No it really didn't. You obviously haven't played anything from back then. Quake 3 Arena from '98 looked better.
They look good because the game's played on 1920x1080 with max settings and DX11, take pentium 2 and run wolfenstein on it, see how good it looks

Even though that last statement of yours is OBJECTIVELY true, that majority would like to disagree on the 2009 counterpart feeling like Wolfenstein, I played Wolfenstein 3D and RTCW first, and I'd say the 2009 version sucks in EVERY way and comes off as a Call of duty knock off then a Wolfenstien sequal, the New order enemies actually FELT threatening, and there is no bullshit Regenerative health, and brought BJ back into his glory days. it fixes ALL the problems forgettable 2009's Call Of duty Wolfenstein has, and the ONLY wolfenstien game nearly as loved as RTCW, and THATS saying something.
That was a cheap CoD 2 knock off! With regenerative health and boring enemies and maps, it was just another fucking war game, people say it's the best mostly because of nostalgia. I played most of the Wolfenstein games trying to have an objective look at the games, including Wolfenstein 3D, the best modern Wolfenstein game is New Order, it is the one that is better designed, written and shares the most similarities with the classic one made from id.

Same. It’s a shame it got pulled from steam. I think it had something to do with Activision losing publishing licenses for the series. Same with Wolfenstein RPG. EA lost that publishing license. Two games I miss deeply and hope they somehow make a return. I’d die of joy if you could play Wolfenstein RPG in The New Colossus like how you could play some of Timesplitters 2 in Homefront: The Revolution.
masterofbloopers if I'm correct it got taken off because Bethesda got the publishing licence and they didn't like the game's critics. They thought it would ruin the franchise's reputation.

Yeah I think a modern game should have great graphics if they're aiming for realism, which is the case here, this is a FPS, no different from any other, they just want to make it as realistic as possible. I don't think they did a very good job with it.

Slender Man the Senior yeah, because of the game being a game on the apple II computer. theres a program called "the voice" that lets you record,create and edit voices, it even lets you type a sentence and the computer Will read it.

RTCW is the beat game of the series. I want a remastered version of it with 2017 level fantastic graphics , new weapons , new enemies and better and more clever AI. All the other aspects should be the same.

because some people love an older version of a game because of something like story or game-play but just want to see it evolve in a sense and get better graphics and some more modern day game-play and materials/mechanics like akash was listing just to give a good game another run in the light and maybe make it a little better than it already was just more up to date. Not to mention people want some games remastered just so its playable again on a greater scale. Lets take RTCW on PS2 for example lots maybe played it then on either PS2 or PC then which in comparison to each other were either about equal in graphics and game play or slightly different, but we will just stick to PS2 version at its time for sake of my example. Now a days its probably next to impossible to ever go back and really play and relive the game as it was back then in '01/'02 simply because as sad as it makes me to say it PS2 consoles are practically obsolete and aren't made anymore because its old, outdated and there's simply newer and better stuff out so time is not dedicated to them anymore. Which makes it hard to go back and play such a game on that platform unless you still have a PS2 and it works still. So people would want a game they like such as RTCW to be "remastered" so it can be playable on newer and higher end platforms like now PS4 or a PS3 and PC specs now. Maybe that helps and makes more sense.

While I do agree that New Order is by far the best Wolfenstein game to date as far as quality, nothing beats the nostalgia of Wolfenstein 2009 for me - I played that game nonstop throughout middle school. It's one of my favorites, and I'll still hold onto it for years to come. No amount of critics or naysayers can tell me otherwise; and yes, I've also played and beaten every other game in the series for PC (not that rpg bullshit)

The original Rtcw on PC will always be the best to me. Game was just pure fun. Every location was interesting and the enemies varied widely. The definition of an FPS in my eyes. Also terrifying at moments

When I played The Old Blood, the zombies really caught me off guard.
I only recently came into the Wolfenstein series last year and It's definitely one of my favorite all time games and probably my favorite of the last 4 years or so.
I'll never get tired of Wolfenstein 3d. It's without a doubt the best in the series.

Some say that 2009's Wolfenstein is one of the weakest in the main series, but I fucking LOVED that game. Also, I expected something different with "The History of Wolfenstein", you should call it "All Wolfenstein Games".

RTCW was amazing, still is. Classic gaming, so many awesome elements.
Wolfenstein the New Order - I think this is the pinnacle of their achievement. The story, atmosphere and realism are off the charts. I really think if the Nazis had won the war it would have played out as it did in the game in some ways. Really a stellar achievement.

Return to Castle Wolefenstein is the first videogame of my life which got me into gaming. And still it is THE BEST Wolfenstein I have ever played.
I played the original on the Apple 2. 30+ years later The New Colossus looks better than most movies from the same era.
I used to have a copy of the 1981 Castle Wolfenstein game for my Apple II. Gave it away along with the computer.

I played Old Blood then New Order because I thought that was the correct chronological order - especially since I had seen some vids about a possible new game following the "death" of Blas at the end of New Order. This video has corrected me but at the same time left me a bit confused.

I played every Wolfenstein since 2001-2019... In my opinion RTCW is the best after is Wolfenstein The New Order next is Old Blood than New colossus and last place takes Wolfenstein 2009.

the only good Crysis at least for me was Crysis 1 , 2 was like wtf is happening? and the 3rd was too short.
Gubbica99 crysis 1 was mainly developed to test the "heavily modified"(updated) cry engine 2 and released on the market to get the feed from gamer's PCs to analyze the performance of cry engine. later they came up with a relevant storyline, game mechanics in crysis 2, 3 was funded by the vendors like amd, Intel, Nvidia and there you go... now you need couple of $1000 GPU with few TB of Rams and 7-9 displays and don't forget! nVidiaaaa... the way it's meant to be played (my ass)...

Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War was the best one in my opinion seen as it was pretty much the same as the original RTCW, but with one new enemy and the Egypt missions. And I can't understand why they haven't made a Remastered version of the games, RTCW 2001 remastered for PC, tides of war remastered for xbox one and operation resurrection remastered for ps4
