I’m 38 trying to learn tail stall and I wish you were my dad teaching me cause your tutorials are all on point. I can rock to fakie and hoping I can immerse myself into that vortex.
Getting back into skating after 15 years and being 38 and terrified of transition, I think I'll spend some time and try to learn these... Assuming I can find a quarter pipe small enough 😂
Switch mongo... is the real way to push switch. Good job. It’s easy to see I skated in the 90s because I still push switch mongo and skate in es accels... and not the skinny ones.
I fell down at the skatepark yesterday and jacked my knee. I'm going to start wearing knee pads. What do you think of the new Makita XGT line? I hear they are selling them in Canada
You can do that, but I'd go for the drop in first. You have more time to set up properly and concentrate on what you're doing...or rather, about to do. Once you commit, there's no turning back. It's go time! Start low, get comfortable, and work your way up!
I needed this. Been a street skater my whole life, but a decent park opened up near me recently. It's got street obstacles mixed in with transition and it's a fantastic park, but I need to get better with the transition stuff so I can really explore what the park offers. Ben, how come you don't nose stall?
I was scared of doing axle stalls like standing up untill I realixed I just need to really bend my knees, like really bend them. you'll have more controll and its easier to get up there! Atleast helped me a lot.
I didn't discover skateboarding until 39, so I'm way more risk averse than I was in my younger days. But progression is progression, nonetheless. I jusy try to get up higher in bowls and ramps each session. Before long I'll get to the coping. Thanks for the tips!
@@MichaelBerry1 Hats off to you for getting into it! I just turned 35 and falling seems to hurt way more than what I remember from 20ish years ago. Lol. Let me know if I can help in any way!
please make a video how to push with good balance and show how the feet position should be. I'm woman 30yo and just started skateboarding and turns out it's really hard just to push
That wind and leaf part made me feel all good inside.
Glad I wasn't the only one. That was sorta epic.
The rock to fakie to tail stall vortex is real
for me it was fakie rock (no pop) to rock fakie vortex. I learned them before tail stall
I really feel the winter vibes coming along.

I like when you're ending a video and you just leaf it where it is lol
Lol..I see what you did there!

Man, this makes me miss the UBC park, and Vancouver generally. Didn't realize this guy was out west
Nice work explaining it all. 👍

Caleeeeeb!!!! I've been wondering how you're doing :)
Finally someone says something about the 3 hour rock-fakie, tail stall runs
wtf? chad caruso said the same thing
I sometimes do the fakie crook accidentally when I go for a tail stall.
Nose stall revert is a good one
Another solid one! My very skills are non existent so this helps!
I've had tail stalls for a while but never tried the other 2. I'll give em a go tomorrow. thanks for making this!
never thought about the fakie crook, gotta try that
Rad video. I used to push switch mongo. Then I learned to push switch. Now switch mongo feels fucked up. 😆
Thanks man! I gotta get my transition game up

i recommend TSG pads; 60 euros for a basic set and theyre the best IMO
I ended up here to avoid work texts...thanks Ben and others.
Very nice
Would you recommend the tail stall as a learning tool to start dropping in?
only if u can push switch/fakie fast enough
You can do that, but I'd go for the drop in first. You have more time to set up properly and concentrate on what you're doing...or rather, about to do. Once you commit, there's no turning back. It's go time! Start low, get comfortable, and work your way up!

Ben, how come you don't nose stall?
what wheels do you use
Can you teach how to 5050 on a curb
thanks :)
You didn't show all the ways these could go wrong like flying over the coping into the other side 😆
Lol truth!
Hey thats the fun part
@@doingbackflips9265 ...also truth!
This is amazing tyyy
thank you for this vid!!
hey ben do you have any tips for switch?
yup. just start doing it!
Thanks i’ll practice the fake krook , i think ill make it but the revert i naver commited to it . Too old 😂
I'm still working on making it to the top of the quarter pipe without dying.
@Michael Berry you got this! Like he said just start small, even if it’s a back and not a true quarter. Build the confidence and your comfort levels!

@@ouzei Great advice!
The only way to understand how you are able to skate among all those leaves is thinking they are from a maple tree :D
I wanna progress my transition but my park only has a 5”5 and a 8 footer smh
I still Need to learn how to drop in
It’s beautiful up where you live
please make a video how to push with good balance and show how the feet position should be. I'm woman 30yo and just started skateboarding and turns out it's really hard just to push
Just keep doing it!! No video will ever give you what experience will. That fluidity you are looking for can only come from time in the saddle :)
I get it switch mongo is legal but it looks weird lol.
I was thinking the same thing lol
Here was me looking for 3 easy tricks. This guys clearly is unaware of how bad some of us really are on a board. WAAA HAA AHAAAAA.
Rock to fakie is so sketchy to me..
Sitting on my ass on the bottom the ramp wishing these were easy...
Winter is coming =\
I want some friends to go skateboarding with I live in Memphis
I need friends to skate with too. I live in Vista.
First
No you were not
@Orange_Man_Rad it’s gay
