Don`t tie yourself in a knot !! That being said, i am considering to replace the brown main rigging with Amati 1 mm black on the Sovereign.... I am interested on your thoughts.
@@g-kip I have used the Amati on a previous model, The Uniquehorn from the animated movie Tintin. That model is just slightly smaller, and It came with the model. After discovering that is was actual Amati rigging, i am pritty sure i will be fine with it. Even tho it may not be like the rigging Olha uses. Besides that i think the black will look better. Not sure about the ratlines, i might make those black also, 015 mm.
I know Olha does use a ropewalk to achieve the right thickness yes, but i seem to recall her mentioning a certain brand in 1 of her posts... I would have to look it up.@@g-kip And yes, the black would be for the standing rigging in my build, and beige for the rest. I read somewhere that the standing rigging ( is that the correct term? ) is treated with tar to enhance its durability, in crucial places. Hence i think black would suit better.
I'm seeing so many tools I am going to need. If my wife asks why I'll say G Kip made me ;) What sort of drill bit were you using?
Haha, im always in trouble with my wife, I might as well be in trouble with yours too, LOL. I use Microbox HSS twist drills

Im going to be using both black and beige on this build, the black in two different thicknesses. Olha makes her own I believe.
