Hi, I love your videos and I heard a lot of good things about you, and I saw good comments from you. I'm 16 and I really love animals and I take care of them like they are my kids. I was suppose to be getting some pigeons , but my house caught on fire cause my mom left the heater on. We know not to try that again . I'm still going to get my racing pigeons and I also have to build another loft. When I'm about to purchase them I will keep you posted, but it will be a while for right now since I have school. But until then thanks for everything cause I'm really looking up to you. Thanks again!😀 And also I'm new to TH-cam didn't really make videos since everything that happen to me!
+JAR Loft Thank you! The nest boxes are 20x15x15, I made them in those dimensions so to fit the location they were placed in. I do have nest fronts that i've built but I haven't gotten around to installing them. Maybe for the second round but currently, this works just fine for me
Thank you! I will be building a new loft since I have moved out of California and now reside in Missouri. Lots of property and space to build a huge loft, stick around if you'd like for video updates on a new loft being built!
I have a question. Do we need permit to have homing pigeons here in California? Just wondering. And also is there a way to sound proof the loft to eliminate noise?
+Speed Pigeons Matters what area you live in. For the most part you dont, at least I dont. Also, pigeons are really quiet so I wouldn't see a reason for you to sound proof it. Although, the plywood alone gets it sound proof
If i understood correctly, you're asking when it's okay to separate the parents from their young? I wean the youngbirds at 23-25 days but start introducing feed to their nest at 20 days so they'll start figuring it out on their own. Then the parents go down on their second set of eggs, unless they are quick about it and lay sooner. Hope that explains it
+Yue Pheng I used plywood and a nail gun, then used sealant to seal the edges, that's why you see white lines in between the pieces of plywood. I did that because feather mites and lice hide there and attack the squeakers if there are any openings.
Richard DePalma Richard I have just started competing in the one loft races. Last year I scored in the money in the 284 mile race at the Gold Country Challenge. My bird named Ontrac scored =2nd trapping in 6th. This year I have 3 birds training at the Apple Cup Classic in Washington.
Hi Mate, thanks for sharing your loft...Hope someday to have a racing pigeon like yours:)
