I effectively have the same van as you and do think sometimes when it’s parked it leans. However when on the road it tracks straight and true with. I lean at all.
My advice would be take it to a weigh station where it’s 100% level and measure from the centre point of the wheel to the wheel arch on both sides.
In the event that that shows a difference respond back and Iwill contact the UK Caravan and Motorhome club of which I am a nominated member of and see if we can dig in to it.

Oh Karen, I did smile when you were describing how tired you are and Reece bounced energetically past you despite your best efforts to tire him out all day! The toddler stage is a LOT! I remember trying to walk my older two to school some mornings with my youngest immobilised under my arm like a rolled up carpet as it was the only way we could get there in time! Hang in there mama.

Glad the RV was repaired before the tire blew. Reese is definitely having a full on good time. Thank you for sharing. Everyone stay safe, warm, happy and healthy. From Henrico County Virginia

I have an Adria caravan with same ALKO suspension and always jack the wheels off the ground when parked in the garage this way the rubber suspension and tyres get a rest when not in use, the caravan shouldn't lean.
Reece is growing and like any boy gets up to s bit of mischief
    😅❤

What a darling your little boy is. They are all so busy at this age. I took a nap for you after watching your video.😊

Glad you got the suspension sorted, so good that there's now a company in NZ doing it.
Nice wee holiday opportunity. Our wee girl is getting a bit more challenging in the caravan especially for day time naps, its interesting all the stages they go through. Such fun though.
Those big batteries will definately be making an impact. Get it as balanced as you can, and while parked up long term I'd suggest jacking it up so no weight on the tyres.

Hi Karen I would say that most caravans lean a bit on one side especially if the fridge and kitchen units are on one side this is quite common. The AL-KO axle has 3 long solid suspension rubbers inside that's all it is. you should have about 50-80mm from the top of the tyre to the wheel arch inner. As long as it isn't rubbing the inside of the wheel box now you should be fine. you could always fit AL-KO shock absorber to boost suspension. Regards Roy Swindon Caravan Group England.

Hi. Good to see you again.
Buy, I'm so happy I survived that stage of growth. Btw, I have an 18 year old granddaughter.
Re the caravan, I doubt the weight of a couple of batteries would make that much difference. At least, a difference you would notice.
But sure, get both sides weighed.
Ask someone to drive behind and see if it runs crook.

Given the amount of time that you have the caravan parked up, I would look at jacking it up and using axle stands. This would take all the weight of of the suspension units, and avoid the wear and tear on them as you move around in the caravan.

Yes Reese is all boy. He is a active little one for sure. Glad to hear you got the caravan repaired and I have to agrre to a point the you may have a slight out of balance issue. Your caravan is like a boat two much stuff on one side will cause a slight list to that side. You may be surprised just how much some of that stuff might weigh to cause that slight lean to one side. So good luck with that little project to even it all out. It is nice to see you on the road again, Maybe you can stop to one of Haydens work sites just to say hello for a few days. Take care Lady and stay safe. Vic

Great to see you again. Hopefully redistributing the weight in the caravan does the trick. You sure have a "bouncing' boy on your hands - be assured his bouncing will morph into 'doing and trying' - that's way easier to redirect lol
Enjoy the rest of summer and stay well.

I lost my keys in the same place 😂 your camping area aka your home base is looking great. Reminds me of when I lived in a caravan on waiheke island with my kids. I was so proud of my long drop when I finally got it done instead of driving to the beach toilets for number 2s 😂 try to put some shade cloth over your fridge freezer. Even inside my tiny kitchen my fridge freezer struggles cos it's opposite a very sunny window so I have to keep the curtains closed. I love taupo but still not interested in tackling the summer traffic to go anywhere 😂 reese is growing up fast. I'd also mutter to myself every morning and night..."well we survived another day". 😂😂😂

In relation to the caravan leaning to one side (after the repair), could you find a place that can weigh the caravan? I'm sure there's places in/around Taupo that would have scales that can weigh the caravan - testing each side and the front and back. E.g. garages, repair shops, weighbridge facilities.

We have dual alko axels on our 5th wheel. Had them rerubbered, upgraded to 1600kg per axel and reinstalled for $1275. Hope they just sent the Axel. It is a special process only done in Brisbane and Melbourne here. If you intend to leave the van stationary for a long period put her on blocks and don't let the axels hang. Hope you didn't get the single female let's blind her with BS treatment. Agree with Graeme pitts comment. Do you have weight distribution hitches when you tow?

Hi mate, where in Melbourne is this business as mine double axel elddis just cut thru mudguard and some interior moved probably from a pothole. If you could provide some info that will be greatly appreciated. I did try looking online but it is hard to find business that fix them.
      Regards

@@ziggypiosickiMain plant is in Dandenong Melbourne and also have a a manufacture plant in Yatala Qld. Our axels were sent to the Yatala plant for rerubbering. Brand new axle costs anywhere between $1500 and $2800 depending on the weight . Just google 'alko' and a lot of sites show. One might be near you

Common sense tells me that your caravan should now be level and it’s nothing to do with weight distribution. I would speak to them again and be assertive.

Hi Karen. My friend’s Swift had the same problem and had to have the suspension repaired. After the repair the caravan rode higher than before but it still leaned a bit towards the side that had all the weight (the kitchen side). Your problem is almost definitely caused by more weight on one side than the other. If the caravan tows nicely then I wouldn’t worry about it. My friend certainly had no problems with his after the fix. Take care, Steve.

Sometimes the terrain you are parked on can create an optical illusion. The ground you are parked in is not flat and over time the weight of the tires may have created a recess into the ground on one side but not as much on the other side.
To really know if there is an actual issue pull the caravan onto a level paved parking site. Then with the caravan unhitched take actual measurements on both sides from the ground to the trailer frame. That way you will know if there really is an issue and if so literally how big of an issue there is. Then if rebalancing such as moving the batteries is done you can remeasure and know for sure how much of a difference it has made.
Are there differences in how you think versus your husband? Yes there are but it is not so much biological or even IQ scores as it is in he has gained more knowledge than you have from assembling, fixing and making things. That type of activity creates a habitual way and need of analytical thinking routines about cause and effects as they relate to structures, electrical, plumbing, moving heavy objects and even the efficiency of movements such as applying paint and caulk. You can do it too even though you will always be years behind in accumulated experience. All it takes is practice, really thinking things through instead of making assumptions or going into panic stress and worry. So start today and practice that way of listing possible causes and effects. Think of lots of them for a scenario such as this one for an off level caravan instead of stopping at just one. Write them down, then figure out how to physically, whenever possible, to verify if true or not.

It's not all that rare, rubber dose degrade over time, overloading can also kill rubber suspension.
