If a child is conceived due to rape, the rapist should be sentenced to a minimum 18.75 years in jail...long enough for the pregnancy and the child to turn 18. That way there is no custody issue. I have heard of real cases like this.

Because it seems most laws are designed to protect the criminal and not the victim. Family courts saying that both parents need access and should have access to the children is such a long line of BS. It's like talking to a room for pedophiles and saying can't we all just get along? Our courts quit holding criminals accountable and making the punishment fit the crime many decades ago and that's where it all started. They got soft and talked about rehabilitating. Very few come out of prison rehabilitated.

The minute my friend said he went to jail for that, I would have cancelled her as a friend. When my bf blew up on me because I didn't tell him about my rape, I would have ended that relationship. Her first mistake was that she should have went to the police for him stalking her in the beginning, asap. She could have told the police she needed a restraining order because she was afraid of him because he was stalking her everywhere she went as soon as he got out of prison. I've always thought it was one of the worse travesties of justice that a rapist can come back and then want to play Father of the Year. I find it the same as when women get beat up, they have to leave everything they own and live in a women's shelter with their children. There is a big problem with domestic abusers making out they want custody or visitation just to get access to the mother. This means the man gets the woman's home address. Many women lose their lives every year because of this. I have experience where the abusive husband still gets visitation even when he busted through the glass door at night fighting the step-father and threatening to kill everyone. Psychopaths have much in common with domestic abusers. Being able to charm child services is relatively easy for a man who doesn't care about the child. He simply wants to get revenge on the mother. Have you noticed men suddenly want custody of children now the authorities have got tougher on making them pay child support? I heard of one case in America where the man worked 80 hours a week, although he was wealthy and didn't have to. This broke down the marriage. The mother had three children she was devoted to. She was a stay-home mom. For some reason she didn't sue for alimony. The court decided that she didn't have enough money to support the children. She lost custody to the man. It gets worse. She had been trained as a lawyer but wasn't qualified to practice in the state where they lived. The judge forced her to live 1,000 miles away from the children and work fulltime in order to pay the husband child support. She lost her mind and killed the husband. The feminist movement has some accountability in all this. The philosophy underpinning this danger to women and children is the idea that men and women are biologically the same. In addition, America does no understand what domestic abuse is. They need to get information from the UK and Europe. Domestic abuse is not an act of violence in a domestic setting or relationship. Domestic abuse is a series of behaviours designed to frighten, control and intimidate a domestic partner. It is a particular form of domestic terror. Men and women are biologically different. With the courts increasingly giving custody to men, women are forced to stay in abusive marriages, for fear of losing their children.

Best is to forgive them and never associate with them again.. Her fiance and best friend left her when she needed them the most.. She had to prove she was correct for them to open their eyes.. The minute my friend said he went to jail for that, I would have cancelled her as a friend. When my bf blew up on me because I didn't tell him about my rape, I would have ended that relationship. When that man told me he was out to get me, oh baby we would go undergound. I would dye my hair, move overseas. All of this is NOPE for me.

Her first mistake was that she should have went to the police for him stalking her in the beginning, asap. She could have told the police she needed a restraining order because she was afraid of him because he was stalking her everywhere she went as soon as he got out of prison. Why do these movies make some not seem very smart. That would have helped her case. I'm only about 30 minutes in.and I'm already frustrated

I've always thought it was one of the worse travesties of justice that a rapist can come back and then want to play Father of the Year. I find it the same as when women get beat up, they have to leave everything they own and live in a women's shelter with their children. No matter what, it is men doing the unthinkable, and getting rewarded in the end. Custody, family home, all the couples assets...so, you get to be evil and win in this country?
As a thriller enthusiast, this was a brilliant movie, for a second a thought it's based on a true story, that's how convincing it is 💯

I don't want to go into many personal details, but the idea of what you might call "revenge custody," is not totally fictitious, even if this movie is. There is a big problem with domestic abusers making out they want custody or visitation just to get access to the mother. This means the man gets the woman's home address. Many women lose their lives every year because of this.
I have experience where the abusive husband still gets visitation even when he busted through the glass door at night fighting the step-father and threatening to kill everyone. Psychopaths have much in common with domestic abusers. Being able to charm child services is relatively easy for a man who doesn't care about the child. He simply wants to get revenge on the mother. Have you noticed men suddenly want custody of children now the authorities have got tougher on making them pay child support?
I heard of one case in America where the man worked 80 hours a week, although he was wealthy and didn't have to. This broke down the marriage. The mother had three children she was devoted to. She was a stay-home mom. For some reason she didn't sue for alimony. The court decided that she didn't have enough money to support the children. She lost custody to the man. It gets worse. She had been trained as a lawyer but wasn't qualified to practice in the state where they lived. The judge forced her to live 1,000 miles away from the children and work fulltime in order to pay the husband child support.
She lost her mind and killed the husband.

In addition, America does no understand what domestic abuse is. They need to get information from the UK and Europe. Domestic abuse is not an act of violence in a domestic setting or relationship. Men and women are biologically different. With the courts increasingly giving custody to men, women are forced to stay in abusive marriages, for fear of losing their children.
