I asked an Indonesian friend why there are so many insane builds in the country that are literally never driven by the owners of the cars themselves. He said its because they are the ultra-rich and they don't even know how to drive due to being chauffeured everywhere their whole lives. Talk about a golden cage.
Lucky mother sucker's. Props to their parents for working hard, but these kids with everything handed to them and they don't know how to appreciate it or share it with others.. not my kind of people.
yeah literally car culture in indonesia is cool but it's only available for the ultra rich since most of the working class here anyways can't afford to buy a car. That's why you'll mostly see motorcycles here cuz it's cheaper. Owning a car as a hobby is simply unrealistic for most enthusiasts unless you're a kid from a rich family. Speaking from an Indonesian 😭😭
These videos have me convinced, Southeast Asia is living a golden age. Despite all the obstacles they have to jump to even own a car, which makes all of that even more impressive.
Yea, as an Indonesian, I admit it's true. So, a second-hand R34 costs nearly $200,000. A 360z even costs almost the same! Even all second-hand Civic EGs cost up to $30,000. So yeah, it kinda hard to be car enthusiast, but at least a Cefiro costs up to $3,000 💀💀
What probably most viewers won't realise, as Dino touches on here, is quite the extent of costs to even have some of those vehicles in Indonesia - taxes and import duties are literally off the scale. So if you see a money car like say the M3 Touring, McLarens, Porsche etc - that car is WAY more expensive to own there than most viewers would appreciate... Like, crazy expensive. Even down to the slightly more affordable but still cool JDM stuff. So, if you can afford to buy a car like that in Indonesia, you will not only be an enthusiast but quite wealthy and will want to show off your prized car by tuning it up and going all out. One thing that does interest me is to what extent do grey imports exist there? As in that brand new Nissan Z and the M3 Touring... I can't help but thinking that some owners are taking chances by importing vehicles and running them "unofficially" so to speak, false paperwork etc. I wonder if Dino has asked the local guys about this...? Cheers as always Dino - I wish I had your job!! Haha! 😎
I believe the import rule is that you can only bring new cars up to a couple years old (2 years?) and after that you can forget about it since it would be illegal, hence the new Z. Unless you have connections that know a way around the rule and can somehow bring the car into the country you can give up on that car you wanted, a bit depressing but that's just how it is. But hey nice coverage as always!
There used to be a workshop who imports a full car, parts by parts and re manufacture the car here and claimed that the car is new😊😊 therefore it gets "legal" paperwork. Though the car is registered as the workshop's brand not the original brand😊
what an amazingg video man I loved it the cars are amazing . these videos are my second fav in this channel. first be the car shop videos around Japan :P. Great job Dino as always man great work keep it up ( love seeing more Rx8)
Most of the car owners in this show that have these high levels of modifications are rarely or almost never drive these cars on the street in Indonesia like the jdm cars and the supercars. They usually store it in their garages due to the road conditions and congestions in the major cities in indonesia. And when they want to drive in out, they'll drive it in group convoy at night because the streets are having less fewer cars on the roads, and usually, they only drive it to certain hangout spots to socialise with other enthusiasts. Because for daily car they drive normal cars or fuel efficiency vehicle due to really bad traffic congestion situation, especially in jakarta. But, otherwise, the modified cars in this video are commonly used, like the Honda jazz and eg. They might use it often than other cars. If you have been to jakarta, you will know why
Thank you bro Dino DC, you have come back to Indonesia to make a vlog at Elite Showcase 2024. I am very proud that you can come back to Indonesia. Welcome, I hope you are always healthy🥰🙌🏻🙌🏻
Has anyone ever made a global calendar for quality car shows like this? I would love to incorporate a holiday with a quality show. The problem is they are always already over when I see them on channels like Dino DC.
Hey Dino if your in England and you love the SLS AMG maybe try and catch up with Shmee #150 to go see his SLS AMG, he owns one, maybe check out the Shmusium while your there too, to see his entire collection.
I've seen some 80s 90s toyota parked in the road when i was studying in indonesia, they're more related to Finnish Amis in the 90s for me as their cars are modified with new tyres, Spoiler, Bodykit, stickers, muffler and anything else
One day i will have one of the cars that is in this vid, realistically probably a Kijang SUV but hopefully an S2000, or a 650s, or a 997. A man can dream no?
I just laughing hard when hear Dino call it "Toyota Kaji". For sure that car has visited Mecca before 🤣 Actually, there are many Toyota "Kaji" in Mecca with special 2.7 engine for Arab market only and made in Indonesia.
You gotta go around to some of the shops in Malaysia 😮 I’m sure people would love to see all aspects of shops from the whole in the wall to the top quality locations😊
Just car guys, like me I love them. But the adults like my parents, uncles, and aunts all think these are ugly shit boxes even though the builds cost about the same as their new lexus suvs lol

Those cars cannot attainable for most Indonesian😅
3:27mins- Best Paint Job i have ever seen in a while. I'm soo Curious how they did that on top of Carbon
That evo9 converted Mitsubishi Mirage is absolutely the most unique car of the show

No don’t really touch on stuff like that I just concentrate on the cars
M3 Touring is actually sold officially by BMW Indonesia. As for the Z, it is imported by grey importer just like 98% of R35 exist here
Thailand 321%😅
It's crazy how you know the type of every wheel! 😂 But also the "prelude" was a DA6 integra - my first fast car in NZ. Awesome video as always!
it is so nice to see your channel growing Dino! You deserve it man!
Thank you!

Lots of jdm from 2000's and 90's came to the country since they new
18:49 the white EG reminds of one from Thailand, the build is incomplete but they took the shell to a show and layed out all the parts next to it
I see you're overloaded when you don't notice that first ek hatch was a 4 door hatch lol
If you want to see the build vidoe just see in my pages. Thanks
Some impressive builds there. Had no idea they had such an active scene. Thanks for covering it.
EK four door hatch! Waaaat! 😮???
Aloha🌴

Heard that in southeast Asia, all import cars are at least triple the price 😮😮😮
Haha, in indonesia is the most expensive in sea 🤣😭
@@adekkarobydinata Singapore
@@adekkarobydinata Singapura paling mahal, mobil biasanya aja lebih mahal ketimbang mobil biasa di Indo
200% on luxury tax only.. And that's not the only tax.. 😂. But singapore is the most expensive.

As a indonesian, mostly JDM in my country are overpriced. But, the car like celica,RX8,86, evo X, and miata can be founded with a good deal 👍

Modification in Indonesia is not inferior to other countries and is really amazing, friends..?
They go full out, makes Japan looks like it’s just not trying hard enough
3:16 Maybe because there are no rules .😂
It's a shame that the tax to enter this cool car is very expensive
Tax not for people 😂

Well you see this is an upper class thing and yes some of don't pay those taxes whatsoever
why there's some owner left their car mirror flipped in the show case like this
Auto feature on German cars.
Man, you passed by a completely hand made Shelby Cobra..
Yeah was cool
26:34
❤❤
Kijang v8💀💀💀
Man, I love all your content, but I always think it's a shame you're not interested in vip cars.
I do like the look of vip
Foreigner POV: Indonesia and the people are poor
Indonesian: good, at least we have lot of fancy cara
The world loves these cars, yet manufactures want to make boring refrigerators, go figure.
Just car guys, like me I love them. But the adults like my parents, uncles, and aunts all think these are ugly shit boxes even though the builds cost about the same as their new lexus suvs lol
❤📹👍
Need something fast in case you see a leopard or jaguar roaming the streets Indonesia
