a bad version of makoto with the worst debuff skill and like ann wind weakness just doesn't show up a lot compared to the other elements.
This is what somewhat annoys me with persona.... the 8 ability limit with personas. Especially knowing MC can also use thesr abilities i always frustrate myself with setting up party members' final "loadout"
Hey Bainz! Could you make a frenzied bull Asterius build with almighty or fire skills? I wonder is he stronger than InO since frenzied bull doubles the damage under %50
Hey sorry for the late reply, but Asterius trait and InO trait have the same effect if you're below 50% and have compendium maxed, so the damage would be the same
Hi, I’m pretty new to the game and was just wondering if you could answer something for me, at the end of the skill tables for some of them it says stuff like (1/15). Are these dates to hang out with them and then they just automatically unlock those skills? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out :) I realise you may have said so in the video and if so, sorry, I’m hard of hearing and can’t always tell what people are saying. Thank you again.
The dates like (1/15) mean the days you can take the character to the Jazz Club, where they will then learn said skill. So if you take Yusuke to the Jazz Club on 9/4, he will learn Charge. The Jazz Club unlocks after getting Akechi to Confidant Rank 4
anyone have a beginner friendly explanation? i dont understand jackshit about that table he showed everytime. all i do rn just screenshot the skill that he has and try to replicate it later in the game when i can (im lvl 40)
The numbers in the () refers to what level you learn the skill or if it’s from maxing the confiant (C10) or if it’s a 3rd semester skill (3S) The dates you can learn the recommended jazz club skills are on the far right which are also in () and of course the information on the characters trait is on the left. Hope that helps
NG+ you can use anything cuz you're so overpowered compared to what you're facing. If endgame is the last Palace, prob just Kasumi + a healer + someone like Ann/Haru/Ryuji/etc

@@icetmdabss3501 youre so unbelievably based for typing this out. swapping out party members and using them all is where i get my fun from each playthrough; its really sad to hear some people spreading stuff about certain characters being better than others, especially when theyre all so dang versatile! i always build my characters around being masters of all trades because P5 (royal) is generous enough to allow characters to perform a bunch of different roles, like morgana as a healer and damage dealer.
this game is a joy to minmax, and to that end I doubt there are better resources than your guides. thanks again!
Bainz voice real! Great video, audio sounds good!
YEA SOME LOVE FOR HARU
Not only is she viable like everyone else she’s just a joy to use
i mean she's kinda just the strongest
haru goes crazy
Yes, I think she's the only party member I've always kept in the team
i had ryuji use a charged heat rizer'd gods hand on the final boss, halved its health instantly. my jaw dropped.
Big damage for no reason
Ryuji and Yusuke are a must at my party
In my first playthrough I ignored Akechi so I never unlocked the jazz club for the entire game and my dumb ass was like “damn it’s taking a while for this place to unlock” 💀
For me, I just never hung out with Akechi, I would always get his messages a day after
The Persona Archon is back! Voiced format is top-tier
Ew
A perfect start for my Persona 5 adventure! Thank you ❤️
For Yusuke one of the best weapon for most of the game is probably the Senryou Takusha R which you get from executing Ame-no-Uzume during a alarm because it gives +6 to strength and that means because of a bug it actually gives +12 which is a huge difference
ow man this kinda takes me back when I got into JRPGs with P5R last year.
Her and Ann combo well. Ann has a gun that inflicts brain jack.
@@hersh1138 definitely. They're also the hardest hitting pair in the game by exploiting Rage through Psy and Fire lol.
I took Ann to the jazz club every time there was a luck boost. She can reliably put multiple mobs to sleep for ez technicals
I used makoto, ann, and morgana for the whole game
Getting this recommended 6 MONTHS later but thank you! And loving the voice commentary!
For new game plus, every character should be available from the start. I'm glad it was done in Strikers
PC version, mods bro
@@BitchChill
That was great direction they went with for Strikers. Zenkichi has way more playability than Akechi & Sumire combined.
You can also choose to omit the charge/concentrate abilities for party members by abusing Haru’s vegetables or the will seed accessories. If you work hard enough to remember when you have to pick them up every time to maximize the amount you get that is. It may not be optimal to some but it’s still an option.
Those "great vegetables" were a fine edition to Royal. Item supports are so good, I think you can have an "infinite" amount with Ariadne's trait.
@@ColeMeCrazy you can but only after a baton pass
For the Shiny Belt R you need to fuse Izanagi-no-Okami (DLC) into an item DURING FUSION ALARM.
which is ludicrious to ask compared to just rushing Takemi
@@Manavine the SBR is honestly a more worth it accessory than the SP Adhesives considering how early and easy to trigger the alarms are, and how the +6 in all stats is a really nice addition especially early on.
Really nice video! Glad to see you do voiced stuff! Look forward to seeing more content from you in the future! :D
I'm glad to know that in the ~400 hours I put into this game, I was doing more or less the right thing haha.
Also really glad to know someone else had the exact same idea for what the best team for Lavenza is 😤
Morgana should be the main healer in my opinion, because then Ann and makoto don't need to worry about that as much and since they have alot of useful skills they need to learn I think it's just the better way to make the most out of everyone.
You are right he is the best healer on the team with miracle punch and it's buff
@@Cloud-dt6xb I feel you Okomura is even worse in the original P5, royal upped it a little
@@rawflour6757 nah he was a joke in the og p5 lol hes ennoying af in royal though
Good video, love Makoto the most. The best character to use
Morgana was my healer for my first run thru, but im definitely gonna try other team comps for new game plus. Thanks for the vid!
I will be triple dipping with the Switch port(My Amazon package is late).
-I didn't know about the confessional in the chuch. Nor have I paid much attention to their passive skills
Morgana is far too frail later on to be a decent healer in battle.
Great to see another video from you
I tend to use party members that contribute to the story arc of each palace. For example, in the bank I like to include Ann because of how harsh she's been towards Makoto, and in Haru's dungeon I tend to use Morgana. Naturally I swap out for bouncing levels, but it just feels right by the way of principle
Wow this was useful. I never actually thought about any of this. Now I can make a better team. Great video bro
Yknow yesterday i just upgraded ryujis moveset for the solo ryuji semi challenge (cuz its NG+) for palace 7 and beyond
Bainz is back!
Well, I would say if some players are Morgana fan. Discard Mediarahan and use Salvation alone is better. Rather than wasting a slot for carrying both. Morgana have high SP pool and SP items are easy to find in this game.
Loki going from a like c tier persona to his evolved form which has the best damage in the game
imo best ng+ super boss team is sumi ryuji and either yusuke or haru until end phase then switch to yusuke cause they do so much damage, throwing status infliction items letting you skip over that part and yusuke's trait neutering the end phase counters to almost never hitting. though if you want to use this team it needs 3 things, salvation crown so sumi can heal the party, debilitate on yusuke and either neo cadenza or the max hanged man for the vitality of the tree combo.
The Twins were honestly a harder boss than lavenza
The fact she can get hit with a critical hit and you have access to sumi a physical team literally just shred through it on merciless
But then again I did beat the twins with a level 30 party and a little bit of AI manipulation to have them Target the other party numbers
I said that I say the super bosses aren't much
I only played vanilla P5 but in that Joker aside, Morgana and Ann where my 2 most useful partymembers with Makotto taking the bronze medal.
Should do more videos with your voice it’s very smooth and your mic quality is amazing 🎤
I never knew you could use the grappling hook like that lol.
The voice of Bainz 🔥🔥🔥
Damn, I didn't know the Jazz club gave skills and I'm already at 3S... Oh well, maybe next time
My preferred set-up was Morgana, Makoto, and Ann all with their healing with joker to exploit weaknesses
WOW YOURE BACK, man i used to watch you a lot!
Gonna send this to my brother who only used magic for ryuji
“For real?”
I know you said the the SP Adhesive is the best but honestly SP items are quite easy to get in Royal (Not saying it’s a bad Accessory)
The Black Moon R (DLC) Gives 8+ Str and Apt Pupil which is REALLY great for Any physical character except for Violet.
Plus a lot of the Will Seed accessories (or Sin Rings if you will) are really good too. The ring of vanity is great for Joker especially.
But hey just food for thought.
Good to see people appreciating the ring of vanity on Joker, it really carries the early game
I’m crying because I’m in my second playthrough and nothing close to 99 stats armageddon.
Having played the game, Skull's high Strength and very high health and Panther's high Magic and 12-round SMG made them the most useful members of the team to me. It was even better that those two learned Charge and Concentrate (although Joker had them by Futaba's palace)
If you're having trouble on Merciless, Kotone Shiomi's Orpheus is fusible at lv11 and has the most monstrous support skill in Neo Cadenza. Eventually it'll need some time in Lockdown to boost Agility but it's totally worth it.
If I want to use dlc personae, I'd just grab izanagi no okami for free from compendium and make the game burst
@@Manavine no

