As a Texan and annual visitor to the area we have long preferred the state park over the national, especially when it comes to pure rugged off-roading. The only complaint that I have with this video is that you're letting the secret out here lol.
BBRSP truly is a national gem. You are lucky to live so close! We hope that more people will have the opportunity to safely and responsibly enjoy this park.
I appreciate the review. I live a stones throw away and I have never been, only because I didn't think it would make for a great trip, obviously I can see why people would travel out there, its amazing! Thanks again, and I'll keep this park in my to do list.
Coming from Colorado where the wheeling is prevalent and considered some of the best in the nation, I found Big Bend Ranch State Park to be absolutely incredible and I cannot wait to return. Make sure you check out Guale Road and Fresno Canyon. Both are beyond spectacular! You are certainly lucky to live so close! - John
Definitely check it out, especially if you love hiking. The Santa Elana trail is stunning, and the Window trail is short, simple but ends with such a gorgeous view. I always find myself back at Big Bend.
Man I have to give it to the Group Ya'll did a AWESOME job putting this together and sharing, I have been to BBNP over 100 times, camping, hiking, stargazing, and such. This is just very Impressive.
Absolutely stellar! What a great production. Been to Big Bend, not off road. Terlingua yes, dirt bikes. This video made me want to pack up and leave. Didnt see any border problems. Love your app. I am a member, its the best.👍👍😎🇺🇸
That's what we like to hear! We're glad you enjoyed it and thank you so much for your support as a member. If you pack up and plan a 4WD trip you'll have to let us know how it goes!
I came here for the funeral of a childhood friend. After that we spent two weeks hiking and enjoying the local vibe of the place. We are so fortunate to have been in the big bend……
Great video and park rundown with high production values! Appreciate the effort it took to make it. Went with a group for 5 days in Big Bend National Park last November, camping at a site just southwest of Terlingua. Weather was perfect, the night sky incredible, and the park itself an awesome experience. We drove Hwy 170 from Terlingua over to Presidio and back along the southern border of the State park, which had some great views, but didn't have time to do the park itself on that trip. We need to go back down and do it. Thanks for the inspiration!👍
I passed that Prada store when passing thru that area a few years back and thought as I was passing by “was that for real”? I thought for sure the heat exhaustion got to me. Lol.
We have been to Big Bend National Park, last October. We want to go back and do the State Park, last year we were in a Subaru Outback Wilderness, now we each have a Bronco and it is outfitted for Overlanding! Going to Big Bend in the Subie started us looking for a better off road vehicle, the Subie was just too small, we ended up both getting one, which will work for carrying gear! Thanks for this detailed video! Also Fort Davis, Alpine, and the other small towns around are really neat to visit, there is an amazing pizza place in Alpine! We also ate in Terlingua.
@@Trailsoffroad Will do! We just did the Bronco Offroadeo in Horseshoe Bay Texas! We did it Saturday! It was an amazing experience! I have never climbed a sheer cliff, I am a cajun girl from South Louisiana, we do not have rocks, it was terrifying yet fun! I will let you know when we do the State Park!
True desert wilderness. The video describes it exactly as it is. As Big Bend becomes more known, this place remains unknown. In one day you can hit crowds at Lost Mine, and then find pure remoteness here. Granted Big Bend NP still has a lot of remote area's. But few visitors to Big Bend NP know about this place.
I go in February as well. Summer is too hot. Last year it was 87 degrees one day and snowing the next. Wear snake gaiters for any hiking. The worst of the worst is called Cats Claw. It looks like a lot of the grey bushes around that don't have thorns on them, then wham they grab you and cut you when you least expect it. It is a fantastic park, but not for everyone. It is as harsh as it gets.
Love your channel and it's motivated me to start my own adventure TH-cam Channel. Looking forward to doing some of the things you guys have been doing and done! :)
Awesome - we love to hear people are getting out there and exploring! On either of the website or our app, you can leave a trail review with a video link. Post up the next trail you run with a video, we would love to see it!
Argh! We keep on kicking that can down the road. We need to get our store done. We will send an email out when it's ready. Fingers crossed sometime next year.
What we would recommend is heading over to our website and reviewing our very detailed trail guides. In there you can easily assess if you vehicle and skills are up for the trails. Just search our name, and you can either search by trail name or go to the map page and click the trails you would like to know more about.
I have been to Big Bend National Park I think 9 times. I have been everywhere in that park, the only thing I have not done is float the river. My bad. It breaks my heart I'll never get to know this place as well. I'm just too old and broke down to start over here. I camped outside the front gate one time, right on the river, but that is as close as I ever got to the State Park except for driving by it a time or two.
you didn't mention Ft. Leaton historical park to the west of the park entrance (Presidio). Interesting historical site and park office for check in if you don't want to go to the Saucedo ranger station to check in.
I would say 3 nights would be ideal! Try to stay a night out at Guale, Fresno Canyon and one more (if possible). There is plenty of hiking to do if you are into that, you could find another campsite near a hike you'd like to try. Enjoy! It is a wonderful place to explore.
It was freezing at night when we filmed this as well! Luckily it warmed up to t-shirt weather within a few hours of sunrise. Hope you're enjoying the park! Post up some trail reviews on the website/apps. We would love to see the adventure!
To me, as a native Texan, South Padre, PINS and Big Bend country definitely make the state. Gives us a touch of southwest Florida and Southern Arizona in the same state. The hill country around Garner and Lost Maples is nice as well, and don't sleep on the huge east texas lakes region set in rolling hills and thick forest. Referring to Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend. Altogether, I'd say TX is a top 10 state for overall outdoor opportunities and diverse environments.

