They used face model of real actors since Yakuza 3. Not just Kuze, there are tons of real model actors in Y0 : Awano, Shibusawa, Sagawa, Tachibana, the libido guy... ect ect . And all platinum girls in Sun Shine club execpt Yuki

@@Steak818 Not really. From what I know, they never use motion capture, mean they must have software or system did really very good job with characters expression. For example some characters only exist in-games like Nishiki, Akiyama, Shinada... They're very detail but still look "real" in cutscenes

Many Y0 characters are modeled after their voice actors. You can see him in this video refer to Shibusawa and Awano by their actor's names. Also Tachibana, Sagawa, Nishitani, most of the cabaret club and sidequest ladies, and even Mr. Shakedown and Mr. Libido.

They started doing that in yakuza 3 actually (afaik). Many character models are actually modelled after their VAs. (Also why tanimura got changed in the remaster of yakuza 4)
