I miss this versiom of Joe. No backup singers. No horns. Marshalls Plexis, Jubilees and other growly amps. Blues Rock. Not the powered down Joe we have now. You know, Beastmode Joe.
Not only do I second you claim,....I'd go as far as to say he is even,....dare i say,...better than those giants. Simply based on the fact that his ability to cover everything from death metal,...to folk bluegrass is unmatched in my estimation. Guys like Josh Smith and Derek Trucks are technically more proficient at their prospective genres sure,...but Joe is a Jack of All and master of many. I know I'll catch heat for it,....but all you gotta do is watch and listen. Proof is in the 59 Lester screaming like a banshee. There is one up and coming monster that may give Joe a run down the road though. And that monster is Marcus King. Put a B.O.L.O. on him for sure.
F---ing GOD like gift to play guitar like this. Devastatingly brutal player. Even people who rate JB as one of the best ever don't fully appreciate just how good he is. Dynamics to die for. Master manipulator. Brutal, brutal player.
I've seen this a dozen times but I'm glad it now lives here on the official Joe B TH-cam Channel. These beautiful guitars were meant to be hard, and this is my favorite recording of this and I'm glad that it's here so I can hear it in all its glory. The only thing is that I wish it was a LITTLE BIT LOUDER!
As much as I love whitesnake, Coverdale seems to hate sharing the limelight. I think he would not have adequate grace to share the stage with Joe the way Eric Clapton and others have done so gracefully.
*Agreed. I've seen several here on YT & this particular performance is the best. Sweaty JB in a slick suit absolutely killing it with that Les Paul. And his entire band is clicking like a finely tuned machine. It just doesn't get much better!* *Hey Joe, thanks for posting these vids!*
These guys dropped into that proverbial pocket and just grooved the hell out of it! It's a special thing for sure and when it works its PFM - pure fu**ing magic! These Tour de Force shows were just soooooo good!
THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT, YES!!!! Glad you put it on the official channel and didn't just get rid of it forever. That '59 LP needs the world to see it in all its glory.
Screamin' Hot!🔥 Excellent transition to Zeppelin & back again! Not to mention the top notch co-ordination on the light show. Deserves more that one thumbs up like👍👍👍👍🤟🤟🤟
Joe's great and the band are absolutely smokin'. I'd never heard of Tal Bergman before I saw this clip but now I'm a huge fan, the guy's drumming is phenomenal, absolutely world class.
.this video is awesome, but seeing JB perform this live is breathtaking, mindblowing, one with the universe awe inspiring...something I will never forget🌻🧡🌻
In Joe's own words, (and Billy Gibbons' too) "Tone is all in the hands". I'm buying into that theory more and more as I play more. I've got some pretty nice guitars, and they sound better than the low end guitars, but I believe there's as much tone in a 2020 Gibson Les Paul Standard as a 1960 Gibson Les Paul.
Since watching Joe’s “livestreams”, I’ve come to realize what extraordinary musicians Tal, Carmine, Arlan, and Lenny are! They are all really GREAT! Tremendously creative! And I especially love the Prince of Pandemonium…Arlan!
I wish he'd go back to this line up, way more charisma than the current one which has served its' time I'm afraid. Joe is now himself a legend and so doesn't need to surround himself with the best of the last generation (as fabulous as they still are) but should bring on the next lot. Stick to a legends line up on the cruises and get a new talnet band for touring?
"Spectrum",del gran Billy Cobham entre ZZ Top, Whitesnake y Zeppelin: GENIAL!!!! Una bestia sagrada, don Joe Bonamassa (igual creo que la versión del mismo tema en el Royal Albert Hall, con ésta misma formación, es levemente superior a ésta)!!
back in the day it went like this, got me a pocket full of horses! look it up and learn kids, zz top was all about the nan and woman sexual overtones. great job as always JB!
8:32 yeah love JB's 'go' at Jimmy Page's solo on live 'Dazed & Confused' and it's a pretty clean & mean attempt. But I gotta tell ya JB unless you done the coke you can't do the stroke. Page's solo is outta dis world and will simply never be beaten.
What an idiotic comment - that you gotta be high to be a great musician. Page was good, but dude - HE FREAKING DIED!!! You wanna hold him up as an icon? He rocked, fer sher, but he was an alcoholic druggie. Choose your idols carefully. JB is incredible.
@@AncientCreature-i2o i mean, eventually his comment will be right. And glorifying the use of drugs is a stupid thing on it's own kind, so i share that sentiment. Still an idiot, both of them, don't get me wrong.
I am not a guitar player or expert…can someone please explain what is happening at about 3:18 through 3:25 when he’s literally playing two different riffs at the same time…there’s the background strings he’s playing and then over it is like real sharp beeps almost…like what in the wizardry fuck
You may be cool, but you'll never be as cool as Joe with a hand in his impecable suit pocket, with shades, looking at Tal Bergman destroy his drums with a Gibson Les Paul on your shoulder. (9:57)
After seeing him use high powered Tweed Basemans and Twins for so long it's weird seeing a wall of Marshall's behind him.lol. I'd be willing to bet though,.....somewhere in the back there is a 62 Tweed or 2,...movin some serious air carrying the main load. Just a hunch though.
Glad Joe is playing with another bassist these days. I saw him around this period, and Carmine was there. If one note would do, he'd play 5. It turned Joe's sound into an avalanche of sonic sludge. I wasn't alone in not digging it. After 4-5 tunes, I looked around the hall (I was 3rd row). There was polite applause, but nobody seemed too into it. Maybe just an off night, but they seemed to be just phoning it in. Another tune and I got up and left. It was that bad. After hundreds of shows, I can only think of one other that I reached my limit with and left.
Carmine Rojas is killing it on bass!!!!!
Absolutely killing it on that bass!
I miss this versiom of Joe. No backup singers. No horns. Marshalls Plexis, Jubilees and other growly amps. Blues Rock. Not the powered down Joe we have now. You know, Beastmode Joe.
Joe bonamassa the best of rock blues....
I fucking dare to say it, Joe will go down in history with all the great blues artists like BB King, Clapton and many more.
agree!!!
AGREE!!!!