You answered a question I had between the two parks. Which park is preferred? 😃
@@IsaacRodriguez89 Both are worth a visit but if rugged, rural, dispersed 4WD travel is what you seek then then BBRSP (state park) is what you seek.
Texan here, who's doing my third Big Bend NP back-country trip over New Years. Guess I need to do the State Park next year!
💥💫GLORIOUS! BEAUTIFUL SHARE TO INVEST IN OUR OFF-ROADING & OVERLANDING COMMUNITIES!✨🎇
Thank you

Thank you Danny. What part of the park is your favorite?
An excellent video indeed...! It really captures the remote glory of Big Bend Ranch State Park.
Thank you, have you been there?
Great info and video was EXCELLENT!!!
Thank you for watching
The videography in all of your videos are nothing short of amazing. I'm truly envious of the camera skills here.
Thank you for the kind words.

Jeeps looking good with the Ursa Minors as always
Thank you! We love the Ursa Minors!
Good to see you guys again.
Thanks for watching! We hope to have some more fun videos coming down the pipeline!
That’s an awesome trip!
It certainly was! Thanks for watching!
Awesome video and great footage especially drone shots
Thank you! Our drone guy (fumbling the tent poles) has really helped us with our production content. Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video and drone footage! Good to see you guys again!
Thank you Deborah! We had a blast making this video. Glad you enjoyed it.
Awesome state park! The river road is something to drive on too. Really a well made video guys!
Thanks for watching! It is one of our new favorite areas, especially when the snow starts flying in the northern parts of the country!
Yeah the river road rivals some of the best drives in the country.

It really is a unique and cool area. Thank you for watching, and sorry about your friend.
Just spent 5 days at State Park before Thanksgiving. So many great trails.
It truly is an amazing place. We can’t wait to go back!
What campsite did you stay in!

Good review. Will be adding this to the list.

Hahaha! It is a trip to see that out there for sure. The art just north of Marfa is a welcome break to take on a long road trip. Thanks for watching!

Another great video, well done! You have such amazing parks and off roading in the USA.
Thank you, where are you located?
I'm on Vancouver Island, we have Provincial parks but very little access to the backcountry for 4 wheel drives.
pretty area, but yeah, not such great wheeling.
Well done, excellent video.
Thank you, and thank you for watching

We really want to experience it in the middle of the summer at least for one day sometime, with an air conditioned vehicle lol.
Awesome video, great rigs.
Thank you
Terlingua is awesome. Some of the best breakfast in the whole area is there. They also have a bar on west side of town that has pretty great pizza
haven't had the pizza, but will keep that in mind next time.

What gas tire holder is that on the Gas JLU
It's a RockSlide Engineering EZ Rack with a 3.5 gal Rotopax!

We show a scene from Fort Leaton at 4:48 where you can check in. Thanks for watching!
Excellent video. I recently published one for first time visitors to the state park, as well.
Thanks for watching! It is an awesome place.
How many days would you say is enough to cover most sites? Thanks for the great video! Your Rim Rocker video helped tons for my trip this summer!

What is the topper/tent are on those Jeeps?
The company who does it is called Ursa Minor! Here is a quick video about them with a link to their product - th-cam.com/video/t_VBhUuj0Xc/w-d-xo.html
Today is February 1st and it’s colder than a witches tit in Big Bend tonight. Just above freezing.

Can't do it, music to loud.
Thanks for letting us know
One of only four reasons I’d ever go back to TX, Padre Island NATIONAL Seashore, Big Bend NATIONAL park, Big Bend State Park and Austin TX.
Texas has some cool stuff! We definitely want to check out Merus Adventure Park as well!
