  • 30 years ago, there was a broad consensus among sociologists of religion that global modernization would lead to secularization. World-class sociologist of religion, Peter Berger, explains why this hypothesis has failed on a grand scale, how the world as at least as religious as it ever was, but that modernization has increased pluralism, as fewer and fewer people live in religiously homogenous societies.

    We are arguably now already in a Post-Secularist age, although that isn't visible to everybody (yet).

      @Bradley McDonald Actually a post-secular society would not be overwhelming atheist... quite the contrary it would be highly spiritual
