      No problem. I've been wanting to do that video for awhile now. It's to bad my regular editor and camera man is back in school. I really wanted to make a better video of it lol. Did you need a close up of the log grapple to see how it's attached? I could probably make a video of that pretty quick.

      @@gardnersgroundhogminiexcavator Yes, a close up of how the grapple attaches would be great! But, don't you have a 'quick connect' device? Does that matter? I don't have one. But, any info is helpful. Was the grapple much different/better than just using the small bucket or the ripper? I was thinking it might be nice for debris removal? Thanks again!

      @@YamahaC7SRG The quick attach will only work with my buckets because of the center to center distance of the pins. The log grapple also mounts differently The ripper is another attachment that won't work with the quick attach..

      @YamahaC7SRG The log grapple did seem to have a better grip on the logs but if you had to dig anything out half buried the ripper is the way to go in my opinion. It really depends what your trying to do. Loose items you might better off with the wider grip of the log grapple.

      @@gardnersgroundhogminiexcavator Okay, thanks. I didn't understand that the quick connect doesn't work with everything. I thought the grapple might mount differently because it looks different from the other attachments I have. It seemed that the ripper did a great job on the logs you moved but I do have some large debris piles on my property that I plan to move to a burn pile. I was hoping the grappler might be able to handle the smaller, loose, random stuff. I was also hoping the grappler might be able to be used kind of like a rake attachment, as well, to scrape the ground and gather up stuff...

      Thumb and bucket don't work any better?

      @gardnersgroundhogminiexcavator  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You could pick up small stuff with a thumb and bucket but to lift and hold a log the bucket couldn't hold it's grip or even grab hold of larger diameter log because of the way it's made. I have four different log grapples plus a rake and a ripper and all of these out perform a bucket when it comes to lifting Logs.

    Anyone else just thinking the whole pile may roll apart when he was grabbing that bottom one?

    Interesting ! Tough yet powerful mini excavator. What brand it is? Kubota or IHI ? Looking for the gripper for mine KH027 Kubota !

      This is a Groundhog KH14G which I purchased from Groundhog Equipment in Middleburg PA. Give them a call and they should be able to fix you up with a log grapple for your machine.

    im not seeing how this is more useful then just using the thumb, if anything you are having a harder time getting that top log off the pile since the pinch point is not adjustable like when using the thumb

      Well I've used every grapple attachment Groundhog Equipment has offered so far and I have used the thumb with a bucket, rake, and ripper to move logs and firewood. The log grapples have the ability to grab larger logs and hold them longer giving you the ability to cut them into firewood at waist height. You can move smaller logs with the thumb but it will not usually hold on as well with these little one ton Mini Excavators. If you want a good alternative to buying a log grapple you should think about using a thumb and ripper. The ripper is definitely one of the best multi purpose attachments allowing you to move logs, dig stumps, pick rocks, rip up pavement and so on. The heavy duty rake would be another idea to use with the thumb. You can see all of these attachments in action in my other videos. Hope this is some help and thanks for watching.

      The Groundhog KH14G mini excavator I believe starts at$8,900 but you should call Groundhog Equipment in Middleburg PA to get an updated price on the log grapple.
