tango really is proficient at the game. Eating extra melons while in the minecart. Making sure to pick up every dog treat before running to the freezer to let skizz out so they don't get rats.
8:52 You can fix that! there *IS* a way to stop the items from stacking if they order the same food! items that go into a crafter, even ones that stack, spread out and fill spaces first. You could take the redstone signal off that instead, as it increases the signal strength a comparator takes off of it, letting you read the signals and use that to make your ticks instead.
I love that idea so much and imagine someone accidentally killing their teammate or themself or both with one and then the screaming and chaos that would ensue!!
idk if your cam account can do things in the game but if they can you can sign into it and tame a dog then swap the current bone jovi with the "new" one that way you can play the game and not have to worry about making the dog stand or sit, now that does mean if scar gets feisty with the bone supplier again you'd have to log onto the cam account to make it sit, but ideally that would never happen... right? lol
Since there are only three early game crops, I feel like the best strat is to have one of each crop planted at all times and always in the same spots. That way you can't accidentally run out of potatoes/carrots and don't need to keep checking the type of crops.
Hi tango! Not trying to backseat game just giving tips since you asked for them. As you learned, it’s easy to serve your last carrot or potato, always have one growing so you never have that problem, when you grab one always replant it. In addition, having designated spots for each crop will help with your crop identification issues. If carrot is always on the far left you will always go there for a carrot. Always have potatoes in one of your slots when you leave the farm so you can put them on the fire for skizz. Skizz’s constant dialogue is causing you to tune him out and be late for things like freezers and flood. Have his dialogue be a constant update on what customers need and what you have. He can repeat words like freezer or flood to catch your attention and say NOW to indicate urgency. Swap jobs for one day so you can understand how the other communicates certain info. Hope these tips help!
You and skizz should definitely eat carrots more! It's an easy food you always have on hand, and you insist on keeping it even when your inventory is too full for something important. Should also try to have them in your inventory when leaving between days
@@refillpan Same here, I haven't played legitimately in almost a decade (I'll still occasionally log on to try out some new stuff every couple of updates, but never play for more than 15 minutes), but Hermitcraft is almost the only content I watch online anymore.
Watched your last vid talking with Pearl and etho about adding another upgrade. An upgrade you could get would be to make the cart faster. I feel like the cart gets used roughly by half the players and becomes obsolete when the door between farm and kitchen stays open
I was thinking if he adds powered rails properly spaced along the current line that are only activated with the upgrade than it should speed the rail up with the current track 🤷🏼♂️
@@MikeI08II8tbf if you’re closer to the Minecart in the back and need to go up front for crafting, freezer or an awooga it makes sense to use the minecart. I think with the farm door AND speed upgrades the minecart does become obsolete but that just means the players who do use it need to change their routes and strategy for getting back and forth which is another game element that makes it interesting and allows for different strategies.
It's funny comparing Plate Up to Hungry Hermits. The games are in the same genre, but the mechanical themes are very different: The progression in Plate Up makes for a game about improving your restaurant with new tools, (automation, new appliances, new decor, etc.) while the day to day progression in Hungry Hermits makes for a game about getting better at the job. (more complex recipes, larger hotbar, faster movement, etc.)
2:00:00 You and Skizz need to swap roles long enough to get in sync with each other. I've seen you waste 6 seconds going to the farm when Skizz was nearby and it only would've cost him 2 secs if you proactively ask for help. And he doesn't give enough info to help you with planning sometimes.
I think having a timed door to open for them to run back in after death could help with penalizying death. This timed door will allow a run to be saved but also a run to lose if both people die. If it's a timed door they can step off after walking on it, this would give the respawned player time to relocked up. Having a penalty for death can create large opportunities for players to cluch the day causing peek hype and content. This would make the freezer more scary. Even for the player not in it. Let's say the one not in is still low from there last freezer run, they now have to avoid dying from rats to guarantee their team members safety. I love tangos vibe with skizz. He’s so serious and curmudgeonly with all the other hermits and chat, but he is relaxed and silly whenever skizz is around.
Dead players should only be able tobreturn at end of day. Gives them punishment for death, reward for one player working hard to finish the day, and the dead player has pleanty of time to relock their inventory
I think that’s a good idea. Like ergo thinks they should just end but that’s not as fun. I think if they died they can “respawn” for the next day. I can also imagine the dead player using free cam and yelling at the other what to do or needs done
obly getting back at the end of day is too punishing for the surviving player. overcooked gives you a 5 or 10 second delay to getting back when you die?
Since nobody likes Fiery Furnace, maybe consider rebalancing it by switching the furnace to a smoker and adding a dripstone lava cauldron to the farm instead of dispensing only a single filled lava bucket. The smoker will definitely give them the speed they need to serve cooked foods last second ...but the fuel is something they'll have to get themselves, it stays lit less time, and needs them to order a bucket and manage the source themselves.
Maybe change one of your tutorial room books to have the menus for days 1-8. So many players are wanting to know what new things to expect, so maybe someone will actually read something in there. Bonus if you do it without saying anything to see who notices.
