I will read Quran book as it is a copied version of Torah book with the slight variation mostly.
1) Riyad-us-Saliheen (Explanation by Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen).
2) Umdat-ul-Ahkam (Print by Dar-Ibn-Kuzaimah).

JazakAllahu Khayr for the beneficial video. Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen's Sharh of Riyad al-Saliheen has been published in 6 volumes by Darussalam in English - it has few mistakes like misplaced ayaat etc. but overall its a good book for English speaking Muslims.

Read the book which you are personally interested in, read daily but read only that much after which you started getting bored... Don't buy more than 2 books at a time. Bcz you won't read if you have dozens of books. Once you completed one then buy another

Hadith, Arabic Ḥadīth (“News” or “Story”), corpus of the sayings or traditions of the Prophet Muhammad, revered by Muslims as a major source of religious law and moral guidance. It comprises many reports of varying length and authenticity. The individual reports are also called hadith (plural: hadiths).5
How were Hadith Compiled?
The first stage relates to the period of the Prophet till 10 A.H.
The second stage is approximately from 11 A.H. to 100 A.H. This is the period of Sahaba, the companions of the Prophet.
The third stage is from about 101 to nearly 200 A.H. ...
The fourth stage is roughly from 200 A.H. to 300 A.H.

ISNAD (Sequence of Reporters) - This is the chain of narrators through which the Hadith has spread. ...

Ahad has been further categorised into three sub-types:
There are five necessities: preservation of religion, life, intellect, lineage, and wealth. These ensure individual and social welfare in this life and the hereafter. The Sharia protects these necessities in two ways: firstly by ensuring their establishment and then by preserving them.
Assalamualaikum wr wb...may i know the authenticity of Muntakhab ahadees book? Is it okay for a layman to use it?
It contains many weak Ahādīth but to use something like Riyādh us Sālihīn of an-Nawawī.
is there not a collection of Hadiths in which they're focused on stories that the prophet(pubs) spoke of? historical events or his own explanations/comments to the stories mentioned in the Quran?
maybe you can check Musnad Imam Ahmad, and focus on Abdullah ibn Abbas and Abdullah ibn Mas'ud hadith collection. But, those hadith need to be check for authenticity. Allah knows best.

Masha Allah Ta'ala,Sheikh...I understood u well ..in America I believe we have to explain it a little further for the new Muslim.Bear in mind, the psyche we face in the land of shirk..Then being a black person born in America our people are still suffering from psychological slavery..So any explanation given on the authentic Islam has to be broken down to it's simplest form...I understand that the six cananical books of Ahadeeth is the fundamentals of the above mentioned books of Imam Nawawi & Shiekhul Islam , Iman Hanbali..May Allah Ta'ala grant them both paradise and have mercy on their souls.Love the way you sum up Imam Bukhari's formation of his book of Ahadeeth..May Allah Ta'ala protect you and bless you and your family.Ameen

He mentioned Riyadh us Saliheen by Imam Nawawi, and he recommended Shaylh Uhthaymeens explanation of Riyadh us Saliheen for arabic speakers however now the explanation has been translated so you might be able to find it.
Second book he recommended is Umdatul Ahkaam by Imam Maqdisi.

At-Tirmidhi (2167) narrated from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah will not cause my ummah to agree on falsehood; the hand of Allah is with the jamaa‘ah (the main body of the Muslims).” Classed as hasan by al-Albaani.

İt's more related to the fiqh matters as far as i know , and probably not all new comers could learn that easier than let's say Sharah Riyadhus Shalihin (but again it's a recommended book just like Tafseer ibn Katsir,Al Lulu wal Marjan and such)

Mwinyi Mohamed ‘Umdat ul Ahkām is authored by al-Hāfidh ‘AbdulGhanī al-Maqdasī al-Hanbalī what I mentioned was that it is printed by Dār Ibn al-Khuzaymah

In Sab Tafseer me masle masail bhi hote h jo Tafseer likhne wale Apne Fiqh k according likhte hai, Aur Yahan India me Hanafi Fiqh chalta h isliye Tafseer padhte waqt masle masail pe Dhyan rakhna.
For Example Imam k Pichhe Surah Fatiha Padhe ya na Padhe, Hanafi Fiqh me Imam ka Fatiha Muktadi ka Fatiha hota h aur Shafa'i fiqh me Muktadi ko bhi Surah Fatiha padhna padta hai islye Tafseer padhte waqt in sab khayal Jarur rakhan kyun ki Sheikh Uthman Bhai Hanbali Fiqh ko follow karte hai islye unki recommended ki hui lagbhag sari books Hanbali Scholars ki likhi hui hai😅
Waise Abul Ala Maududi ki Tafheem ul Quran asia me best Tafseer maani jati hai, isme fiqh masail pe jyada Focus nhi kiya gya hai. Mai bhi Tafheem ul Quran padhne ki sochta hun but padh hi nhi pata 😑😕
