      Hi Aaron, thanks a lot for all your great videos. I made great use of them as a professional digital marketer :) Can you please answer this question: Hi Aaron! What if the PMAX audience already includes audiences that have already interacted with your business? Do those need to be removed prior to adding a supplementary shopping campaign? it comes originally from @dylanrihan9195 . Would be so kind to mention us in the answer so we got notified when you do? Many thanks in advance. kindly, Diaa.A. Soliman

    Awesome strategy: using both PMAX for targeting new people and retargeting the same with shopping campaigns. Never knew this duo would be so scalable thank you!

    I’m with Krzysztof. We were killing it with smart shopping. With Pax our Road dropped by half. I’ve started a standard shopping campaign, however it’s performing well below the smart shopping campaign at the moment. I’ll unpause the Pam’s campaign and try your suggestions with the shopping campaign.
    Thanks again for your great content

    Aaron, I can’t thank you enough for your content! Community really appreciates you. Quick question: With the performance Max structure do you include shopping within the PMax campaign?

  • @Pryrates
    @Pryrates ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Hi Aaron, thanks for great content. I just done that and already got some impressions. I will be able to tell more in a few weeks. But I do get feeling Pmax is not retargeting enough. With Smart shopping on board we had roas between 1200% 1600% depending on time of the year etc. With Pmax whole last year was just 800% -900% and as you can imagine this was a stressfull year. I had ran multiple Pmax campaigns with daily spend around 200GBP. At the moment running 1 campaign with many assets for different type of products/ranges is not doing any better, but only been up for 2-3 weeks. I will give it next few weeks and we will see I gues. Think Google has done a lot of damage to some businesses when forced them to switch to Pmax. I know Pmax is great, but it's costed us two times more than smart shopping, and I'm not a newbie I believe. Anyway, Thanks.

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct about PMax not retargeting to the same level as Smart Shopping. This is the trend I saw and is why I tested this strategy.
      Hopefully this strategy will help you get back above 1200%

      @@AaronYoungGoogleAds I have one question. If I have product Category "A" and "B" in my Performance Max campaign and I woul like to implement suplementary PLA should I implemet to this shopping campaing those same category as in Pmax ? I mean "A" and "B".Or maybe I ought to implement whole products list to my Shopping suplementary campaign? Im asking because I have already Shopping catch_all with low priority.

  • @FakhriAshour
    @FakhriAshour ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video. just a note about the priority, and correct me if I'm wrong please, if you set the priority to high, the priority anyway goes to the smart campaign, in this case the Pmax

  • @frankstowerdeal
    @frankstowerdeal ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Good thoughts, Aaron. Similar Audiences (similar segments) are going away this summer and for Shopping campaigns, Google says employ Smart Bidding and PMax (because PMax has built in similar audience logic built in). Doesn't really change your strategy, it will just reduce one of your audience targets later this year. Keep up the great work, Cheers

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds

    Hi Aaron - Great Video! Just a question - in a previous video you said not to use Feed Only PMax - and this says to combine PMAX & Shopping. I have ecommerce sites using Standard pMax - 12% spend is going to Non-Google Shopping and isn't as profitable.
    Would I be better off removing the Assets (is this possible) from PMax to make it Feed Only (keeping the history) or Setting up new Shopping Campaigns? - Thanks

    Hi amazing strategy - with shopping/search campaigns with negative keywords you want to add should you add broad match if you don’t want your add to show for any specific word? I set phrase match and still showing for the word “cream” for example when I don’t want any search term that has the word “cream” to show my ads at all cheers 🍻

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video! Just an observation. This sounds like a more expensive campaign because you need separate budget for PMax and Shopping. Question: Why is it that PM does not use ROAS as the bidding strategy?

  • @XavierOrtega2
    @XavierOrtega2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Aaron! Just to make sure I understand correctly... the Shopping campaign should be a "Standard" shopping campaign? Or a Max Perfomance Shopping campaign? (I see both options when creating a Shopping type campaign)

  • @bluejaymusic6570
    @bluejaymusic6570 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Aaron, thanks for the great content as usual! Would you recommend setting up Standard Shopping campaigns instead of PMax given the ability to tailor keywords? Maybe I'm old school, but I've found Standard Shopping can outperform Smart Shopping & PMax if you frequently optimise.

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes this can definitely work, I still have some accounts that are running on standard shopping (with no PMax) and they are performing really well.
      I did switch the majority of my accounts to having PMax as the core campaign but that because their shopping campaigns were starting to decrease in performance

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  ปีที่แล้ว

    • @lakshyamananjaiswal1137
      @lakshyamananjaiswal1137 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AaronYoungGoogleAds I do actually! But isn’t final URL expansion meant to influence DSA targets in PMax?

  • @rasensaenundrasenpflege580
    @rasensaenundrasenpflege580 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Doesn't this violate the Google docu? Also the account support told me that it is forbidden to have a product in several campaigns. Your strategy would only work, if i remove the product which is performing well from the pmax campaing... but then I am missing out on all other channels e.g. discovery ads and so on.

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rasen, it’s not forbidden. And that is why if you want to use this strategy you need to make sure that you have changed the campaign feed priority to HIGH. This then communicates to Google that for Shopping ads you want your ads from the shopping campaign (not PMax) to show.

  • @finnbecker6584

  • @RaeesMoosa

    Hi Aaron, I have a client account with a small budget.
    To my understanding a performance max campaign will show ads to any keywords that Google finds relevant, even if it's not relevant in reality. While with Shopping Campaigns, I could use negative keywords to prevent unwanted clicks or promote Long-tail keywords, basically finding higher intent. Thereafter using performance max as a remarketing campaign.
    Am I thinking about this incorrectly? or could it prove to be a more efficient way to only bid for better keywords and retarget better audiences?
    Please let me know your thoughts.
