I love my 6th gen! I use it daily and the battery is still awesome! I have thousands of shows and documentaries downloaded on it and use it for media consumption daily with zero issues! I cannot yet spend the difference in price on a newer model considering how well this still works & is still up to date with iOS!! It’s still great for me.
There’s a very nostalgic feeling around the 6th gen iPad. It was the last iPad to have the same design and form factor of the iPad Air 2 (my first iPad). The 6th gen iPad is still very usable in early/mid 2024, great for simple web browsing, TH-cam video watching, reading books, and so much more. The screen is also very sharp and the battery (if relatively new) lasts for hours. I think there are better budget iPads today like the 9th and 10th gen models, but the 6 will still be used by me as a spare tablet for hopefully many years to come.
IOS 17 runs on it. However, even though my iPad has 91% battery left (as of last month), it runs warm and the battery drains quickly. With 3gb of ram and 128gb, it isn't optimal choice any longer.
Really good and honest review. My family uses an iPad 6 gen everyday (mostly entertainment), as long as you don't do multi tasking too much, it still works like a charm.
it was my 1st ipad it holds a special place in my heart and is one of the best devices i have used it was one of the greatest for its time and as a budding tech phone watching this simple budget ipad was like watching and using a supercomputer around ios 14 it started getting fairly slow and it was slightly better after a hard reset in 2021 i gave it up for my first phone as my parents didnt want me having a phone and an ipad i defeintly miss it and wished it stil remained but it doesnt if you do buy you should get the 128 gb version because the 32 gb fills up very fast
I have an iPad 6 gen with 128GB I use it mostly for learning languages it’s great for Chinese and allows me to practice Character writing using the apple pen , I watch movies in foreign languages with Netflix, and it’s easily transportable . In short it’s an amazing device that I love
I have it since 2018, I use it everyday for note taking on college, still works pretty good with a more than fair battery life considering the time. I think Im going to keep using it, until runs out of updates.
I’m picking one up for $100, I think it will suit my needs as I only plan to watch TH-cam, read news and FB/Instagram on it. I want something bigger than my iPhone 11 when laying in bed, and my 2015 MacBook Pro is a bit too big for this task. Having both Mac and iPhone from before, this tablet will glide smoothly into my current eco system. Thanks a lot of for this video, you convinced me to buy one! With the latest OS there really is no need to buy the newest and greatest stuff, these older devices can still give you a great performance on a budget
For the most basic of uses yes. But even if you use safari you will have pages crash on you because of the low amount of ram this thing has. You will also notice lag in general performance it’s not really ideal anymore. It’s also not going to get ipados 18. Get a newer device, anything with more 6gb RAM.
I have 6th gen and I was planning to upgrade to iPad 10th gen. I have iPad Pro as well but for casual watching I have 6th gen. And I have it bend soo I thought it’s a time for upgrade. So I’m waiting for march if Apple didn’t show 11th version I’m getting the 10th version
I have a universal license with affinity photo so I'm thinking about buying this iPad for drawing, it would make a great secondary display tablet when I don't want to sit at my computer.
I want to take my 1st dip into mac environment.. what does it mean when you say usability for future years? that the software is not going to work let say in 3 years? can I still use old apple hardware for years to come?
Apple will likely stop providing updates for this model in the near future. However, the device should continue to function for a long time. Keep in mind that you may miss out on some future features without updates, but for basic use, it remains quite viable
@@andreadigitaltechen hey I found a refurbished I pad 6 with 4gb of RAM. And for 40plus bucks a 7th gen with 4gb of RAM... How is that even possible? It's a trusted website
Hi there! Loved your video. But just wanted to know does it support apps like notion , good notes etc without much problem? Because I'm a med student and I'm in dire need of apps like those. My ipad 6th generation is a second hand one which I bought last year ( it was purchased in 2018)
I got a refurbished iPad 6 for $137 a few days ago but the touch id isn't working and the home button seems to be loose and slanted. I have a chance to return and I'm wondering if a should and get another one or just keep it.
Ya return it that’s the bad side about refurbished stuff it’s because your screen is a cheap unbranded non-OEM one I had an iPhone 6s Plus like that as well the home button was so loose that you could press it underneath of the glass
I bought this ipad on May 2019 and used it till first week of April 2020 because it gets internal motherboard damaged. I tried to call apple service centre and do some other thing which I can but there was COVID boom so nothing happened due this and I feel depressed 😔 After that I stored ipad on box . But i don't know what happened to me in April of 2023 i gave this ipad to my friend and he repaired me and i m so happy using after 3 years 😅
Thanks for your good review, what is your opinion about update to ios 17 on that ipad 6th gen. , im very worried about slowing down my device ?? or quick battery drains?
Great video, Is iPad work with create and play app? I want to get one for my daughter. Just want to make sure that this iPad still supports that app. I’ll will appreciate it. Thanks!

@@HowdyAleck. 6th gen is on its last year of support 9th gen will get at least 3 more and is much faster so i would get 9th gen or at least 8th gen.

It actually only has 2GB of RAM, which really doesn't feel like enough. Although to be fair I haven't reset it in a couple years.
