  • I went for a long walk (a "thru-hike") around the Netherlands, stitching together the Kustpad (Dutch Coastal Path), Pieterpad and Grenslandpad (Borderland Path) to form an 1800 km loop round the country.
This video covers the Grenslandpad, or the Borderland Path, which runs along the Belgian-Dutch border. Stay tuned (subscribe?!) for the final instalment in the series, where I get back home after 51 days of hiking (zero rest days).

incredible drone footage! I loved learning how you decide how far to walk everyday and how challenging it is to find accommodation

Daar is ie dan: het Grenslandpad! Mooi maar zwaar qua afstand naar de overnachtingsplaatsen toe. En veel water! Hoop dat je nu droger loopt 😀. Grtjs Piet& Anneke

Nice videos! Like the town hopping mixed with forest areas. Love the edits and music as well. Great job 👍 might try something similar up here in Sweden

Thanks so much for the words of encouragement! I imagine you will have more 'nature' options in Sweden while still being able to hit towns on a regular basis - good idea! I only really know about the Kungsleden in Sweden (which I'd like to do sometime soon!) but I'm sure there are tonnes of shorter trails you could link up as well.

@@yoahvangelder Yes! There a ton of trails. There’s more and closer cities in the south so that’s probably where one should try it. You should definitely do it! The views and nature is amazing up there. Going to Sarek and Jotunheimen this summer myself.

Question did you use air b &b for your accommodations? Still amazed by your editing

Thanks for your lovely compliment, Eric! I used www.vriendenopdefiets.nl/en for accommodations - you stay in people's homes (spare rooms, etc.), it's very reasonably priced (especially for Holland) and often a great experience! You can organise places to stay via phone calls or by email. Note that doing this in advance will greatly improve your chances of finding (conveniently located) accommodation. Highly recommended!