I think Tango was too early with the honey bottles. They weren't going to be needed yet and they were taking up one of Skizz's hotbar slots, which limited his performance. I honestly think that overpreparation killed them.

Since it's so far back by the door, they can't use it to completely avoid damage. They'll be taking damage again by the time they reset and walk to the back to get more meat.
Penalty for dying, what if the bed was behind a door with a timer? So you could return, but not instantly. Could have a window to set spawn without going in room before game start.
Front of House definitely needs more to do. Diversity in beverages, trash and perhaps tip collecting that effects the overall end score for how much collected. And more rats

Just through ofd this too, You can probably make (and I believe you have room in the noodle for it) another upgrade - composter. Basically allow people at the farm to use seeds and melon slices and all other things they don't need to make more bonemeal. But instead of them being able to pick it up, it should instead dispense one melon slice, so you can avoid the issues with people running out of melon
Would it be possible to open the freezer door and the farm door when the day ends so it's easier to leave? I don't think them dying in the freezer after the day is over does anything for the game, but it might be a qol improvement
Welcome to Hungry Hermits. I am afraid we have not opened for the day yet as Tango is still dumpster diving for ingredients, we can offer you a call when we are open for the day, or you can que up outside the door and wait.
9:18 Maybe instead of limiting the rate at which players can serve customers let them serve a customer whenever, but then don’t shoot the armor stand immediately and instead just let it hang out for a second if another customer was served recently? Not sure how complicated that would be to incorporate in to the existing noodles though…
I think that if someone dies they can’t come back in for the rest of that day. I think the person who is still alive has to finish the day by themselves. So you don’t want to die but the game isn’t over if you do
i have a few maybe helpful gameplay suggestions. 1. make it a habit that if you harvest a carrot or potato make sure you immediately plant another even if you dont intend to grow it that way if you walk away you know for a fact you can use whatever is in your inventory without fear of using the last one. edit: you basically said the same thing i typed lol so ignore this tip, i think always having one in the barrel is smart too although a little more time consuming to check barrels in the grand scheme of things. 2. if you harvest a beetroot and pick up the seeds "pot", throw away, the rest of the seeds instead of dropping them that way its easier to pick up what you need of course if you intend to get more than one plant a seed first. I think getting a seed from the wall is instant right? if not disregard this tip. 3. I think you're right it is easier for you to serve the customer that requires a single item from the farm like a carrot or a melon slice and skizz serves the crafted or cooked items. 4. since you have a free hotbar slot at the beginning of the game you could take a bucket with you and fill it after getting bone meal and leave it in the farm until you need it. 5. this is more for skizz but kinda you too since you've put items in the frames before but i think its more value to keep cooked meat and gold items in the frames at the beginning of the game instead of potato's or carrots, etc. which goes inline with tip #3 I also think beetroot is fine in the frames too. 6. I do think after every awooga if you always plan to go long skizz should stand on the farm door plate to let you back in everytime because hes basically right there. If i think of any more ill come back and edit this comment but other than that i think you're killing it in the farm Tango!
1:13:25 tango could give notice with the knocking of the timer was shortened, plays a warning, then feeds to another 10 second timer that if not disabled sends a message to the game end line. Tying the cobweb output to the end of game directly is the problem
I think there should be a minecart at the under the farm that runs at the end of each day. I know Tango mentioned there isn't much room with the bone meal system but if he just covers as much as possible it should be fine. So then you can store farm related things during the day on the ground but you they get removed at the end of the day. This also means during the day when you harvest crops they won't accidently get collected by a minecart.
DOG OWNER SOLUTION SUGGESTION: 1.) Pulse extend the signal from the skulk sensor which should allow you to sit the dog without sending another signal (doesn't matter for others feeding as the feed cooldown is longer than a pulse extension). 2.) The 5 bonemeal from standing the dog up can be trashed on the honor system
Crafter Fix : What if you moved the cabinet above the mud brick wall to the wall between the cauldron & the wall where it is now; there’s a big empty space. Then just make that wall 3 rows or more of mud bricks for item frames. This way you can use the space where there’s 4 mud bricks currently & build a better crafting system to prevent people from storing inside it?
lol watching tango running back and forth with empty slots constantly is hilarious... every time you go through that door, you should be taking items in or out of the farm, even if they are not needed immediately, its such a time sink to wait on the door and not be taking food out or something else back into the farm.
53:00 There's a few cooking games that have their player dies and they just respawn back after a few seconds. I mean the game don't have food bar or health bar. It was instant death. So maybe just let it be the way it is. Once you die, get new lock and continue the game. Maybe add some delay for the door in lobby for death penalty just like the farm door since time is crucial in this game. The existing stuff that drop when you die can be collected back by teammates or if they just let the rats eat it and they'll have rat problem. Let just says lock as a blood splater and you need to clean the mess.
That's my thoughts too. I feel like it's quite the penalty when you die ..dropping all the trash, losing whatever you were doing and having to start over. Even forgetting the locks is a penalty because when you remember you have to run back. I say leave it be! It's so chaotic and so disruptive that if someone does Die on purpose to redo health, good for them being able to mentally adjust and go. It goes against any normal game player mentality to die on purpose. Plus still causes time and mess penalties.
