Played with Todd for 2 years in junior. I knew it bothered him- even back then. Very smart and sensitive dude. RIP.

You made the show I see. Only 2 games but you know how many people have had that dream ? Back when you played for New Westminster every team had 3-4 guys who fought a lot.

This is the most honest and forthright interview about the role I've ever seen. He told it like it is without glorifying the role nor being hypocritical by bashing it...good job and RIP Todd.

Todd Ewen, one of the nicest people you could meet. It's sad he's gone. I think Blues fan would have loved to have him around.

Whoa. This interview was a real eye opener for me with regards to Todd Ewen and how he played the game. I gained a whole new insight to this man and have come away with a respect for him that has honestly surprised myself. Of all of the "enforcer" interviews that I have seen, which is plenty; this interview was the most insightful and educating with regards to what really goes on in the minds of these enforcers. May he Rest in Peace.

I remember his rivalry and "hatred" between Tony Twist. And just like Twist, Ewen was really intelligent and articulate fellow. Surprisingly many of these tough guys are. Rest In Peace warrior.

Firefighting is very similar. I’m not so scared of the fire, but scared of making a mistake and letting down my company.
Continued Rest in Peace Todd. You will always be remembered by many

One time I was watching a Kings broadcast in LA and they had Todd on in between periods and he showed off these little sculptures he made out of hockey tape; hockey pants, sweater, stick, etc. They were so cool looking... and also, he knocked out Probert. As a St. Louisian I've met people who know him and they all said that he comes across as an interesting sort of inquisitive guy. Tony Twist might not like him but Blues fans will always love him. If he had ever knocked out Behn Wilson in the Old Barn he probably would have been elected mayor.

This man was a sweetheart, and being an enforcer was not the right line of work for him, even though he is an all-time great. I wish he were a school teacher! He ended up writing children's books. What an amazing human being. God bless.

CTE would be such a horrible experience to go through. Todd was such an intelligent man and was robbed of a long happy life with his family. I’m thankful that by chance I mostly played lower impact sports like baseball and golf growing up.

I'm just finding out that he had passed right now,and ,as a Bruin fan,it still breaks my heart. He was an NHLer,a small club of men's men, playing the toughest game ever,in an Era of never backing down, and he answered the bell,everytime.Kudos...I'm very sorry to hear that playing that way caused him great bodily injury but he played anyway to protect his friends and teammates...THIS BRUIN FAN SENDS HIS HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF MR.TODD EWEN.......MAY YOU RIP BIG GUY....

Very Very well said by Tony Twist the role of the enforcer. Proactive to put a stop to things before the aggressive play of players on the other team cause injuries/horrible injuries to players on your team, etc, etc, etc. Thank you Tony Twist.
And a very tough job for the person who must fulfill the job of the enforcer and just how quickly management can just turn their back on you in an almost instant - enforcers are humans too, not machines.

It kills me to hear him say it's my job to go out there and protect everybody else. However he only ever get signed to one-year contracts and doesn't even get paid remotely 1/4 of the people he's paid to protect now that is a reason to have a hard life after the fact.RIP TODD...I GET IT! I DID IT......ITS NO LONGER FUN NOR OUR JOB...... now our job is dealing with the aftermath And the emotions that we were forced to stick deep down in our stomachs while we were hired for only a year at a time.
