@pagick9 I bought mine along with the bike from Mod Bikes, they don't sell their sidecars separately from the bikes, but Wicked Thumb E-bikes does sells their sidecars along with the hardware.
Staying flexible can really save time. But you need to be good at looking down the road so you don't get boxed in with no where to get out. I'm impressed you noticed my method.
I've been thinking about building a sidecar for my Mx650 I have modified but I want a seat for my son to ride w/ me... Haven't seen many videos on the subject so thank you.
I've looked as well besides the fiberglass one available to buy and some home-brews that look sketchy there is not much. I did like the "Side bike" design someone made but its for kids not dogs.
I just got a new Honda Super Cub C125. I was surprised to find not many side car project for this bike. Where can I start to educate myself to build one?
It depends on your skills. I've seen the ones you can buy on the with an ebike on a bike path with a 80# dog. It looks like a black bean. And I saw a plank of plywood with shag carpet on it. The dog was a old bull dog. The trick is mounting it to the cub. Its the risky part spreading the load. Prototyping! I always say " The next time I make it it's going to be great!" Good luck
Hi! Awesome project, so many fantastic aspects! One question, I had heard that having the sidecar wheel at the same position as the bike rear wheel caused issues in being able to turn properly - preference to be slightly forward or rearward - how does you bike turn?
I don't have any problem turning except for the learning curve balancing in turns due to not being able to lean. I keep the seat low so this is less of an issue. If the back wheels were in different positions then I expected turning would cause scrubbing the back tires to some amount. Think about a trike motorcycle or tricycle.
looks awesome! great job. question - do you find it hard finding a place to ride it? where can you ride it legally(bike lanes)? can you go on trails/paths? any issues on the road?
IMS in North Hollywood. I showed what gauge and hardness. I think it was 3003 hardness and a little thinner than 1/16. Ims sells small sheets as well as larger. I bought 24" X 48" Ims = Industrial Metal Supply and they have other locations
I disagree. trike wheels are in a line. if you have them spaced differently it like a Tandem trailer. Hard as hell to turn. And though I was sure I asked my dog who rides in it and sorry but he agrees with me.
I'd rather make a trailer out of aluminum and at least I'll have a stop light and turn signals and at least my trailer will cling to the trunk and not to the wheels because if the Trailer clings to the wheels then the wheel will be broken and the wheel will break and you don't have to write that you can't put a stop light on a bike and the turn signals are still as far as possible on a regular high-speed bike and on a fatbike, not on an electric bike and not on an electric fatbike, and I also forgot to write that my trailer will be closed for all countries and also made of aluminum First, we buy aum from electro great Secondly, we buy a headlight in front with a signal from an electric bike And thirdly, we buy a stop signal and turn signals from an electric bike And fourthly, we buy a handlebar extension on a bike And fifth, we buy turn signals from moto to put in front And sixth, we buy a 12 volt converter in order for the turn signals from the moto to work both in front and on the trailer and a stop signal And in the saddle, we buy an outlet for the trailer And in addition, we buy a turn signal from moto on the trailer, as well as a stop signal And at 9 and at the bike Camper, all this will be what I wrote above And at 10 on the Dog Trailer, too, that's all that I wrote above
Wow i'm exhausted reading that. Period. The #1 advantage with a side car is when you're riding along from Santa Monica to Huntington dog beach you can pet your dog. (Mic drop)
@@quintonburton9205 “mad dogs & Englishman “ bike shop in California. They sell several styles. I just googled “bike sidecar for sale “ And it came up. If you aren’t in California figure out the brands they offer and google that.
a trailer that clings to the trunk is a billion times better than a side trailer catch a dislike if you don't know that a passenger trailer for a bicycle is better than a side trailer where only one person can sit is firstly and secondly trailers for a bicycle are a billion times better unhooked Trailer and attached another let's say cargo or let's say a bicycle camper or let's say a carriage for a bicycle where both two people and three can sit, or let's say a dog trailer where at least there will be a stop light and turn signals, unlike your bike
You really have a strong opinion on what I ride. Since you're mentioning tail lights. I have the Ural sidecars taillights on my bike/sidecar. When I ride with my wife we can chat, Lastly, My sidecar is far more bitchen than a trailer. One more comment is Im thinking you are not an English speaker or at least not as a first language. Noting that. I thank you for handling the translation.
Wow, nice work!
I have a fat tire ebike with Sidecar, but I didn't build mine.
Store bought sidecar? whats it called.

The bike industry needs to do this...great job !
The best part is when your dog rides you can pet them.
I like the way you do things.
Somewhat simple but adequate and not over-thinking
The end results

awesome build, hope to see a video of this riding with your dog😍
summer time!
Very impressive work!
That's awesome! i've been wanting a sidecar for my dog but they're too expensive. The cheapest one I found is 2k! Probably will go this route
something I wish I showed. Its easy to pet your dog when riding in sidecar! they love it.
I want sidecar for my ebike too
Great!
Mad skills!
thanks.

Cool
Doggles, got-um. But they get complaints after 20 min
Make me one for my dogs ! 💕
The best part of a sidecar instead of kiddy trailer is you can pet your dog while riding.

anywhere. I was concerned about it but in southern calif I have never been stopped. beach, street, parks.
This is awesome!
Thanks. I've made many unique items and its my favorite too. P.S. your my first comment on it. Congrats
Try a master sheetmetal guy called the TinMan videos i teach aircraft sheetmetal....full reccomend him
Awesome project. What gauge is the aluminum and where did you source it?

Thanks! All you need now is a doggy-sized leather helmet and goggles!
Typically the sidecar wheel should be ahead of the bikes rear wheel not in line with it.
