Tony Khan being hailed as a visionary at the start and being exposed as a Dixie Carter level money mark being manipulated by the grifters like Jericho and Jarrett at the end is quite something

They wanted to see it so badly so that can feel validated for either being loyal to wwe or feel validated for being "smart" fans all because they listen and get their knowledge from Jim.

AEW is an indie show owned by a rich guy. Impact is more professional than the elite.
The Swerve/Billy Gunn segment has Jericho's fingerprints all over it. This is the same story he had with Chyna 25 years ago. It was cringe then too.

Colt vs Jericho imo was the worst match ever done in a ring. First off colt looks like he’s trying to catch up to Keith Lee. The dude is fat. Watching them both fall off the turnbuckle was golden it was like watching two water buffalos fall of a cliff in slow motion.
Cabana in ine appearance made khan look foolish for employing him for 2 years. Jericho has been better latley but they were terrible here

Honestly, it's 50/50 at this point. Dynamite still does 'round 700-900k, but Rampage struggles to keep above 500k. Question is whether Warner Discovery can find something cheaper and less embarrassing than this.
I'd not be surprised if they just put reruns of Seinfeld or Friends on that time slot... And those'll do better than the first episode of Dynamite, most likely.
Warner Bros entertainment divisions are notorious for constantly changing leadership and killing everything the previous execs did.
I doubt it. They aren't paying anything compared to what they would have to pay to run reruns of the big bang theory. Discovery loves cheap tv like aew. They dont have wwe style monster tv deals.

Title eliminators are a boxing concept where two contenders fight for a mandatory title shot, that the champ has to take or vacate the belt. Everything that Tony tries to copy from real sports is comically botched like everything else in the promotion.

Never thought of it like this. I have been doing Efeds since 2007, and how Tony Khan looks & acts, he legit feels like people I've met on Efed. Thinks he knows everything, comes up with crazy ideas, and is in over his head.

I honestly believe if booked properly dynamite could hit 1.5 mil or more. This show is doomed and Tony Khan isn't smart enough to save AEW Rampage.

At this point, Tony Khan is either snorting that white powder way too much, becoming delusional from the fame as the buckaroos and Jericho speaking in his ear- or he’s purposely sabotaging himself as the stress is becoming overwhelming. AEW is tannnnnnnking badly. It truly could be better but nope… it’s trash. Booker of the year needs to revamp AEW and get rid of the buckaroos and the inflated roster.
Nope. I think khan went cold turkey after the scrum brawl and that's what's missing. When he was cooked up he was booking stuff he wanted to see and now he's sober and listening to Jericho and his sports entertainment skits and the bucks ridicukaness.

I’m glad to hear Jim say it… ever since The Acclaimed got the titles, it’s been so boring. It’s a damn cartoon. They got the scissoring over and then genius TK decided start spending 15+ minutes on the trademark of the term every damn week. That, or some kind of celebration. Did you know fans have started bringing cardboard scissors to the arena? Ha! Wow! Wrestling!!!

The Acclaimed aren’t world champion caliber wrestlers though and that’s making it impossible to book them.

Let me put it this way. I would rather watch Victor Newman fights from Young and the Restless, portrayed by legendary German actor Eric Braeden, who in real life has a formidable boxing background. Simply put, the guy has hands. And even at 81, I have no doubt that he could clap the cheeks of a good portion of AEW's roster.
I'm not 100% sure you know, or are using, the term "clap them cheeks" correctly. They're all clapping TKs cheeks pretty good right now though.. imagine paying all that money, for what they're putting out currently... Sheesh.
I swear, AEW has become a minor league parody of WWE, with inexperienced crew, where talent is trashed and mediocrity elevated...

My running theory is that Tony, being a numbers guy, has access to a line chart that demonstrates the average points at which some wrestlers have historically gotten over and then started demanding bigger paychecks, being a problem for the booker or going into business for themselves; Then he started working his show to counter those graphs and percentages.
The Elite, Jericho, Mox, and Punk himself were the incidental exceptions to this rule and Cassidy is a floating asterisk; Everyone else has to bend the knee to the chart percentage and nobody gets to be bigger than the company or approach super-stardom on their own.
The consistency is a pattern and I'm fairly confident it's by design, not simply random ignorance or madness driven insanity at play.
Can't wait for tonight when some Japanese guy I've never heard of who is apparently famous for almost dying in the ring and having a surgery where his brain was removed from his skull.

Another thing that frustrates me about AEW is when a guy or a team gets momentum organically from the crowd , you KNOW youve got something . So just keep that rolling and it will only grow bigger ! The biggest problem with Tony is he's praised as booker of the year and a great booker by some (Uncle Dave). Yet his booking is a scattered as Russo's. Tony does what he wants. Someone gets over organically like they should and he doesn't know how to capitalize.
AEW ruins everybody and they're going to ruin MJF too. I hope like hell i'm wrong but i predict Omega and The Young Sucks will be the main attractions soon and it will be unwatchable.

