    Thank you so much, Dr. Lee! Your channel is an incredible knowledge base. I wasn't able to find anything even close to this anywhere else on the web. Your collection of interviews with experienced orthotists and surgeons is priceless. It's helping me to make educated choices with the treatment options for my daughter.

      Thanks Anna! Just passing on what I've learned when researching my son's scoliosis treatment options. I'm glad you are finding the content helpful. :)

    I would add that pain in adults with scoliosis is not the only issue. The progression of the curves that leads to pressure on the organs and decrease of pulmonary function is a major thing to worry about. So, slowing down the progression of the curve as much as possible should also be a priority. At least in cases with severe scoliosis.

    Again great content Dr. Lee, thank you very much, hat off from a polish PT. Looking forward to see the outcome date form the study, but I already have a strong thought that these braces will replace cheneau/rigo braces. Seems so much more reasonable to have corrective forces while still maintaining core strength.

      I agree. They are getting some good results. There has to be a balance between static and dynamic bracing.

    Will it be available for adults?

    • @DerekLee
      @DerekLee  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will be eventually but they are focusing on adolescents right now.

      A few adults have tried the Whisper for pain relief from scoliosis. We will definitely work on a version specifically for adults once we have established the adolescent market.

    Hey! Another GREAT VIDEO! I even watched it twice!
    Never heard of it before watching and I will be looking into it for my daughter as an alternative to her current braces (Boston & providence) because her compliance is slowing down.
    I do have a few questions I was hoping you may be able to help me better understand…
    Is the whisper brace most effective within certain degree of curve? And if so, what might that range be? (Example between 20-50 degrees)
    Is it designed to be worn under clothes, or overtop? Do kids typically wear a torso sock/seamless compression shirt underneath the brace?
    Is the design to be used solely on its own or to be used in combination with another brace (and if so, what is the best combination)?
    They also touched on how it can be adjusted to accommodate for growth without ordering a whole new brace…but how much growth does that accommodation fit? Is their a point where the actuators’ height would max out (in inches)? For example, if a child starts wearing one of these braces when they were 8, could they hypothetically wear it until they were 18? Or are there still some limitations and at what point would the new whisper brace be ordered?

      Great questions. It can be worn under or above clothes but I do believe they are working on a slimmer version of the brace. Unlike traditional braces which use the body sock, this brace has fewer contact points so a body sock probably isn't necessary. Bracing Cobb range is the same as traditional bracing. For growth, they change out components like Lego so no new brace is required.

    Hello, do you have any advice for a very mild (but gives me a lot of issues) scoliosis that goes from T1 to T4?.
    I have seen 24 chiropractors and none of them have fix it, they just push, heard the pop and send me home.
    For any help, thank you and have a wonderful Holidays!.✌️

      Consider scoliosis specific physiotherapy exercises by a qualified practitioner. This is an interview that will give you more info:

      High thoracic curves are very difficult to treat with a brace. Dr. Lee's advice about scoliosis specific exercise is likely your best option.

    Would it be possible to have adjustable braces on the spine like orthodontic braces, use the same system but adjustments direct to the spine? Sounds extreme and maybe it is...but as an adult with double scoliosis and kyphosis and leviosis? I'd be game to try

    • @DerekLee
      @DerekLee  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's likely just too complicated right now. However, VBT/ASC are somewhat similar to what you are asking.

      We will eventually develop a brace for adults after adolescents. There is a much bigger population of adults needing the brace and we won't stop until we provide a solution. Please be patient.

    I think we need to think about which is more important during the correction time: mobility or stability. Too much mobility may deviate corrective force.

    • @DerekLee
      @DerekLee  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely it is a tradeoff. But from what I understand, movement is brief and takes effort in brace. The vast majority of the time is spent static.
