Thinking of buying it and putting a Garret Ball bearing Turbo on it… it’s already sitting at 450HP at the Wheels, hoping to get about 1000hp to the wheels after the Turbo.
I have a single cab short bed 2011 and I’m going to be keeping it forever. I get lots of compliments just because it is so different than most trucks on the road today.
This configuration is the look and stance that I prefer over the crew or ext cab. I don’t have other family members living with me so I like this configuration for the looks and the short turning radius!

I’m in Texas and found my Silverado short bed in Illinois through CARMAX. What’s funny is it was originally sold new in Texas. 😆 🚘 I wanted one because they are cool looking. Very easy to park.
The problem with trucks these days is they don’t make long beds anymore because parking lot sizes are getting smaller and it’s all the rage to have a crew cab or king cab..so you get like a 5 foot bed.. what’s a 5 foot bed for?

The one thing I like about my Silverado extended cab is it’s a good weight distribution between the bed and cab and it rides smooth for a pickup truck. I feel like a short bed regular cab is the same thing because the bed doesn’t hold as much weight as a long bed. It’s too bad gm doesn’t make these trucks anymore. Now all gm makes are just regular cabs long bed, crew cabs and double cab with a short bed.

Because regular short bed trucks were part of my youth, growing up in rural Ohio way back in the late 60's. It's a body style I've always loved, always wanted and I consider it my own personal two-seater "sports car". As far as I'm concerned, It's much better looking than those "family, four-door truck whose owners don't carry anything but worries, anxiety and false pretense, and very few other people have one. It's almost exclusive and I LIKE that. Besides, I don't want a whole bunch of other people in my truck...except for my wife.

I just purchased a 2019 Ram single Cab short bed for my son. I was surprised by how choppy the ride is compared to the longer wheelbase of my crew cab.
Standard cab silverados 4×4 are the best looking trucks around and they will be collector trucks in the feature and the most sought after they just out right look bad ass.
A 2 door cab, mild hybrid with gas in the front, electric in the back with no driveshaft hump and plenty of room for a 3rd person on the bench seat would be sweet!
When I purchased my current truck back in 2004, every option seemed to cost $2k (including extended cab). I only paid for the air conditioner, automatic transmission and that was it. V4, No power locks, and no power windows. And I still own it and use it every day. It kills me there are no more 2 doors. Thanks for sharing.

Sometimes i get complicated on my truck once 3 times in one day..which was a shock because iv taken it to several car shows/ cars and coffee people don't even bother...so rare no one knows what it is. 17 year old fun truck still looking good, getting work done, pulling trailers and crusing around even keeping up with average drivers in new cars and trucks on the highway. Ill be keeping this truck on the road for as long as i can maybe another 17-20 years.🤘👍

Is this not a standard sized bed? I have one and it's common for people to call it a short bed but its actually longer than most people's full size trucks which actually have short beds.
i think they label them as short beds cause a lot of the times the single cabs that are used for work come in 8' beds so they call that the short bed but it's really just a regalar size bed

They used to be called short beds when trucks only came with either this size or 8' ( long bed) before crew cabs with these 5' beds were even a thing. Im still wondering which manufacturer will be the first to introduce a three row cab with a 2.5' bed

I had an S-10 Xtreme regular cab for years, finally sold it and upgraded to a Ford Lightning but then I had to sell that as well because California. I would love to get a GMC Sierra somewhere around 2016 to 2018 regular cab short bed but as you said they are extremely rare now & the 5.3L V8 is now super expensive even more than the extended & quad cabs...

I have a 2008 Regular Cab, short bed. Only way I will get rid of it is if Chevy makes the same configuration again. It is the perfect length for me. With the snow plow on I can back it into the garage and close the door. Anything longer and it won't fit. Best thing about having a pickup is my wife will not ride in it. I get to play the music I like and it is fun to drive too.

Facts! You can build a WT decently equipped. You’re limited to the 2.7T and 5.3V8, but that also keeps the price reasonable. 2022 gets a nice exterior refresh as well as the 2.7T gets a nice bump to 420 ft/lbs of TQ.
Two years ago I found one like yours the price was 32k same dealer they have a Denali with the 6.2 for 37k that’s another reason people don’t buy this trucks
I have a 2005 Ford Ranger single cab and I just like the look better it seems more proper and what I like about the ranger in about any other truck from the early 2000s that they were meant for work and not for comfort they're just more enjoyable I saw a 2019 Ranger crew cab it just looks weird with the four doors

Yes. Short bed is a bit of a misnomer because the “shortest” box was available on the crew cabs, I believe. For the regular cabs, I think this was as short as they came. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Your pickup today is still probably what you paid for it new or almost real close to it. Single cab pickup is and always will be a street pickup or a z71 4x4 off road either way it is the move then and even today. That 1986 is and always will be no matter what year a GEM 💎 even in 2099.

Aside from measuring it, there's a probably an RPO code for it. I'm not sure though.
You can use the gas tank opening as a reference by just looking at it.

I'm not brand loyal as much as I am now "configuration" loyal. I have 2, F150 RCSB's. One a 1997 and the other, what appears to be an "ultra rare" 2019. If I had the money, I'd get a Ram and GM too.
I have a 2018 Chevy Silverado single cab four wheel drive shift in the floorboard I'm about 6'1 and I have plenty of room too I'm about to start hauling logs and wood so I will upload the video on TH-cam

Yes. Short bed is a bit of a misnomer because the “shortest” box was available on the crew cabs, I believe. For the regular cabs, I think this was as short as they came. Correct me if I’m wrong.

The "truck" has been killed in sense. A "truck" now days is just basically a oversized car.
I think the Dakota quad cab was so popular everyone else had to conform.
Maybe it's just the rest of us regular guys that like a V8 engine in front and the Drive wheels in the rear.

Your pickup today is still probably what you paid for it new or almost real close to it. Single cab pickup is and always will be a street pickup or a z71 4x4 off road either way it is the move then and even today. That 1986 is and always will be no matter what year a GEM 💎 even in 2099.
If Chevy or GMC would bring these regular cab, short bed trucks back I'd buy one.
I think they brought back the regular cab standard box for 2022!

Own a 2005 dodge ram 4x4 5.7 single cab. Love a single cab all this quad is just ugly. Ext ok but anything else might as well get a SUV.
Now that I lust a truck and need one they are becoming extremely hard to find. My grand children hate me for wanting one and my wife thinks I want a Colorado. I don’t. I’d better not find one for the right price!
