Ummm not quite. It’s a lithium battery fire. You do know what happens when you put water on lithium right?
Also here’s a list of gases that can form and are nothing to mess with it
When a lithium-ion battery experiences a thermal incident, it can release flammable and toxic gases into the air as a vapor cloud. These gases can include:
      Hydrogen (H)
      Methane (CH)
      Carbon monoxide (CO)
      Hydrofluoric acid (HF)
      Hydrogen chloride (HCl)
      Hydrogen cyanide (HCN)
      Sulphur dioxide (SO2)
In order to move something that heavy you need a lot of specific equipment which probably isn’t gonna work so well with hydrofluoric acid spewing out.
You pretty much gotta wait for these kinds of fires to put themselves out or use very specialized fire foam. Good luck with that in the middle of the desert.

Mining the material for them destroys the earth. And when they have a problem , ITS A MAJOR PROBLEM. Now imagine you e got a couple of ev's charging in an underground parking garage to a multi story residential building. 1 starts going into thermal runaway. Sets the other ones off. Just being in the smoke for a few seconds will render you unconscious. Not to mention the extremely high temps weakening the structure. Get where I'm going. Cities don't have comprehensive plans to deal with a single Li battery fire. Much less a multi Li fire.

For an ICE vehicle, you have to run the entire engine to use the A/C (or heat). An EV just has to use the A/C or the heat pump, so I could have sat in that desert heat and used far less of MY available energy source than you would, burning gas to stay cool. We got stuck on interstate 15 outside of Baker Ca. About 20 years ago almost on that same stretch of Freeway on OUR way to Vegas over Labor Day weekend in 117 degree temps . Since that stretch has limited exits & it’s illegal to cross over median to U-turn ( and is sandy as all hell in places ) the CHP were having a field day trying to get accident and victims cleared and giving people tickets who had tried unsuccessfully to turn around & getting stuck vehicles off center between highway. A normal 6-1/2 to 7 hour trip from San Diego took us 15 hours that day , and that was THE LAST TIME we ever traveled to Vegas that way on a busy holiday weekend. We now prefer to go East on I-8 and head up the 95 North of Yuma . It is a longer route milage wise and has its share of some really crazy drivers and limited services along the route , but it’s been for us at least a slightly better alternative way to travel to see friends there. Stay safe people , and take plenty of fluids in summer like conditions along for the ride for reasons just like in this video. 😐

My wife and I got caught up in this insanity leaving Las Vegas at 10:30 AM on Friday morning, July 26 bound for Temecula. We were advised to exit the I-15 southbound at Baker and use Kelbaker Rd (127) to reach I-40. We travelled some 20-25 miles east on Kelbaker only to be stopped dead in the middle of nowhere. Upon hearing there was a bad rollover crash some distance ahead, we decided to turn around and backtrack to the I-15 northbound. We went back to Nipton exit, drove to Searchlight and then down 95S to I-40W via Goffs Rd. After a short distance on 40, we used back roads to get us down through Amboy, Wonder Valley, Twentynine Palms, Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, Morongo Valley, I-10W, 79S just west of Beaumont, down through Hemet and finally into the Temecula Valley. All in all it turned into about 10 hours and over 500 miles of driving to get around this fiasco. On the positive side we got to see some stuff and go through areas we've never been before.

So, if the world is pushing everyone to go Eco Friendly and drive electric vehicles which require these lithium ion batteries, and they are so dangerous that a trailer carrying 3 batteries has an accident will cause a road blockage for days…what’s the advantage? Have an accident in an EV, if the battery is damaged the replacement could run $5-20K, or if the temperature drops like it did in Chicago this past winter where the battery dies, and our recharging stations died as well…what’s the upside?
Why wasn’t the National Guard called out to assist in food / water / portable toilets? Is there a reason why they can’t let one side go for a while, then the other? If these are this dangerous, why are we even thinking of them as an alternative? What about moving them by helicopter? Temporary roads around the accident?
Concern for infants / toddlers / elderly / disabled? I think another person in the feed has stated already that if there was any type of actual catastrophic event that we would be completely SCREWED!
    Another final thought…assistance by horseback?
Horrifying isn’t it…I feel sorry for all of you sitting out there, while everyone in charge says sit tight, don’t get heatstroke, need medication, have to urinate, defecate, get thirsty or hungry…because THEY GOT THIS!!
