Unironicaly you are missing the fact that you should add speed of the vehicle to the velocity. AH-1G 40mm = 76.67m/s + 260m/s = 336.67 m/s => sub sonic speed. Ki-44-II Otsu = 167.78 m/s + 245m/s = 412.78 m/s =>supersonic speed.

Honestly, if there were any variants of the Ki-44 with 20mm cannons that thing would be such a beast, the damn plane just handles so well both in turns and vertically
kinda reminds me of a german fighter ace during ww2, guy was always so close to the enemies before shooting that his plane sufferend more damage from the enemies shrapnel than enemy bullets.

They technically are, in the bottom of the round is a chamber with a silk bag of powder and it has exhaust holes and an extended rod strike at the bottom that just gets hit to light, the powder burns off entirely before it exits the tube and makes the massive rocket smoke from the tube but you never see the fire at the back so its stealthier
i fucking love this thing so much, i still use it in air arcade when my average br is 5.3, and it works so good, even the 12.7mm guns rip the enemies wings so easily
No one's mentioned Japan yet, so I'm gonna say Japan. Ki-44 has climb performance rivaling some 5.7 aircraft at just 2.3/2.7, it turns really well, it rolls well, and it's decently fast. Only downside are the guns. At 4.3 there's the J2M2, which climbs like a bat outta hell, can keep pace with P-47s at low altitude, turns nearly as well as a Spit Mk. IX, and has 2 20mm cannon, which, although not amazing, are still pretty good.

The Ho-301 40mm gun unironically has a lower velocity than the 40mm grenade launchers on the AH-1G

I like that, with vertical zeroing, you have to shoot nearly 10 degrees lower than your target to hit.
I hit shots better with vertical zeroing. Idk I think it's something to do with the camera position in relation to the guns

Either germany or US. Italy is fine but they're not as good, they actually shine just above 5.0.
