re il- gb vs cod. part of difference is setting (more familiar than Russian setting for me) Also minor details like reflective guages, matt paint for example and the sounds that make the difference. I like both but some of the flight model aspects in GB are not right(a long explanation required so omitted), and some of the sounds are a bit flat. I'd love to have the stress sounds in GB and louder external plane sounds (when outside plane without having to mess around with volume all the time) and its got a lot more dev time going into it and it is improving (even if most of the focus is new content). Anyway I enjoy both and I think both deserve our respect.
All players make same mistake;forget to check the 6 o'clock. On the battlefield , you need to have a 360* vision of the battle, you need to know what is your enemy doing all the time. Never slow down to stay on tail of your enemy, speed is life.

Nice vid mate:) If i may suggest, avoid re positioning an attack, immediatley after your initial attack. Unless you have friendly cover or if you are sure that you'll finish him. The longer you spend in the maneuvering, the bigger and easier target you become to him or his friends. Attack, climb, check your 6, re position and repeat:) Great flying, just give your self more space between you and the target, in your attacks. Room for building speed up and situational awareness is key. Also The player in the spit displayed some excellent flying. He managed to avoid most of your attacks, and made u drain a lot of your speed in manuvers, while leading you down with him to low altitude.

You are spot on with your pushing the limits idea and trying new things. At least that's what helpt me understand and improve. You will find your own style, on some aircraft and U may have to readjust it on others. I have to admit, I don't play il2, "but I used to play a lot of Warthunder air Sim and I loved it. The 109, was the first plane that I finally became confident in flying, and had succesfully worked out a formula for consistantly getting kills, while almost always returning to base safely. I tried implementing the exact same formula over onto the Coursair. Unfortunately it only got me into a lot of trouble, and I couldn't work out how to fly it effectively. I finally saw what I was doing wrong when flying the coursair, and re learnt a simular formular but in a whole new way. seems the 109 and the F4U are two very different birds with simular strengths. Do you play other combat flight Sims to?

Nice to hear the cannons and air-frame stress sounds, I really feel sims could be most improved nowadays by improving the audio experience (So many sims soften the gun-noises so much you barely notice when they're firing! It's the same with racing sims: You barely ever hear the proper car body noise from gravel hitting the underside / suspension noises on the chassis etc) Great Stuff! 👍
Wonderful. Spit might have considered height advantage, come out of sun, or turn into attack of 109. Great game, grahics are so good. Nice dogfight. Love the spit, hate to see it shot down. Good job though.

Yes! But I think this is the case if you take off and climb inside your territory. If you take off and climb towards England you will have a few extra minutes there. But it happed exactly what you said... I couldn't get back home. Hehehehe
During the weekends there are some players on ATAG or TWC server. Not much, but enough to have fun. =D Regarding graphics, Battle of Stalingrad has more modern graphics, however, I personally think that Cliff of Dover is more "photorealistic". It is a matter of taste. Both are great =D

But in sim, airfields and targets are usually placed near the coasts on both sides and players don't need to spend time forming up and escorting bombers, which took considerable time in real life. So usually there's plenty of fuel to fly around and fight for a while, on either side of the channel. You can even go back and forth once or twice sometimes.

you should have done a runner back home after getting the guy over the airfield; the antiaircraft was getting closer and trying to beat two Spitfires wasnt going to work.
I'm flying with 60% sensitivity. But It will depend a lot on what feels better for you and your joystick. Play with the sensitivity and try to make smoother movements with it. =D
JorgeHFJ thanks for replying! I use a gladiator mk II with crosswinds, so with 0 percent it feels like I jerk around all over. I’ll give it some practice though
Wow! Very nice attention to details! You are right, I don't use them much... but is more related to this game specifically. I simply can't reduce the rudder sensitivity to a setting that is good/comfortable to me. My inputs are amplified a lot in game and I don't know why it happens. =/
If only the ground interaction physics (e.g. f#cking 3:15 ) weren't so janky in CloD... And let us do the head movement thing. A bit more refined and it could be a clear go-to over Great Battles for me.

