It's worth noting that the device mentioned at around 3:56 as well as those "keychain" striking devices (other than the tactical pen) are illegal weapons in many states. The law in Indiana, Kentucky, and Oklahoma considers them to be "Knuckles". Also, if you're going to carry pepper spray- You want at least 2 oz if possible- those keychain units, in reality, have just enough spray in them to give one good squirt which, if you're lucky enough to hit the intended target (you probably won't unless you train extensively) , is just enough to really just piss someone off. Rather, I go with the MK-3 size which is big enough and has enough chemicals that you can get a good grip and have enough spray to get the job done, BUT yet still small enough to get in your pocket. Plus they have belt holders for them as well.
Running away is your best option most of the time. I carry a flashlight, and either a telescopic magnet or a selfie stick - the magnet could break bone with a good swing and the telescopic selfie stick is enough to deter stay dogs, and some attackers. A tactical pen is super hard to use, almost useless in most hands. A flashlight is much more practical and still usable in the way a Kubaton is. I carry a quick deploy box opener - really small knife which no one would call a weapon, but if properly sharp and, and used in a wrestling situation it can RIP someone open. Don’t be obvious, don’t be the first attacker, run if you can, deter if you must defend, and if you’re in real danger do anything you can. I often have my telescopic magnet open when walking around, just seeing if I catch anything off the ground - and I honestly have gotten some interesting things)
Great information, just remember to check your local laws on what is and is not legal to carry concealed or otherwise. Also remember that pepper spray and it's varients is only good at a distance, if you use it in close proximity chances are high you'll also spray yourself and defeat the purpose. Always maintain situational awareness and if available take a hand to hand self defense coarse.
Not necessarily- you really shouldn't carry pepper spray unless you've been exposed to it beforehand and know what it can do (and for that matter what it can't do) - Especially if you carry a gun, because of the fact that with pepper spray even in the best of circumstances you WILL get blowback from it and be affected to some extent or another- blowback for some people can be enough to create a dangerous situation where the firearm is present because of the "panic" mode and inability to think rationally and logically combined with the inability to retain the weapon.
@@Harlem55 Uh, no? It's pretty self explanatory what it does and legal adults should be able to carry what they please without having to be peppersprayed
Are there combination weapons with a variety of legal self-defense weapons in a single unit, such as: combined claw with buttons for knife to protrude & tasar & silent cell signal alarm & very loud disorienting alarm & video with sound for both SD card and connectivity to smart phone app with option to include gps location & calling designated emergency numbers w/pre-recorded messages & blinding light & salt bullets & pepper spray & hybrid power source (rechargeable batteries + regular batteries + mechanical energy generator via crank &/or shaking &/or passive motion like "self-winding" watches have & micro usb for recharging cell phone Etc.)? If not, seems like an obvious marketable device! After all, in emergencies, one can't assume there will be time for switching between separate devices. Wouldn't hurt to offer optional accessories such as holders as wrist bands; belts with hidden compartments +/- belt buckle weapons; stealth jewelry and hair decor that double as weapons &/or alarms -/or blue tooth vs gps tags; easy access (holster-like) ~ "fanny pack" with accessories for stuff like chemical exposure mitigation incl nose clips and oxygen canister + goggles that may as well also filter out some % of blinding light +/- single lense infrared attachment + eye wash + skin cleanser, and sound assault mitigating ear plugs, + multi tool for escaping car trunk or removing tail light for waving for help &/or leaving a trail of evidence as well as a concealable saw for cutting rope or zip ties; maybe activatable thermal modifiers like hand warmers Etc.; stimulants to partially counter some sedatives; and other accessories such as smart phone "protective cases" with stealth compartments, hidden compartments in shoe heels &/or straps &/or fasteners that local shoe-repair shops could swap with regular heels; underwire bras with modified wire + closure hooks + standard-looking front padding; various multi- function fabric decor such as studs & rhinestones & appliques & ribbon & inner seam self-adhering holders of misc tiny stuff; ways to limit lay-people's hand-held (relatively weak) metal-detectors from noticing hidden weapons or create uniform patterns to camouflage what can't be sufficiently blocked ; Etc.; plus a line of custom-fit items to place inside of these hidden containers. Think 'Q' on James Bond. Women and teens particularly would benefit from such devices (+ manufacturers could make additional profits through partnerships with App developers and approved distributors could share profits from tuition for training courses tailored to the use of their proprietary products; Etc..
The problem with the Taser is that it is ineffective in about 40 percent of cases for one reason or another. The rounds are also prohibitively expensive and therefore you're not getting good practice with it. That's before you get to the issue that the Taser is an "Intermediate weapon" which means it's on par with baton strikes, impact weapons, pepper ball rounds, etc. in that intermediate weapons pose a significant threat of serious bodily injury or death depending on how they are applied.

Pocket sand. Effective, light weight, easy to conceal, non lethal, does not require a license, and cheap.
Like a smoke bomb, ha! Plus throwing is much more familiar if a movement than spraying or shooting, cool.

Great work Mr. Desy! Thank you for publishing this! See you at the next renewal!
If you feel that your life or you are in a situation where you fear bodily harm to you is coming, that is where you can use lethal force.
Great info mate appreciate the video
What kind of neck knife was that you had there? What's it called again? Looks interesting
The Emerson La Griffe.
always set your phone to have emergency call button or have a voice activated emergency number. You can set it in your settings.
If you are carrying non lethal options in a situation where lethal weapons are being used, you are at a severe disadvantage. Train for lethal.
I carry a 38 S&W. My wife carries a knife, tazer and pepper spray!! Also, I carry a switch blade.
The light, not enough especially when attacked in a close range. Knives, excellent pick but in many countries some of the hefty ones are illegal.

Too many dark colored things with a dark colored background. This is a common problem with these "martial" info videos.