Growing up without consistent access to calculators and importantly being in the game/tech field (math is a crucial foundation to programming/game development). He actually learned patterns and properties to break it down to find the solutions.
Being allowed to drop farm items in the back is definitely required, I know people were throwing around the idea of items frames in the back but it would probably be impossible to go far if you couldn’t stack farm items on the ground.
I kind of wish one of the frustrated sound bytes was unreasonably angry. In a funny way, I don't want people to feel genuinely bad, just throw them off their game a bit. Like bdubs calling colleagues idiots during the boomers era. But it would only work if it was a rare event. It's like a rite of passage if you work in service to have to deal with someone who has snapped. But the game is great as it is and you've already knocked it out the park
YO. What if there's day/night paths and the exits/entrances close when it changes? you could set up a 1-way gate in case it changes while the player is inside, maybe add a clock in the intermediary areas so players are aware about how much time is left between changes. I have no idea what to put in the day path tho 🤷♂
hmmm i wonder if there is way to fit in a "recyling" option for the trash they throw out so wow gold ingots buckets glass bottles meat and such form trash can =)

Not sure how complicated that would be to incorporate in to the existing noodles though…
I'm a baker and these vods are my very favorite background noise lmao
I think that if someone dies they can’t come back in for the rest of that day. I think the person who is still alive has to finish the day by themselves. So you don’t want to die but the game isn’t over if you do
4:25 still pretty sure powering both those droppers instead of just the right one will lead to problems down the line.
30:02 Kno knock - whos there? - Skizzle: *splats*

I shouldn't find this as funny as I do, but that "No, you're actually right" kills me!
i have a few maybe helpful gameplay suggestions. 1. make it a habit that if you harvest a carrot or potato make sure you immediately plant another even if you dont intend to grow it that way if you walk away you know for a fact you can use whatever is in your inventory without fear of using the last one. edit: you basically said the same thing i typed lol so ignore this tip, i think always having one in the barrel is smart too although a little more time consuming to check barrels in the grand scheme of things. 2. if you harvest a beetroot and pick up the seeds "pot", throw away, the rest of the seeds instead of dropping them that way its easier to pick up what you need of course if you intend to get more than one plant a seed first.
I love watching vods
A shower stall that dispences locks to make revieved players fill their slots
You would have to make them unstackable for that
already suggested back in the day
Guys I’ve started dreaming about hungry hermits…the music is constantly playing in my head. I do love to play it while I bake cookies for Christmas
DOG OWNER SOLUTION SUGGESTION:
1.) Pulse extend the signal from the skulk sensor which should allow you to sit the dog without sending another signal (doesn't matter for others feeding as the feed cooldown is longer than a pulse extension).
17:19 What is Tango saying here?
that last run was awesome
oof that finale is so good, very very nice
Tango your math skills always blow my mind away!! How are you this fast?? Are you a computer
he's a Mentat. I'm way too big of a Dune fan....
Growing up without consistent access to calculators and importantly being in the game/tech field (math is a crucial foundation to programming/game development). He actually learned patterns and properties to break it down to find the solutions.
That last run was really good
should put a lama at the farm for inventory
i like how the leaderboard is all with Pearlo
Being allowed to drop farm items in the back is definitely required, I know people were throwing around the idea of items frames in the back but it would probably be impossible to go far if you couldn’t stack farm items on the ground.
Tango is the most patient man alive
ikr? I heard he spent 5 months in a hole putting together some redstone monstrosity
Loved watching you and Skizz!!! What is your kitchen name?
Can't believe tango supports Utah hockey club
I kind of wish one of the frustrated sound bytes was unreasonably angry. In a funny way, I don't want people to feel genuinely bad, just throw them off their game a bit. Like bdubs calling colleagues idiots during the boomers era. But it would only work if it was a rare event. It's like a rite of passage if you work in service to have to deal with someone who has snapped. But the game is great as it is and you've already knocked it out the park
Wonder if Tango is gonna play this with Zed, would love to see that
Creaking will be great for decked out
Just wish they didn't only spawn at night
YO. What if there's day/night paths and the exits/entrances close when it changes? you could set up a 1-way gate in case it changes while the player is inside, maybe add a clock in the intermediary areas so players are aware about how much time is left between changes. I have no idea what to put in the day path tho 🤷♂
@blarblablarblar maybe have redstone open up line of sight for range mobs?
@@Ekipsogel I was thinking that but I think it's super boring compared to creakings
hmmm i wonder if there is way to fit in a "recyling" option for the trash they throw out so wow gold ingots buckets glass bottles meat and such form trash can =)
id be keen to know if your collecting any data for HH, ie games played, items served, anything?
You CAN get replay files you DIDN'T record in "raw" folder of replay_recordings. (even if you chose not to reord in the background)
Just came after watch pearl and etho latest score with 201😂they just beat they own score 160
This was so much fun!!!
TH-cam likes me so much it showed there is 0 likes when I liked and unintentionally called me nothing😊
#Dogs For TangoCam... Pup that boy up
HH VOD time while watching Satisfactory VOD! Yay!
