- hi! welcome to a vlog of moving, my first week living in Toronto, reading subpar books (but at least reading again!) and exploring the city a little bit - it's been super overwhelming but in a good way, there's so much to see and do and I am so in love with the big lake :')

I got all teary eyed when I saw the Toronto skyline. I miss that city, especially the people. I hope it will treat you kind as well. Although I understand your pain about apartments--Toronto apartments are small and expensive. But you've got a lot to enjoy. I don't know how London was, but Toronto is super friendly for vegan/gluten-free diets. One of my former colleagues from Australia, who is celiac + is allergic to eggs and has lactose intolerance, literally started crying (tears of joy) because she never used to have so many options for eating.
Love spending my Sundays here with Emma! 🥰 The place looks great! I’m sure it will get all cinnamony cozy emmafied! 😊 also yay for a bit of balcony space for URBAN CITY gardening! 🍅🪴🌱

I don't know how you do this but every time i watch one of your videos it just makes me excited about reading and makes me appreciate reading and books in my life and now it makes me want to explore my city more - a city I've lived in almost all my life and don't particularly like tbh- and now i want to go and seek out new things and cool spots even here. Emma! You should go visit one of the BMV bookstores downtown! They have literally everything and it's ridiculously affordable bc they buy discontinued editions in bulk. And you can sell any books you don't want too and get store credit :)
When I travel to Toronto for work, I always try to leave room in my suitcase for a BMV visit - the bookstores in Toronto are fabulous

I really love Kerstin Gier's YA books, I always read them to my mom and her fav series from her is actually the Dream a little dream one. I'm always a little protective of Gier's books when people read them in English because I think her absolute strong suit is the writing style and the atmosphere and I'm not sure it 100% translates but that may just be me being protective of my nostalgic favs 😅 I think the series is worth continuing though!
Also, loved this vlog and glad Calcifer is adjusting so well to the new environment! Hope you feel just as home ☺

After watching this video I started want to live in Canada. I love big cities, and the view of your window is just amazing especially at a nighttime.
It's freezing cold where I'm living now, and watching something so summery makes me feel and remember that there is not just winter but someday can be really warm again. I really love wintertime, but not when it's cold even in the apartment. And I think weather in Canada very similar to Syberia. 🤔
So thank you for the piece of summer, now it's warmer not outside but inside ☀

So sad, that you didnt love Dream a little Dream. I read the series a while ago, when I was younger and I loved it so much. I live in Germany, so Kerstin Gier really was kind of an essential part of my childhood😆Personally, I preferred the Siver Trilogy over the Ruby Red Trilogy, since that deals a lot with time travel and I kinda have a hard time enjoying that in books. But I am already excited to hear your thoughts on Ruby Red, hopefully you´ll enjoy that more.☺Btw, there are also movies of the Ruby Red Trilogy but the books are definitely better. Toronto looks so nice! I've never been to Canada but would love to one day. I also feel the same way about my birthday. One time I forgot until my mom reminded me. I was having the roughest year of my life because I was in college and homesick. I made waffles and watched movies all day. I hope you had a good birthday. All the best.

Thanks for thinking of me..you have a great channel..i grew up half a block from a library and frequented will older brother sister.i started kindergarten a year early. We are privileged to live in countries with easy access to books.the older I get the I appreciate reading. I had classmates with undiagnosed dyslexia. Some have lived tragic lives not being able to simply fill out job applications or self educate thru extensive reading and reflection..so enjoy your new surroundings and treasure the gift of reading...its truly a precious thing...gods speed!!!😃😃😃😃😃