So that you guys know, he played with BB King when he was 13.
Better!! Yes - although maybe not the innovator - such as Hendrix!!
F---ing GOD like gift to play guitar like this. Devastatingly brutal player. Even people who rate JB as one of the best ever don't fully appreciate just how good he is. Dynamics to die for. Master manipulator. Brutal, brutal player.
Totally agree, the best guitarist on the planet 👍
And he had a great voice and looks so slick, 😍

THE BEST!!
Haha agree!!!!
Back here several years later to hear it again, it's just so good.
Who doesn't want to see Joe do a full blown version of "Still of the Night" on his next tour? Guest vocals by David C. himself?
Few years back, they would’ve been a great idea. Coverdales not exactly in good voice anymore.
As much as I love whitesnake, Coverdale seems to hate sharing the limelight. I think he would not have adequate grace to share the stage with Joe the way Eric Clapton and others have done so gracefully.
is that Bernies "Beast"?
@@hegartyj1 Would probably work if he did it with BCC - Glenn Hughes can still outscream DC to this day.
The greatest guitarist on God's green Earth. Just ask him.
This is my favourite performance of this great song - ever!
Love you Joe✌

the man!!!playing this forever, what a jam!!!
Agree!!!!!
I love when he plays the Marshalls. My favorite tones. Amazing.
Great medley! I've seen ZZ Top live 3 times and Just Got Paid is always my favorite song.
Further proof that Joe Bonamassa is a monster guitar player, what a solo!

Love the bass line at 1:26. Drives the turnaround without taking too much attention away from the rest of the band. Carmine Rojas is amazing!
What an absolutely fantastic version of this song! He actually covered Billy Cobham from the Spectrum album, and Zeppelin all in one jam!
Joe Bonamassa.... You ROCK 🎶🎸 ☮️🇺🇸
I hope Joe never stops playing, that he plays forever!
Screamin' Hot!🔥 Excellent transition to Zeppelin & back again! Not to mention the top notch co-ordination on the light show. Deserves more that one thumbs up like👍👍👍👍🤟🤟🤟
was thinking the same about Zeppelin

To me this is Joe’s best performance ever!

Joe and Band taking the blues rock to the highest level. Amazing! Please play some tribute to Jeff Beck!
Joe's great and the band are absolutely smokin'. I'd never heard of Tal Bergman before I saw this clip but now I'm a huge fan, the guy's drumming is phenomenal, absolutely world class.

You're all looking and sounding great Joe. ✌

I cannot believe he sold this guitar. It has the best tone of any burst on the planet IMO

I love Joe so much! His guitar playing is stellar, but so is he as a person. Always gracious with his time.
Compelling, breathtaking! Total mastery of the instrument and so creative.
Beautiful concert, humbling and equally beautiful encore 👏👏👏👏👏
Way better than the album version. Love the tone of the guitar and the way he sings live.
Agree!!
Joe, this is GREAT! ❤️.¸¸.☆
I love your 2009 RAH performance of this song the very best, but you are always superb every time!
This is one of my favorite songs that Joe covers.
Best version ever! Gives me goosebumps. From a drummers perspective gotta love the driving power and rhythm of this version. Bonamassa the Legend
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS was AWESOME!!
This is the best live version when the drums slow down and he goes into that riff with the phasers.
I LOVE YOU JOSEPH! YOU ARE THE VERY BEST❤
Smokin Joe Bonamasa
Man I just LOVE the Still of the night riffs in there! I blast this song frequently when running / exercising.
OMG! Fantastic!! Wishin’ I was here 🎶🎸
Joe is amazing
All the subtleness of a runaway locomotive, hitting perfectly on all cylinders!
Super!💯Thank you Joe💯
Love his version of this song
Joe is getting better with age. Awesome.
Naaaaa... Whitesnake con tu blues. Me saco el sombrero Joe.

Breath takingly good. 😳 Richard
This was back around 2010 I think. Incredible take on the ZZ Top classic, aspiring guitarist all over TH-cam copy Joe on this song.
So cool 😎

Great job. The real way is open e tunning slide on second finger.
Was that Vince Neil on drums 😆

Vince Neil killing it on the drums.

Would love to see with Joe in showdown with Jimmy Page on the Theramin and then they could have a guitar battle.
It wasn't possible to upload this with even lower volume ?
The audio on this seems curiously low. Not usual for Joe.
what genius put the m and n keys together on a keyboard
bass players a badass too.