For Morgana and Makoto I skipped out on Mediarhan so it felt like wasted value. Used the full spells with Joker with a Khoryu with Spell master
Just out of curiosity, any reason why your Ryuji has Spell Master that I haven't seen yet?
Yusuke should keep Deadly Fury, it gets stronger than Brave Blade after Baton Pass
Edit: Akechi beats Sumire in terms of physical damage.

Yes, exactly lol
thanks!
@@bainz thats fair.
Everyone is very viable in this game but if your going for the best of the best here it is.
top tier. ryuji, yusuke, akechi, sumi and haru
borderline top tier. makoto and ann
low tier. morgana
top tiers are obvious cause they have physical attacks and physical is just omega strong for 2 games straight along with some of the best traits, elements, best ultimate personas and the best debuffs/buffs though yusuke only joins the good buffer gang if you give him debilitate(which hes the best choice for) or until part 3.
makoto is borderline cause shes the best healer and has the best buff skill with defense buff but her damage is kinda low and what shes good at she gets replaced by characters who do her job better with savior crown and the busted buffs of third semester/vitality of the tree trait. ann is good and her attack debuff along with trait to reduce sp are both really good but fire is one of the rarer element weaknesses.
morgana is just a bad version of makoto with the worst debuff skill and like ann wind weakness just doesn't show up a lot compared to the other elements.
Is this video mostly for a new game+ playthrough, or could this be for a 1st playthrough?
First playthrough should be possible for everything I mentioned
This is what somewhat annoys me with persona.... the 8 ability limit with personas. Especially knowing MC can also use thesr abilities i always frustrate myself with setting up party members' final "loadout"
Awesome 😎 video
Hey Bainz! Could you make a frenzied bull Asterius build with almighty or fire skills? I wonder is he stronger than InO since frenzied bull doubles the damage under %50
Hey sorry for the late reply, but Asterius trait and InO trait have the same effect if you're below 50% and have compendium maxed, so the damage would be the same
@@bainz No worries :D I finished the game with almighty Asterius picaro with will of the sword

I realise you may have said so in the video and if so, sorry, I’m hard of hearing and can’t always tell what people are saying.

I wish there was a text version of this so i didn't have to see the spoiler evolved Personas

How am I supposed to read those charts?
The numbers in the () refers to what level you learn the skill or if it’s from maxing the confiant (C10) or if it’s a 3rd semester skill (3S)
The dates you can learn the recommended jazz club skills are on the far right which are also in ()
