hey thanks for the video man I'm not originally from Virginia Beach but I did go to high school down thereI went to princess Anne high School it's been awhile since I've been down there I'm originally from Maryland me and my wife are going to vacation in Virginia Beach this week again thanks for the video
It needs a lot more work. Road is too wide along the shore, the sidewalks too narrow, buildings are dull and uninteresting. Other places do beachfront better.
Awesome! I use to live there bak in the 1970's and early 80's for about 9 years. It sure has changed a lot. Hopefully I will get back there one day to see it in person.
That ain’t downtown….that’s the Oceanfront. Town Center is our downtown. The city has changed so much since I moved there in 1995. I’m a the true definition of a “Beach Boy” I love my city. No other place in the US gives you a little Southern Hospitality and East Coast Vibes all at the same time
Ah, Virginia Beach. It always shocking to me how different the vibe and atmosphere is in the Hampton Roads area compared to what I'm used to in RVA but otherwise, great video!
There are some locals that call the Town Center next to Pembroke Mall the True Virginia Beach Downtown. I know, I was one of them when I lived there for 21 Years (1990-2011).
I was summer work and travel participant in 2016. And I spent 3 moungts in Virginia Beach !! Nice to see familiar places, I enjoued walking down the streets. And Virginia become for me the face of the USA. Love it. Hallo to Gina and Sharon from Barcalays Towers))
Boomer local here, saw the title and thought "Aha! downtown Virginia Beach, there is no downtown". Reads description, explained in first paragraph :-)
you should vote in people who will change that - place needs a real downtown with emphasis on pedestrians.

No problem. Glad you enjoyed it.
This is great as someone who hasn't been to VA beach since 2004 to see how much it's changed is mind blowing still a beautiful city tho
I live there
@@ObvCJ Do you like living in VA Beach?
@@ShadowJ20 Yeah except the weather is just OK it’s not that good

Oceanfront is more interesting

How are vibes opposite , compared to VA beach? Curious and considering the area as my next move
Interesting how lots of roads are named after various Seas and Oceans (Atlantic, Pacific, Arctic, Mediterranean, Baltic)
I lived there one summer. Jimi Hendrix had a concert, and I went. I worked at two different hotels on Atlantic Ave.
I lived there 1981 - 1983 and graduated from Green Run High School in 1982. I went back in 2016 and love the area. I hope I can return before I die.

This is very because this is just a strip, or boardwalk which most locals avoid lol, the Town Center was/is supposed to become the downtown area
This is Oceanfront. Downtown VAB is VA Beach Blvd near Independence.
Eh...VA Beach doesn't really have a downtown (they're trying). Oceanfront is the most popular area so I went with that for the video.
This is why people are so confused about this area , The Ocean front isn’t considered Downtown , That’s Townpoint Center ( Pembroke area )
Hi! Been there one time and I love that place! Wish I could come back again even it is still pandemic.
Oh, and very cool showing the route 58 shield. Few people would pick up on that.
Thanks. Yeah I felt like people would enjoy the routes being shown that are being driven on.

2:38 me and my family stayed at the Seahawk Motel.(to the right) We also had breakfast at the pancake house(to the left 2:46) great vacation!
I can still feel my impatience sitting at that light in front of the Cavalier🤣
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome
Would you be Able to do some around the area of old Dominion university ? Moving there very shortly
I'm not in the area right now. Perhaps on the next trip though.
The palm trees look surprisingly good
What people don't know is during the winter. They are covered in plastic so that is why they are still good.
Yea Palms don't naturally grow in VA
How long does it take to cross the tunnel!?
17:13😂”fuck yo bike”😂
That was a very enjoyable video.
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
I attended 🏫 there when I was a kid. My neighborhood where I used to live is not far from Trantwood Elementary .
Va Beach town center which is west of here is their downtown.
That is not downtown VA Beach, that is the VA beach oceanfront… 13 min from Downtown VA Beach
I’ve never been to VA beach. It’s on my bucket list.
Yes indeed. One of the most popular beaches on the East Coast.
Magnificent ❤️
19:20 they start playing our song!
Wished you turned right and went all the way.
👍🏾
Going by lack of people and traffic Im guessing terrorist season is over and kids are back to school. LOL
I drive this stretch everyday
Sounds like it would be quite the enjoyable commute.
The old cavalier hotel where Adolph Coors committed suicide
That’s my Challenger
Nice. That's pretty cool that you found the video.
This is not Downtown Virginia 😂. Down town Virginia is town center. That was the ocean front
I know but the Oceanfront is so much more interesting.
Would be Cool if Virginia Beach had a Skywheel like Atlantic City and Myrtle Beach has.!
They do, it is on 16th street in the "amusement park" but it is much smaller then others.
City could benefit from an appropriate tree planting campaign.
Money rule
It’s a mess down here since the BLM rallies and all of that. It will be cleaned up though.
The downtown area could be a lot better. Too much concrete, not enough beauty. Buildings are eww
Police brutality.
Really? Here?
No. Crook stupidity.
