    Is anyone else coming back to this podcast just to review SUSD's first impressions of Blood on the Clocktower?

    SHUX was amazing. Great job guys. Best con I’ve ever been to. You should be proud of what that weekend represents to the community- inclusive, friendly and welcoming. This was probably the best part of 2018 for me- so a big thank you!

      Agreed. It was like a warm hug. Which is a weird way to describe a con in which I hugged nobody, but that's just what it is.

    I wish you guys had linked back to this video when people were going crazy and getting upset about your review of BotC. You can definitely set how excited you were months before that review came out.
    I and many others in our weekly game group feel exactly how you do. It's by far our favorite game. We've played every week since hearing about it.

    Glad you got to play BotC! I played it at Gencon and loved it; I was the Saint and was just able to speak from this great place of moral authority despite having no info.

    • @SoZettaSlow
      @SoZettaSlow 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Saint btw is a town member who, if they get voted to death, causes the town to immediately lose. Super funny role, cause it makes everyone super wary and terrified if you claim it, but it also keeps you relatively safe from demons, cause they really want someone else to kill you.

    When Pip guessed "83" I almost did a spittake. Exactly the number I thought of.

    Pib is such a great addition. She should become a podcast regular😁
    I listen to the podcast in the wrong order. What is quite fun, because in onehpodcast they said how wierd that would be doing that.

    So how awkward would it be for someone to go to SHUX alone? I couldn't go this year but I should be in a better financial situation next year and hope to go then but probably can't convince any of my friends to go with me. :/

      I went alone and it was the best time ever! The atmosphere inspired by these wonderful people is super welcoming and it's so easy to meet people and join games. I hope to see you there!

      Echoing what J D said, I went alone. This was my first convention and I had *no* trouble finding games and meeting people. Vancouver is dope. SHUX is dope.

      Went alone for my birthday. Was incredible! Met lots of great people from all over. I started in the forums and arranged to meet with a few folks before it started. That helped a lot! Everyone was so friendly.

      I went with a friend and we met Brian ^ right up there ^
      There's a cute system of balloons, if you have spaces in a game you can get a helium balloon to put by the game. It works pretty well.

    Gjetost! Or Geiost. It's bad I knew what it was from the description... I know where to get some around PAX Unplugged (Cherry Hill, NJ) : www.wegmans.com/products/cheese-shop/goat-milk-cheese/goat-cheese/gjetost-cheese.html

    Oh dear, Blood on The clocktower sounded fun until I saw this. Now it just sounds really random. That's what I hated about One Night ultimate Werewolf as compared to Millers Hollow, which I preferred because it was less random. The players seem to be in control of their character. maybe actual gameplay is a little tighter I'm hoping? Because I would love to find a better option than Miller's Hollow, which is still my favorite of this style game so far.

      @JBearwa 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Swayzee68 I’ve played blood on the clock tower five times plus. It is not that random. You do not have to have a drunk. And some games it’s easy to Identify who is the drunk. There are Easily 20+ rolls so you don’t have to use them all as a moderator when you set up the game and hand out the role tokens.

    • @eamonnoflaherty2
      @eamonnoflaherty2 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I've played a few dozen times- yeah it's not that you have no info- indeed as a group you share lots and lots of info, and the fact that your own info might be suspect is just one bit of more info you need to hold to compare and contrast as you are trying to figure out (as a Good character) what is going on. It also lends some extra wriggle room for the Evil team.
      I've not played Miller's Hollow but have of a few of the genre; it's far and away better than anything else I've played.

    Star wars is Si-Fi? Nah, it's about as fantasy you can get without actually having dragons in it. XD

    SUSD's bewilderment at furries is both delightful and also a little frustrating. Everything is going to be a furry AU, it doesn't need a reason other than 'cause we wanna.

    Absolutely zero data sounds like no fun at all.

    • @SoZettaSlow
      @SoZettaSlow 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's not exactly "zero data", from my experience. It's data with both room for skepticism and plausible deniability.
      It makes the social aspect so much more important in social deduction.

      There is very little straightforward gameplay-mechanics definite info, more like plenty of 90% likely info, which you need to piece together. So brilliant :)

    I cannot believe there is such a thing as a SH&SD convention. Wouldn't it make more sense for them to go to tabletop conventions?... Next, a convention on this very specific cinema critic! Rejoice fans of cinema ..and this cinema critic!
