With Rise Again, Apocalyptica and Epica are joining forces right before their shared Europe tour in early 2023. The unique timbre of Epica vocalist Simone Simons meets the melancholic yet powerful Cellos of the Finnish Metal outfit. Rise Again is big, dynamic and - for the lack of a better word - epic.

Apocalyptica is a Finnish symphonic metal band from Helsinki, formed in 1993. The band is composed of classically trained cellists Eicca Toppinen, Paavo Lötjönen, and Perttu Kivilaakso, and jazz drummer Mikko Sirén.

Simone our real life Ariel and The Siren in Metal! She is getting better and better with every single year she gets older! I love her beautiful crystal clear soprano voice of any other female vocalist in the world, well Fabienne Erni of Eluveitie/ILLUMISHADE have the same for me ehehe And this collaboration is so freaking amazing!! What a wonderful, delicate but powerful, collab by Apocalyptica and Simone. Those cellos give a nice body for her vocals. After vocals, cello is my favorite musical instrument.

In February, I will see Apocalyptica and Epcia on their European tour. I hope they will also play this song.
Small piece of trivia on the video: The simone part of the video was shot in the USA on a free day of Epica's North America tour. If you pay attention to the video, you will see that Simone is not shown together with the other people on the video because of the separate locations.

I heard the original instrumental back in April, and it was very moving. These new lyrics and Simone's vocals are perfect for how I felt at that moment. It's beautiful. ❤️

@@DashyXDAndDadReacts it is! I noticed that I forgot to specify that I heard it live back in April when I finally saw Apocalyptica again. I was in the front row with my friend; I don't know if Paavo saw me getting emotional, but he gave me a very strong hug after the show as he was leaving, and somehow knew exactly what I needed to hear. I almost cried again at that moment but managed to hold the tears in until I was back in my hotel room. 😅

This is a song from Apocalyptica & Simone Simons (NOT Epica). Epica as a band had literally nothing to do with this. Also it was Apocalyptica who called Simone Simons to invite her as guest singer for their song. Not the other way around :)

@@Censeo Yes you are right about that. It is a little misrepresentation by Apocaliptica in the title credits. It is their song and they invited Simone to sing it. I can only guess why they chose to feature Epica in the title credits of their music video. While even in the video itself they specifically spell out that it is Simone Simons from Epica who is their guest singer. Not Epica as a band.
