a family friend had the Renault 25 Turbo,i remember it had a sort of vocal computer inside for give information about car's problem. After 1 year the computer spoke for more than 5 minutes for all the problems of the car

Dont' know why, but I have soft spot for old turbo sedans. I like all in this list! Not the fastest nor practical or good looking, but... don't know man... (currently Alfa 166 v6 turbo owner )

You mean everything that isn’t a sports car or two door is turbocharged?!? LOL because almost none of the sports cars are turbocharged because all of the car companies have lost their minds. I miss the 90’s when they all offered turbo variants of basically anything with 2 doors worth owning!

My friend had a 200 Quattro and that was a sweet car. That inline 5 sounded so good with a quality exhaust and it was very dependable

Renault Safrane Bi-Turbo. What a car!
The "later version" of the Renault 25 with much more power.
renault 25 turbo and safrane biturbo, french manufacturers had something to compete with the germans at that time.
The renault safrane biturbo (268 hp restricted, 280hp full) hold the title of being the most powerful car ever produced by renault until last year which was beaten by the renault megane 4 rs (280hp).
Come on Renault, 25 years to make a slightly more powerful car.
Polo elec Renault 21 Turbo Quadra is too pretty awesome
Renault could not adapt as well as other manufacturer could in turbo-street legal produced cars. They were also know for their electric problems (especially the Renault 25) so it's not impressive that Renault has laying back. In the other hand, their V6 was the old PRV engine, it was a good engine but only that ... it was by far back in time. Do not misunderstand me, I'm a Renault owner, and a Renault lover, but it is (and it was) the reality.
s Santiago Ibarra you're right, the PRV engine was not well designed at first, but it can still handle some serious power while being reliable (venturi 400 for exemple 400hp with turbo) and it was an old engine.
renault 25 and safrane had their issues with electronics, but every brand in the 90's and 2000's were impacted too.
Today these cars are running stronger than ever .

I loved seeing one of my favourites ! The Safrane Biturbo :) Do a video about the Hatchbacks, because i want to see the Renault 5 GT Turbo :D
Here in Sweden the 940 turbo is really common both as tuner and as scrappy old daily drivers (since they never die). So maybe not as forgotten over here. :)

volvo and audi turbo cars are generally spoken alot about in Norway and Sweden. so the love for them is definately not forgotten.
Peugot 405 T16 sholuld be here too - nice sporty look, AWD, over 200HP, lightweight, has more space inside than most modern sedans..

Can't mention the Volvo 940 in a list like this without the 240. Same power plants, rear wheel drive still had a turbo option for the 240 TURBO and 240 GLT.

i am the proud owner of a renault 25 v6 turbo with 30 years old and 47000kms. ( the last 12 years he made only 2000kms)

Audi 200 "almost forgotten", that thing slapped American chins left and right in 1988 and kept on winning almost everything in South Africa during the 90's. What a legend + it's an Audi 5 cylinder

This! My first car and one of the best I've ever driven. Incredibly agile for its size. And the colossal turbo lag, gave every spool a sense of occasion :D

I love all of them. But the Alfa 75 is one of my favourites. I had 3 in my village. But one of them was the evolutione. Now I moved to another town and there is a guy who owns a turbo tuning shop. He have an Alfa 75 with 500hp. The only thing that is left untouched is the enterior. He also owns an Alfa 156 with 1000hp. He uses it to compete in drag racing events but it's road legal.
one worth mentioning is the Nissan Bluebird 1.8 Turbo (U11 and T12)

I had a Renault 25 v6turbo with an Ansa exhaust,it was a beast for the time.Got a Volvo turbo afterwards was also a great car,no traction control etc.. so wheel spun in third gear when the road was a bit damp.

You can get a car in NZ and Australia that is very similar to the lotus omega Carlton. It is called the ford falcon xr6 turbo. It is a sedan with a turbo straight six.

renault 25 & safrane are actually not sedans, it's hatchbacks/liftbacks like octavia, toledo, solenza, croma, XM etc.
They could be liftbacks, but not hatchbacks for sure! Octavia is a wagon.

Here in Mexico we dont have most of those cars or trademarks, but only big V8 and V6 sedans and one of those were the european vectra v6 turbo, I always wanted one of those, but I never have drove one

Peugeot 505 Turbo! (didn't expect my other car.. saab 2.8 aero v6 to get a mention it pulls like nothing else and only ever wants coil packs and coolant tanks so it deserves it)

There is one more. You forgot the renaulth saphere s competitor. The 166 2.0 turbo v6. And even the 164 turbo. Amazingly rare since those engines were made only for italy.

The vid also lacks the even more powerful Volvo 960 2.0 turbo 16V … that was the top of the range turbo at the time: more luxurious than the 940 and more powerful still with a B series engine. It was my dream car when I owned a 1990 940 16V saloon with only 139 PS….. good old times …...

Oh that one, it is good as well but I suggest you to buy KTM Duke 250 or 200. I prefer more on service and availability on products rather than it's performance, but it's up to you. I personally wanted the TNT 250 because of it's 360 degree firing interval, sounds like a baby BMW F800 and it's awesome to hear it daily + safeness (TNT 300 isn't sold on South East Asian countries caused by tax, etc.) TNT 25 is so close with KTM Duke 250 in terms of design and shape. Good luck finding that bike!
there was a pontiac sunfire turbo with a 1.8 ohc engine, as well as a grand prix turbo *i think* that has a turboed 3.1...the later ive only seen on an old motor trend review

Glad to see 2 Renault in the video. I have a Renault 18 with a 1.4 cleon-fonte engine and I'm planning to put a garrett on it. As an iron engine (almost the same, if it's not the same that the Renault 5 turbo has) i can afford a good performance boost

Audi S2 Sedan, 306 made.. And the subsequent S4 biturbo based on the A4 B5 model. Great for tuning.
1986 Audi 5000 CS Turbo, my first car and still my favorite car I've ever owned. I would have kept it but repair became too expensive.
Lotus carlton with 300 hp is what you can call hardcore sleeper.

Nice vlogs you do. Instead of the safrane and 25 i would have liked the 21 turbo better vbeause it was raced as well and a really fast car.
To me the 1989 Nissan Bluebird SSS-ATTESA Limited deserve to be on this list, its turbocharged 2 liter engine can put out 202 hp and 203 ft-lb. I don't know why nobody ever talked about it

I own a Saab turbo x it’s a nice car I’m just been having troubles with sway bars and ball joints and so on. They are a fun car but when GM got ahold of them they seemed to cheap out on some stuff. I’d go back to my 1999 Saab 9-5 anyday cause I always felt like that car was built to last
The chrysler spirit RT in México whe had 2 versión a 8v 2.5 turbo exclusive to the Mexican market and a 2.2 16v whit a head made by lotus known as the spirit DOHC also that featured a getrag transmission 💪
