Very clear, very clear. also useful for those who don't know English. I have a small acacia forest in Tuscany, Italy, and I need to limit its fast growth.
Great video, but I have one question: At the end it says to cut the holding wood trigger below the back cut making sure not to cut below the wedges but it looks like it was cut below the wedges. Just making sure I’m not missing anything. Thank you for the explanation of the bore cut
@@OveBakken I couldn’t tell. He obviously knows what he’s doing so I’m sure he didn’t , especially since he said not to. I was just making sure it wasn’t an oversight or whatever. Thank you
@@rayl.b.4438 my theory is that the purpose of cutting below the wedges is to not accidentally cut into the wedges. I think 'beneath' in the video should be replaced with 'between', because if you cut between the wedges you will likely hit the wedges... Bad language/explanation from my side, please bear with me. Have a nice day!
Definitely the best I’ve seen yet on video ! I’ve tried a few times with success . Is this necessary even on a tree having a significant lean or is it more for making sure you can wedge it when lean not so good ? Thank you
Allowed... but, hinge still guided tree sufficiently, I think.agree with you, larger hinge probably better. Loved this demo. Back cut could have been a tad higher?
True, but during the face cut I think he was more focused on getting the direction and angle right rather than being kind to the saw. He got it done super safely and effectively IMO. Great vid.
please explain what happens if you cut beneath the wedge?...Im assuming it will cause lean back,,am i right...sorry for dumb question but some of us are noobies hahah
It's a mix between boreal and more southern hardwood forest. White, red and black spruces, balsam fir, white pine, red and sugar maples, yellow and white birch. Some American beech and red oak, but they aren't as plentiful as they were back in the day.
The chain doesn't look dull; I see big woodchips coming off the chain when pushed a little into the wood. So I'm guessing you meant to just state that the chain should be sharp before attempting to do this. Which I totally agree with.
@@mikaelohlson5120 maybe that should have been your 1st reply not your negative one. It's nice to be nice to people Mikael. Would be good to have explanations of this in your great videos tho

Super understandable! That demo on the stump top made it crystal clear.

I rewatched this bit a few times and I don't think he cut below the wedges. At least not enough to mention.
@@OveBakken I couldn’t tell. He obviously knows what he’s doing so I’m sure he didn’t , especially since he said not to. I was just making sure it wasn’t an oversight or whatever. Thank you
I think he ment to cut below the back cut but to keep the cut between the wedges and to not cut as far as to be cutting under the wedges.

Now im an expert.
Just playing. Awesome video.
That was the best tree cutting video I have had ever seen!!!! I dont get out much...........
Super entertaining and excellent instruction!!! 🥊K. O.
Thank you. This was a great example
Very informative video. Just one note, the hinge failed and caused the tree to roll. My guess is the hinge was too narrow.

Looks like the tree may have hit another tree?
Yep, canopy rolled off another tree.@@arzthaus

Great video 💯
Great video
How many inches above the face cut should the back cut be? same as normal?
Good job bro 👍
Broke the hinge and twisted off the stump?
hit another tree
It probably had a side weighted crown or had side lean. He probably should have left the hinge a bit wider on the opposite side to the lean, 👍🪓🌲🇮🇪
Great vid !!!! Thanks

Nice work. Dandy little saw - Husky all the way! What types of wood you have mostly out in PEI?

A good demo but I wouldn't stand directly behind the tree when cutting the holding strap at the back. Stand off to the side, 👍🪓🌲🇮🇪
Fantastic!!!
Best working with chainsaw..

@@mikaelohlson5120 would it not be better using a tree thats needing cut down instead of using a perfect one? Sarcasm qas a bit poor too mind you mug

Why not? I agree though - I personally prefer to scavenge dead wood.
Yet I'm curious is why this size tree even needed a hinge cut it off why not just cut it let it fall?
