  • In this episode we sit down with renowned Polaroid photographer Rhiannon Adam as she prepares for the dearMoon mission to orbit Earth's moon. Rhiannon will be the first openly queer person in space, the first Irish citizen to ever enter space, and will be the only woman on the upcoming dearMoon mission. Best of all - she will be shooting instant film in outer space! We hope you enjoy this very special episode with one of our very favorite photographers.

Hello, I see that Rhiannon is using a Polaroid 195. This camera tool peel-apart instant film which was 3.25" x 4.25". I didn't think that anyone (Polaroid or Fuji) still made peel-apart instant film for this camera. I have a Polaroid 800 which I think also produces images that are 3.25 x 4.25" but the film required may be different from that of the Polaroid 195. I would love to be able to shoot with my Polaroid 800 again. So much fun!

Where is she going to get all that peel apart? Gotta be a big stash out there somewhere.

Funny thing, my project for Polaroid Week last week was Polaroids in Space. Now it's happening for real. (Although it turns out that astronauts actually used SX-70s on Skylab to document changes in the sun's appearance from orbit to orbit, so this will actually be the second or third use of Polaroids in space.)

Wait what?! Are there any available records of those Polaroids from skylab??
