      In my college, this video would take a whole 50-minute period, interspersed with personal anecdotes of the teacher's construction work days, and finally, only the correct application of the calculation of the exact forces would be the only thing tested for.
      And that... Is rather frustrating.

    I had to laugh at this!! lol I was the eng. supervisor for many culvert installations over 30 yrs and saw construction crews do everything wrong that you showed here! From dumping on culverts to driving over them before they had enough fill... they did it all. Many times they crushed them and had to replace them at their expense!

      Edek Layski if a construction company doesn’t have the expertise to install it correctly, why the hell are they bidding on the job? At the very least send an RFI to the design team to clarify any questions.

    Using the marbles demonstrated how these sorts of bored holes work VERY well

  • @ArgondtheGrey
    @ArgondtheGrey 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    you really should be using a smaller grained material to backfill, based on the size of your model structures, you are effectively backfilling with boulders. Not very realistic, try with aquarium gravel, you may get different results.
    I for one would be interested to see the results.

    • @ratchet1freak
      @ratchet1freak 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      build the tunnel wall as you go, this is what tunnel boring machines will do.
      Even when digging manually (for mines for example) you remove a bit then reinforce the wall then dig further.

    • @buddyclem7328

    0:13 r-o-u-t-e-s is pronounced "roots" or "rutes", and refers to paths.
    "r-o-u-t-s" is a completely different word which refers to great damage. it's also a woodworking term.
    and, no, they are NEVER pronounced the same way.
