Bro, salute firstly to you to have the courage to visit a place torn with civil war. The junction center looked a lot like mall areas in Singapore and Bangkok. Looking forward to see more videos from there.
@@LizafromWhere that is super awesome to hear..I know and understand how things in the media get blown up. Loved what I saw in the video. And the people are super nice!
Thanks Prateek that shows the two sides of life here in Yangon and how we live and work here as teachers. There are many fancy places here and some foreigners and locals just go from their condo to the private school to The Govenors Residence for a Jazz nite or an embassy party for example and never even touch the grit of the other side of life. As you know my channel shows both sides. Like India you can see the extremes and some people live in one world or the other. I live in both. Thank you for your balanced video.
Thanks Miss Liza! Makes sense and that was my aim! Didn’t come here for views but to show real side, this video didn’t perform as usual videos on my channel but I am still happy to show the real side 😀
@@TravelwithPrateek Same here. I know how to make videos that go viral but it would make my skin crawl to do that type of content. When some do go viral I get random visitors making comments on shopping mall videos like 'don't you know a war is going on!" Yet I have all the videos on the work of Jochen and the Sonne NGO and life in the slums and they get hardly any views yet they are important and I will continue to make. People are so hypocritical on line and as a TH-camr you can see all that. I prefer to keep my ethics and grow in the right way.
Nice video, of course myanmar people are really really nice. Thank you for giving more than they ask, they need it and it is so little more for us. Intelligent and kind you are Prateek ++++
Hi Prateek. Thank you for this! I'm from a South East Asian country too and I'll be visiting Yangon soon to experience their local cuisine. I hope you can share some information or do a video on budget friendly accommodations for foreign tourists :)
Thanks for visiting and glad to know you safely returned. We have the Bay of Bangal and Manipur, Nagaland in west. Snowy Himalayas mountains in the north touching nepal and China. Laos Thai Myanmar ( The Golden Triangle) Green Mountains in the east Mergui archipelago with many untouched islands in the south (Sentinel Island - Where cannibals live is also near but territory is owned by India) And in the mid we have a desert with an ancient city. Also one of the hottest places in the world. This place would be a tourism attraction if not for politics 😊 If politics is stable I would love to travel to India by Car from Manipur. But the road is terrible nkw
@@TravelwithPrateek Make sure to explore the downtown area where you’ll find many historic British buildings, such as The Secretariat in Yangon. Don’t miss the Sule Pagoda, located in the heart of downtown, and it's very close to my home! For street food, I recommend heading to Chinatown or Hledan in the evening. Also, take some time to visit Kandawgyi Lake, another popular spot in Yangon.

Visit places such as Lashio, Sittwe, Thandwe, Loikaw, Sagaing and Magway states. Don't just stay in Yangon which is only a tiny part of Myanmar geographically. That way, you'll get a glimpse of the real situation in Myanmar. You are now misrepresenting it just by visiting Yangon only.
Firstly, as a a foreigner, I should not visit places which are restricted for tourists as of now and my tourist visa rules don’t allow me to visit. Secondly, if anything wrong happens, I dont want to become a burden on my government to be rescued or put them in a weird situation just for some views on TH-cam. I may go to these places in an organised group tour and but I will need special permissions and more time which I didn’t have this time. And considering that- did you know my situation as mentioned above? No, so I am not ‘Restricting’ myself BUT just visiting Yangon. I have shown Yangon just as is. How Yangon is right now. Myanmar is a huge country and you cannot define it basis what’s happening across different regions. Have you seen the plight of tourist sector in yangon? Spoken to the sellers outside Pagodas? Or in the markets? How their business is affected with no tourists around? Etc. ? Whats the misinformation? That showing what is already there? That people are nice? That I can take grab? Or eat at a nice cafe? Or there are malls? Aren’t there everything in Yangon? When did I say that rest of the Myanmar is like Yangon? Watch my video again I am hoping to visit again next time and probably visit other places to like you said, but will need more planning, etc.
As a regular viewer of your vlogs.. just a query.. probably you have already mentioned on the video and i missed it.. why were you there? Office work or just tour? And you guys really should do QnA session.. i remember you saying that once you reach 10k subs you will do it 😉😉
Prateek, I was worried, I didn't see the vlog for two days. The pagodas are too good. How is life in Myanmar. How many days you planned. Take every precaution. God bless you 🙏
All good sir! Life is pretty normal here in Yangon. Eveyrhing is open. Curfew is there late might but malls, everything else is functioning as is! And thank you again for supporting! I planned 4 nights and now I am back to Bangkok.

Hey! Are you checking through Google or sharing personal experience? Currency exchange rates are not what you get on google here in Myanmar. You almost get 1.7- 2 times the official rate 😀
It's 1.26USD. As locals we use an app called Myanmar Market Price that gives us the rate. Not the official rate you see on Google like Prateek is trying to explain to you. Foreigners who do not live and work here do not know that. Also a lot of TH-camrs that have huge accounts and make up lots of silly information their audiences belive without question as they bounce from country to country!