Team Fusion has done a lot with very little help from elsewhere and there is much to be admired in this sim but many quit because most of the servers are set to real life physics. So those venturing online without knowledge of ACN (Aviate,Communicate,Navigate)have little hope of living long.But most servers have discord or teamspeak running and some have both so if you come on and have questions this community will gladly help you. Bloody excellent, great work, well done from all the way from NZ; wow a German basically won something in WW2 in one of these games etc. My father was wounded and taken POW by the Afrika Korp in Operation Crusader at a place called Sedi Rezegh, he was treated very well by Rommel's medics', he was a POW with Major General Howard Kippenberger, he was a corporal with the famous New Zealand 20th Battalion, probably the most highly decorated Battalion in the British Empire in WW2. Charlie Upham was a member of this elite bunch of rugged South Islanders. It suffered horridly, with 397 KIA, lets call it 40%. Anyway my dad and Kipp as he was called and 17 others managed to escape once they were turned over to the Italians. The Italians were way worse than the Germans or Austrians, quite sadistic according to the New Zealanders who came back after the war!
Really good dogfights but two thing bother me 1. Even the British AA gunners weren’t mad enough to put flack in the middle of their own planes🤯 2. Once the wheels were down it was the done thing to cease fire Scary airframe creaking though!
Yeah, agree... The AI for the AAA is kind of dumb and I should have stopped shooting. But, the heat of the moment can be very intense.... =( Thanks for the feedback!
Since DCS devs are not willing to do BoB, I'm going to give this a try. Never played the original game so not sure what to expect but from what I can see here and in some other videos, it's well worth less than $10 they're asking for it on Steam.

I'm sitting here, shouting at those dumb Spitfire pilots with a Bf-109 shooting at them, "Keep turning! Keep turning! Don't reverse course. He'll kill you!" But they never listen...
You right, the ME109s had a greater rate of climb and dive ....they used to dive out of the sun, hit and then climb again.....but were not as maneuverable as the Spitfires
Best luck for a German pilot: plane shot up over England, but no injury to pilot/crew member, spend war in English prison (better than Russian prison), go home after the war uninjured.

Why were the spits so slow in nailing the outnumbered 109?He was already pushing his luck with the available combat time.

@@supersensitive-xy8di Try using RivaTuner to limit your fps (in my case I limit to 60 fps). It helps a lot to get a smooth camera movement.

Blitz has better smoke and fire effects and damage models than Stalingrad, I think the environmental details and optimization is better in Stalingrad.

I notice you don't seem to use rudder much? I think you could have landed a couple of shots if you had used some subtle rudder-input.

Really good dogfights but two thing bother me
1. Even the British AA gunners weren’t mad enough to put flack in the middle of their own planes🤯
2. Once the wheels were down it was the done thing to cease fire

Yeah, agree... The AI for the AAA is kind of dumb and I should have stopped shooting. But, the heat of the moment can be very intense.... =(

Since DCS devs are not willing to do BoB, I'm going to give this a try. Never played the original game so not sure what to expect but from what I can see here and in some other videos, it's well worth less than $10 they're asking for it on Steam.

Do it.With the TF patches is a whole different sim.Best in terms of overall feel in combat, specially the damage model is to me the best out there.

É jogo sim. Se chama IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover. Se joga online, contra outros jogados... Precisa de algum treinamentozinho, mas logo se pega a manha =D

what game is this ?
Having a hard time getting this to play on windows 10. Game wont launch, and even if it does it crashes. Trying to use my saitek cyborg evo joystick

I did a fresh install, and got it to run but as soon as i start to fly, it crashes!

It only takes one spit to bring a 109 down. A 109 is flying like at stone, fast i a straight line.

Na época comprei um PC Pentium 4 com 1 G de memória, placa de vídeo GTX e Memória Expandida DDR 2 da Kingston, a internet era Velox 600 k. Chamei meus filhos que na época tinham 12 e 14 anos respectivamente e foi paixão a primeira jogada. Passava madrugadas em claro jogava online e até criamos um grupo baseado no P47 com as skins da FAB, além disso, criamos muitas missões no editor e jogávamos com centenas de jogadores do mundo inteiro. Isso já faz muito tempo, imagino com a tecnologia de hoje o que eu faria nos céus virtuais. Kkkkkkk...

You right, the ME109s had a greater rate of climb and dive ....they used to dive out of the sun, hit and then climb again.....but were not as maneuverable as the Spitfires
Spitfire pilots r trash, he could've easily out turned the e3.
Most of them were so nervous they pulled so hard to iniate the turns that they stalled :P
