Purple is my favourite too and I wish I had more but it seems to go out of favour for long periods and it can be hard to find. Have a particular dress that will probably never fit me again, but I love it so very much...

The problem for me is with people out in the world who don’t hear what we’re saying but only see us wearing the Potter stuff. Not saying I know what the right thing to do is, just that I think when it comes to actually wearing stuff out and about it becomes more complicated than it is when just enjoying the books/movies/what have you in the comfort of ones own home.

i think its completely fine to wear stuff from harry potter despite JK being an absolute twat... the franchise has completely transcended her and, the main characters who we know and love (i.e emma + daniel for example) have spoken out against JK and in support of trans rights... so for me, i'm not gonna let one angry women ruin something i love so much! especially when the characters and actors who i truly looked up to have similar morals to me!

about the Hufflepuff vest top - you could try turning it into a little cushion cover? That way it can sit on your guest bed or sofa or wherever, and you can still enjoy the design, without having to worry about potentially hurting other people's feelings or making them think you support the transphobia :) Probably wouldn't work as well for the scarf, but tbh the scarf looked just like a stripey scarf to me... I wouldn't have recognised that as an HP item if you hadn't said it!

(I feel so nerdy, but I really want to see that,) When I decluttered my wardrobe last year I counted my different categories of clothes and realised actually how many skirts and cardigans I actually own compared to other categories of clothes. I have many blue and vine red clothes, and I could make so many outfits out of just those clothes.

In my third year of studying graphic design I had to create my own branding and logo deciding to go with yellow and blue (my old fave colour) and all of a sudden i was just drawn to yellow so much starting with my yellow raincoat that I still love so much. Im never going back 😅

My HP merch makes me uncomfortable too. I don’t publicly show it all off because I do not want the world to see me as a terf (I know that doesn’t inherently make someone a terf, I just feel icky about potentially being perceived that way). That said, my late granny knitted me a Ravenclaw scarf. I feel comfy wearing that out because it’s not as obvious as like my HP T-shirt or key ring. It’s something tough to navigate. At least we’re not adding more to her revenue, right?
On the fav color thing - there is something I read where you have a favorite color to wear, a favorite color to live in/around, and a favorite color in general. So orange could still be your favorite color and yellow is your favorite color to wear/exist in.
When I was a toddler I wouldn't wear anything that wasn't purple. Luckily I was the first grandchild on both sides and my grandparents were eager to spoil me. 😅
I did a capsule wardrobe with white, navy, teal, and tangerine pink-- but now, those are my only 4 colors! I desperately need 1 or 2 more to break up the monotony. I loooove the capsule wardrobe system though! Always something to wear :)

Your feelings about the hufflepuff stuff remind me a lot of how I felt about some feminine clothes I had before I realized I’m butch. They were once special to me and part of my identity, so I couldn’t let go of them initially. I held onto them for a little while until my feelings adjusted. At some point I realized they were making me not feel great when I saw them so I could finally donate them. It was conflicting but just took some time and then I was able to be happy about my closet. I’m hearing a lot of that feeling in you 💛 there’s no pressure to make a decision right now

If I have a dominant colour in my wardrobe, it's probably navy. Unsure what colour of that shirt I like best? Pick the navy. Want to maximize how many outfits I can make with those trousers? Navy. Small smatterings of burgundy, grey, and dark green in there too. But so much navy, tho....
I love wearing bold colors, so my problem is more of a print problem. If it's floral, I want it on my body right now. I also love polka dots and swirly patterns, but florals are just what my eye gravitates towards, I don't know why. I'm currently wearing an eggplant purple dress with sky blue and peachy pink flowers on it..

I am horrible with black clothing, I just sorted out my clothes and 1/3 is black... But I wear it a lot, for example a black pants with coloured top or a different colour pants with a black top. So yeah I have a lot of black but I do truly and happily wear it

For me, plaids are a big thing. I geek out over tartans, and invest in different types of flannels to fit all four seasons.

Your feelings about the hufflepuff stuff remind me a lot of how I felt about some feminine clothes I had before I realized I’m butch. They were once special to me and part of my identity, so I couldn’t let go of them initially. I held onto them for a little while until my feelings adjusted. At some point I realized they were making me not feel great when I saw them so I could finally donate them. It was conflicting but just took some time and then I was able to be happy about my closet. I’m hearing a lot of that feeling in you 💛 there’s no pressure to make a decision right now

I had a black-turquoise-hot pink problem a few years ago. Now it's mostly just black and neutrals.
I specifically remember NOT buying a jacket in corally orange because turquoise was "more neutral". 😂
I have a skull print thing. Underwear? Skull print. Hat? Skull and rose on it. Pajama top? Rainbow Skull. Jeans? They have skulls too! I have earring and a skull ring I also wear 24/7
I wonder if you could dye some of the clothes to repurpose them? Like the scarf would dye up well in a dark colour, I think.
I don't have a lot of yellow clothes, despite it being my favourite colour, but uhhhh my decor is a different story...
Edit: Actually, I did recently buy a pair of yellow converse and a yellow t shirt so the contents of my wardrobe may gradually start to match the rest of my bedroom...

I, personally, am more partial to orange, but I am a huge proponent of wearing bright colours of all sorts, so go yellow!

If I have a dominant colour in my wardrobe, it's probably navy. Unsure what colour of that shirt I like best? Pick the navy. Want to maximize how many outfits I can make with those trousers? Navy.
Small smatterings of burgundy, grey, and dark green in there too. But so much navy, tho....
I love wearing bold colors, so my problem is more of a print problem. If it's floral, I want it on my body right now. I also love polka dots and swirly patterns, but florals are just what my eye gravitates towards, I don't know why.
I'm currently wearing an eggplant purple dress with sky blue and peachy pink flowers on it..
I don't like yellow, but I can appreciate it when it suits other people well.

I am horrible with black clothing, I just sorted out my clothes and 1/3 is black... But I wear it a lot, for example a black pants with coloured top or a different colour pants with a black top. So yeah I have a lot of black but I do truly and happily wear it

I love this 😍 I seem to own a crazy amount of red which is mad because I don't think red suits me but it makes up a massive portion of my clothes! I used to aspire to a totally pink wardrobe (yeah I'm that woman) but now I aspire to a wardrobe rainbow 😍😍😍 at least red is covered 😂