The Keith Lee powerbomb is the least of their issues,but still an issue, since wardlow has been so successful making that thing so important and exciting for the fans, kinda like Sid back in the day, I would ban that move from everyone else, no one does any version of it.

I had so much hope for AEW. Here we had an unknown guy. Tony Kahn. A supposed sports guy, guy with stats and numbers. We were told we were going to get a sports based product. Stats and Memphis style Pro Wrestling. What we have doesn't even fit into the category of a big top circus show. It's too unbelievable and booked like trash to even be put on under a big top tent for a circus. Hell, a circus manager could do better than Tony. Stromboli could book AEW better. Maybe, in the future something will happen to finally make AEW worth it but for now, this is not the place and definitely not where the big boys play.
So we were promised what we wanted but ultimately got exactly what we didn't want?

I tried to tell everyone not to get carried away with thinking these guys were gonna be competition and elevate wrestling. But NOOOOO the same ppl that were thinking TNA was gonna become competition are the same people that think AEW is good. It's like HOW MANY TIMES can you all get duped?

I could have done with more story telling in the ring but they had potential. Not sure how safe this technique is, but maybe the women should adopt Rey Mysterio's style of hitting the ropes, sometimes he'll dip and hit off the middle rope instead of the top rope. Unfortunately a lot of the women we see wrestling are a little clumsy, so there may be some danger with learning that.

It really is unwatchable.. I've tried its just shit . You almost feel uncomfortable for them .
When everyone started hyping AEW when it came out I said "I'm not gonna jump the gun. I learned through TNA to never get your hopes too high" and I was right.
I figured the only thing they filmed in front of this was Dark. I can’t believe they’re renting out an arena for essentially 1 hour of live tv. If they want Rampage to be live every week now they ought to run smaller venues

I think it's clear at this point that AEW has been promoting this ROH stuff so much to show to Warner to try and get it its own show. Maybe a week like this is a test by Warner to see what an ROH show could do in ratings, and get an idea of who is involved.
Some of the things AEW needs to do are so obvious.
- Give Yuta/Garcia/Moriarty the trios titles as babyfaces
- Save Wardlow for your big angles/matches and give him memorable spots/moments in them
- Give FTR an in ring promo and match every single week
- Re-evaluate the JAS. I get it, they get the rub from him, but it just is not working. Tay Conti should be nowhere near this group, or even Sami. She should be in singles competition as a babyface. 2.0 should be managed by Anna Jay. Hager should be jobbing to big guys and Sami should be off TV for a few months to cool off. Jericho can be the newest member of House of Black.

Think about this.... WWF HEAT got more ratings than AEW Dynamite.
Get rid of the trios titles. Send Yuta and Garcia to Rampage for at least a year or two until they get bigger and much better.

I can't wait to see their promos on the screen from their text convo. A convo you can see each text being sent and you can even see how fast they replied or how long. Even showing that "typing..." Thing at the bottom. 😂 All this while the wrestlers are staring each other down and their texts are being shown for us on the big screen at the entrance.
What annoys me about title Eliminator matches is that if Moxley has a match vs Pac, Swerve, whoever it may be, and loses.. of course they have a claim for the championship
Millions wanted something similar to the better eras of TNA, but instead we got an indie show with a big screen.

Was looking at the events in the future FTR will not be on Dynamite 2 weeks in a row December 28th and January 4th , on DEC 28th they will in Mexico defending the AAA tag titles, then on January 4th they will be defending the IWGP tag titles at Wrestle Kingdom in Japan.
Plus its a rematch with The Acclaimed and Swerve & Keith Lee at Full Gear so FTR may not even be on the ppv I bet they're have a match with The Gunn Brothers on Rampage that week.
At this point FTR needs to just be traveling champions. Ditch AEW, their tag titles don’t mean anything anyway. Give Tony back his ROH tag props. Upgrade to the Impact tag titles and re-debut in WWE as the AAA, IWGP, and Impact tag champions. Set sights for the Usos, and finally put the first dent in the bloodlines dominance.

That Billy Gunn kidnapping angle just sounds like garbage and cringe. Billy Gunn is taller and probably bigger than Swerve and we are supposed to believe that he can just kidnap Billy Gunn without any difficulty whatsoever. 🙄 I grew up and remember The Undertaker kidnapping Stephanie McMahon in an angle but even that had some slight believability. Undertaker was a big scary guy that was stalking Vince Mcmahon's family and threatening her and I think they even teased footage to gradually set it up over a few shows I think. I remember someone brought up one of Stephanie's teddy bears to Mcmahon in person. Realistically, I think if a big 6ft 10 guy was coming after a younger, shorter, unarmed and untrained in self defense person, that would be pretty horrifying. When Stephanie got in the limo and Undertaker was the driver and was like "where to Stephanie?! (besides it being hilarious if you look past it lol, it's somewhat believable she'd get kidnapped) . But this just sounds dumb as hell. I can see why this show gets low ratings. Apparently Billy Gunn being over at 59 and The Acclaimed getting over is too much of a bad thing
