I feel like the pro-gamer move with the donations guild is to join it and get your alts boosted through m+ during your trial before peacing out afterwards, or for as long as you can get away with it before a /gkick
tbh I like the guild credit thingy we donate 2 flasks per raid, so depending on the amount of raid that can be reasonable we also see similar concepts in clubs in my area, like the golf club or the glider club, you have to be there for a certain amount of hours of work, or pay up, it's quite a usualy concept in RL clubs and associations to either contribute by work or pay up (which is usually way more expensive) like our gliders club, 200 work hours/year are required every missing hour needs to be payed 100€, so you can either pay 20 000€ a year for the club, or work 200 hours, this allows students and heavy workers to join the club and use the airstrip and lend the gliders
20:00, i did this with achor weed in BFA on a smaaaall server. it worked like a charm. i made 1.5 million in 2 weeks. but its impossible to do on even a decently populated server
Our guild is doing a raidtax just to cover the minimum cost of cauldron and food. The tax is calculated immediately after the raid based on the pulls we did. It's way cheaper than getting your own consumables.
We've had a system that asked to put in two flasks a week, and feasts and cauldrons were provided during the raid, turned out a lot cheaper than bringing it.
No, I don't pay taxes. I am in gdkp's (my guild runs them on our server) as a booster though and they pay me, also paid double for being #1 healer in the group. I bring my own consumes to raid pretty standard in classic/TBC.
My guild actually uses a version of that ticket system. Only it's completely optional as it's essentially just a raffle. You buy tickets 10 - 30 at a set price and then at then end whoever wins gets 50% of the pot while the GB gets the other 50%
Guild raffles are weekly in ESO, but they are not this exclusive or restrict. people try to tweek this structure into a cash grab in MMO's like WoW that don't need it. In ESO they are incentives to contribute to guild capital to buy (because you have to bid on prime guild action house(store) slots) per week to be able to sell your goods in a heavy player traffic area where people will more than likely interface with your guild trader to buy from your guild. If that makes sense in a quick way. Like a business ina high populated city. You have to maintain your guild store's footing in a strong people traffic area to ensure your guild gets good sale and traffic volume. So many scammers see this as a cash grab scheme they can run other MMO's that don't require this kind of economic structure. Trust me. It's needed in ESO.
Not ashamed to say I've made quite a bit of gold selling vendor items (in Classic). Buying copper rods and selling them for 10x markup on the AH. Thing is: they sell? For some reason?
In the Lost Sole story, if the author chose a different fish it could have worked lol. I made around 900k in 3 weeks doing the exact same thing with Elysian Thade when CN opened up and everyone wanted feasts. I think at one moment in time, I had 25,000 elysian thade's sitting in my mail box while I reset the AH price from 25g to 75g. Avg buy price was 33g at the end of it, and avg sell price was 67g or so.
I actually ran a guild 50/50 raffle every few weeks in classic. 10g per ticket max 10 tickets. Then during raid. Would do a roll with amount of tix... That winner gets half the pot. The rest went to guild bank to purchase consumes or epic mounts for people.
Recruiting a tank healer combo isnt that huge of a problem.........we were in need of tanks at the end of legion and recruited a tank couple. Yes a tank couple, a blood dk, and a veng DH.
I don't think having a formalised guild tax is a problem, although I wouldn't call it that. It IS cheaper to do these things centrally, and it's hardly a problem. Just mage sure what your being asked to pay I'd reasonable (either divide or just check if it's working out cheaper than buying it yourself
My guild asked for like 2k from everyone to help pay for extra shade stones and feasts and eventually Vantus Runes. Got us through heroic and worked well.
Im an officer in my guild and we do not pay tax nor charge a tax to anyone. Cauldrons/Feasts are still provided every week for raids. Also seeing how this guild showed that it was on Illidan, as am i, i now want to go searching for it on alts for a little funsies.
My guild does a non mandatory 50/50 draw every month lol. 10k for 1 ticket maximum of 10tickets per person. Half the pot goes to gbank for raid consumes and other half goes to random chosen player.
The thing about all these financial schemes is they are all based on the idea of making sure someone else loses. Someone at the end is always left holding all the fish.
i did the same thing with the fish but i'm holding on. Dimond hands!!! what if they release new recipes in 9.1?? I am not vendoring my fish. My average buy price is 1g 7s because i've been doing this since launch. I moved some of the fish to bank chars like it's fking classic but I will prevail. You might all laugh now but damit I will make a profit i swear!
"No one needs this warning" maaaaan I feel dumb asf cause I did the same thing on my server like 2 weeks ago except I stopped buying after the first 20k fish and ended up vendoring.. sadge
Fiancée left, he started dating the homeless roomie. And of course you had the order of these events backwards... ;) But hey, former homeless lady got epic loot from farming that... /streetcredprops
I feel bad for the gme chick.... I kinda did that once but not nearly as bad... A guy was selling an enchant for like 1k less than it was worth, so I bought them and relisted them thinking I was smart.... But him having made sales just made more and relisted them really cheap, so I bought them.... This went on a few times before I cracked the shits and put them on the AH for a big loss just to tank the prices more.....
The guild with a 'tax' was like... insane... This 'community night' raid group... almost sounds like my guild. We've got a night like that and yeah - strats always get a little weird on that night when people are playing roles they don't usually play and everything goes odd. ;) That said, we don't do any stupid like raider io screenshotting and so on for the guildies. Raider io is for PUGs... if you're doing M+ with guildies you do it with people that you learn to work with as a team so you know going in what other people are good or bad at. Also, this isn't ESO with Trade Guilds (were you need to get money to buy an auctioneer, and only the guilds that bid the most get to use the auction system that week). If you've got a guild asking for donations the proper response is /gquit. And if a guild needs a banking officer... /gquit because that's just too much micro management of things that can be easily handled with setting on the bank and then just moving on to actual important stuff.
I like doing goofy stuff like this. Raiding and M+ is fun, but I like to stop and smell the roses in WoW. Finding those likeminded players is hilarious!
The guild I ran tired to do donations from all raiders cause we provided all prepots, health pots, mana pots, feats and cauldrens...... When we were asking was much cheaper than what it would cost anyone to do it for themselves..... U get like 3 ppl who want to help out and everyone else is a tight ass who wants to get free raid consumables from other ppls contributions That shit in the story tho was rediculous... We just asked for a donation We also had things mailed to the bank officers bank toon tho... It's easier to keep track of who is donating that way.... As ppl put shit in the gbank it pushes the list of who has donated off the screen and U miss donations
Jesus, hardly donations! That's mafia talk. We ask for each raider to contribute 1 flask per raid for cauldrons - guessing that's pretty standard. Without it you'd need 2 or 3 each per night, this way everyone wins.
My guild takes all boe and sells it on AH and in return everyone gets flask, feast, runes, vantus runes, armor kits and oils on every raid. I haven't had to buy a single consumable in all of shadowlands, we even get more then we need so we have extra to use outside of raids. Seems reasonable to me.
@@jeppepeppe22 I probably should have clarified - my guild paid for EVERYTHING the raid team needed and gave 60% cut from the BOEs to the team. Gave a pretty big incentive to do pick up guild BOE farms on non raid days. There was also a rule that you could outright keep the BOE that dropped for 50k payment to the Gbank(or less if it was a cheap BOE). Folks got gear - Gbank got funds - no one every had to worry about consumables. Whole heartedly believe it's how every raid team should be funded.
