the yellow flowers are called Adey abeba. the yellow color of the Adey Adeba flower is a symbol of peace, harmony, and love. The flower itself symbolizes the new beginnings.
Also stumbled upon the festival last year and it was beautiful, will try to catch it again.Beautiful country amazing people.Love from your neighbours south Kenya😘
Wow, I've never heard of this holiday. Strange since it's such a large celebration there. How lucky that you stumbled upon it ;p Ha, the bull loose in the crowds. Oooh, the bonfire looked huge. Coffee ceremony with the locals? That looks amazing! Yes, sugar first please :) Popcorn is ok, but that bread looked amazing.
First time hearing about Meskel... interesting celebration... i like the night time shot while everyone holds a candle... beautiful... for the cross in the forehead, we also have sometihng like that here in Philippines... We do it every Ash Wednesday.... :D
Oh wow! What a cool festival. Ethiopia is high on my bucket list! I’d love to visit sometime. What a coincidence that you can’t for the festival. Thanks for telling us about it! Keep up the great videos :)
I love festivals and celebrations when travelling! So cool that you got the timing just right. Thanks for the little background on Meskel, so interesting to learn about new traditions. Looks like a lot of fun!
Ethiopia looks like a really interesting country, although like a lot of places around the world these days conflicts underlie the the long civilisation. Oh yeah, you didn't bring your bull to the festival so he doesn't get bored at home... You're very lucky you got invited to join in the local celebrations (always the best when that happens!) P.s.I kept hearing 'mezcal' (but it is the weekend 😂)
wow, what luck! The Festival looks fascinating! Really cool that you go to experience that! The bonfire must have been amazing to see. Thanks so much for sharing!
What an amazing experience and so much great information! I've never heard of Meskel before either, so this was really interesting to learn about. Looked like there was such a cool atmosphere at the parades, but that bull looked pretty scary! Great that you were invited to the meal, the food looked delicious and I bet that coffee was good!
I love how welcoming the restaurant staff were towards you by inviting you to experience the festival with them too. That is so special. How was the food for you though? I tried some bits once ages ago and wasn't a fan. I've heard good reviews about the food, so maybe I was unlucky with where I ate the food.
