I suspect the 6R185 will be a popular choice in Ireland with people as it’s still a mid frame tractor with up to 234hp boost. It’s an good all rounder. Excellent video as always Gerry.

So it’s 185 boost to 230 and the dash is on the right hand pillar And a multi controller style ( command pro ) joystick ???? Ah! Gerry you could have went to mid Louth’s garage to see all that a few years ago # Case Puma 😂😂
Good video Gerry. I think the new 6r 185 only comes with the auto power gearbox so that will eat up more power than the auto quad.
You could be right on the gearbox. I never asked. Tge auto power coukd suck 10/15 hp compared to the autoquad but these 185s boost to 235hp, still a lot more then a 155r

After hearing a rough price for the new mid frame 6rs I’m glad to have bought mine when I did, but I’m liking the changes that they are bringing in with the new range. Something I could see being a big seller is the command quad gearbox going forward. I went for a command pro 6145r, but if I was buying a second tractor I’d prob go for a command quad 6130r
I drove the 6R 185 up in TFM Laois at the open day my father is the main man in it already by the one drive she is a different animal compared to the older commamdpro she is defo a lady to move and does 0-50k in 8.2 seconds which is unbelievable but it is a different animal to the older R and will definitely give any 7430 or 7530 a run for there money

Great video, run a length of channel/gutter etc, down over that water pipe before the cattle chew through it! Ya'l have to redo it if that happens so best done sooner than later!

Small pens in a slatted shed leave you with very happy cattle because pen numbers are small. I work in a shed that has 6metre by 4 metre pens and we fill it close to the Teagasc metres / animal ratio reducing numbers as they grow which leaves very few lame animals out of the 500 we started with in autumn in 55 pens
Really enjoyed the mix of everything great upgrade of the lights
Cab inside wouldn’t be that much different to the 7280r’s when they came out first command pro stick, high vis roof and a different monitor on the armrest being the only really obvious ones there probably is more. There has been no dash on the 7000 series since the likes of the 7920 came out around 2004

What's the pros and cons of bulls and bullocks when finishing the two.
Bulls don’t go over fat…. Have a better daily weight gain…. Bullocks command a better price…. More settled. Don’t tend to fight as much as bulls. Less likely to have any injuries due to fighting .

Would putting cattle into them smaller pens be awkward opening barriers and jumping them over timber for holding silage or have ye another way? I

Spray them with sheep dip on then and keep them in a tight space for a hour then the will all have the same smell and wont fight
The corner post display will b serious hard to get used to. I drive case an new holland I cannot get used to the corner display in the case. U get lost lookin for wat u want in it. Cud b just me

How was your radio reception after the LED change?
Seen No differance yet gerard.
Got a lot of interferenece on radio when I installed LED lights on my digger
@@yeracj2799 Cheap LED lights have bad internal screening of components which lets out a lot of RF noise which can screw up your radio reception, particularly in poor reception areas. Gerry obviously got good ones from a trusted supplier. Personally, even if I buy LED lights online, I will stick with a trusted named brand. Avoid putting LED bulbs into a halogen housing unless it comes from a named brand like Philips or Osram. The housing is designed for it's original bulb only.
Update now a week into using it..... no sign of any interference with radio signal now across few different radio channels all week. So far so good

Depends on specs and model. 185 full spec could be 150-160k maybe more. I didn’t ask.
