very clever! it's no simple task, getting a mechanical system to wind the weight. i've tried a couple of designs, to mixed results. both involve mechanical methods to trigger a battery box. i found that lego's battery boxes don't lend themselves to this application very well. i think the best solution would be to use an nxt/ev3 brick, a touch sensor and a servo. it's not as elegant as a mechanical method, but it's sure-fire and won't fuss with the impulse transfer. so damned expensive, though! legopirate3000 It´s because of how the gears are set up, with a 8 toothed gear output from the motor then to 2: 24 toothed gears and at last to the 40 toothed gear that is connected to the tire piece holding the wire. So because of the gear ratios varies to higher amount of teeth, the winding becomes slower although the motor don´t have to work as hard as if it would be connected directly to the tire piece holding the wire :)
Du är fenomenal, mycket smart idé.
Stämmer tiden i så fall är det helt
Fantastiskt! :-P

wow that amasing
you can show the scapement?
Genius.
Where is the escapement
In the clock…
@@matthewmotorsport_4571 i know, but i mean, how it looks like
Tutorial pls!!!!!! I wanted to build a clock, I had tried so many times but it won't work! Pls help me!
Underbar! Hur väl håller den tiden?
Tackar! Har inte haft igång den på ett tag men sist den var igång var felmarginalen inte särskilt stor på ett dygn :)
Vad härligt!
Winding by 1 PF XL motor
How many kilos is that weight?
2kg :)
Spinninlego But how does the xl motor take all that weight?

Spinninlego Cool, but have any pieces broked?
nope :)
NOW PUT CHIMES ON IT
