I compared this to the Golf 7 R DSG acceleration video of AutomannTV. I didn't expected, but they have exactly the same acceleration! That's really nice of the Alfa, with 55HP less.
skycrap bro are you fucking blind?? The golf R hits 100 in about 4.5-5 seconds but the alfa does it the 6 seconds range, the GOLF R does 0-200 in 17 seconds while the alfa does it in fucking 20 seconds, i guess you watched the GTI video because that car with 30 horsepower less and still as fast
@@danielr.8345 well, I am a german and bought an Alfa 159 because I was fed up with fighting rust on my German cars. Surely because I maintained and cleaned them very well there was no visible rust from the outside but underneath they all rusted to an extent, the E46 facelift and W203 facelift and the E90. The W204 was much improved but mounting points on the control arms on the rear subframe rusted away resulting in a horribly unstable rear. I then bought an Alfa 159 and it only suffers from minor surface rust on the front subframe, the body is completely rust free. If you look at w203 lower seam where the side panels are welded to the underbody (you'll have to look beneath the covers though) I think you will find that the rust problems are pretty bad for a modern car. I was to be honest truly shocked by it because I always thought mine was rust free on the body. So at least in the current and previous decade I think what was previously surely true (eventhough merc w202, w201, w124, w126 also rusted badly the italians at that time were even worse) has completely turned around. Also the maintanance costs were pretty high, for example my four-banger w203, admittedly driven very very hard just like all of my cars, cost me about 700Euros per month (that's even more in dollars) in spare parts alone, with me doing all the work. So for me the Alfa is alright in regards to build quality and reliability, the only thing that I miss is (that is on the 159 model) rear-wheel drive for good old powerslides. It does have a good handbrake though... XD

With it being naturally aspirated it is an engine that needs to be revved to get power, but it is very enjoyable to take it to its 7,000 RPM redline. The 2.2 JTS does suffer from timing chain issues (its based on the GM Ecotec L61 Block from which it inherited those), now if you do your own work you can fix that relatively cheaply, as the expensive cam gears do not always need replacement. If you dont work on the car yourself then I would not recommend that engine as the cost to remedy that at a dealership is in excess of 1000Euro, probably slightly different where you live but high nonetheless. I would also look out for the front Subframe, on some of them the old predudice is still true, however the body usually is totally rust free. I have to say though that something like the W203 C-Class is a lot more fun to drive because it is so much better balanced at and over the limit during cornering and feels a lot lighter especially at the front. But quality wise I think the 159 is far ahead. 2.2 can be troublesome like any engine, but if you for example find one where the timing chain has already been done then that would also be an alternative perhaps
@@mriphone98 No, TBI is the 1750 one which produces 235/240HP. The MultiAir is only the 1.4 TB variant, which boasts 170HP. MultiAir is a module that sits on top of the engine, which 1750 hasn't got, it's another engine.

to get pops and bangs you would need a tune as this car doesnt have a overrun from the factory. But a good aftermarket exhaust would be the Ultersport Exhaust with a valve! valves closed it sounds better than stock but its still quiet and valves open it reaches around 98 decibels and does really nice TCT shift noises.

Because of the AWD I compared the 100-200 times, not the 0-100/0-200 times, because that is unfare and also not interestering in real life.

to get pops and bangs you would need a tune as this car doesnt have a overrun from the factory. But a good aftermarket exhaust would be the Ultersport Exhaust with a valve! valves closed it sounds better than stock but its still quiet and valves open it reaches around 98 decibels and does really nice TCT shift noises.
