  • Facebook Rooms: How to use them
    This episode is focused on Facebook Rooms on the iPhone.
    Do you remember when Facebook bought Instagram back in 2012? Here's another revelation for you . . .
    Facebook has launched its latest video conferencing feature, Messenger Rooms, which allows up to 50 people to video chat. They are ready to compete with services like Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, as more people turn to video chat during coronavirus lockdown.
    Basically, it's almost like going into a zoom meeting where you can do it strictly from your app. When you grab your smartphone, you can easily open the messenger app, tap the People tab at the bottom right of the screen, and tap Create a Room.
    Once you do that, you're going to see different options, and once you're done creating an activity, you'll see who's invited. Did you know that you can pre-schedule it so that people are notified of it beforehand? This is an incredible option for many people who are at home right now.
    I was on a live stream yesterday on a virtual event with some great influencers like Mike Dillard, a famous marketer in the space. And somebody had asked, "Could you actually record these?" And by doing the research and testing it out, it looks like that you can click the start broadcast option.
    Once you've done that broadcast, it gives you the option to record so you can download after the broadcast has ended. Once you start broadcasting, you can also remove and prevent any notifications coming in to disturb you while you're online in this room.
    What's cool is it populates a link that you can share out. Let's say you forgot to invite some people, and you have this link that pops up. You could copy and paste the meeting link and then put it in messenger if you'd like to, which means you can always add someone even during the actual session if you forgot to send them an invitation or remember them on the spot as you are speaking.
    In this episode, you'll learn:
    • How to utilize Facebook's Rooms whether it's for personal or business

    Thanks Tamara! This is very informative and I'm sure I'll replay it many times to get the hang of it. Once I've recorded the call, will I be able to share it PRIVATELY with my room or group?

    Can you still go through a program like OBS while hosting a room live?

    • @broadcastyourauthority
      @broadcastyourauthority  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, in OBS use the Virtual Cam and you can set up that option and connect it to Facebook Messenger Rooms. It’s the same with Ecamm Live too, streaming from the virtual camera option within the settings.

    How do you record?

    How do you record it? Is it like LIVE where it has a share button?

    • @broadcastyourauthority
      @broadcastyourauthority  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Messenger Rooms can be used both on smartphone and PC. The host will be able to lock or end room, remove participants, and even share screen just as Zoom. ... Messenger Rooms also allows you to record the entire call by clicking on the Start broadcast option.

    Can you stream into facebook whilst in the room?

    • @broadcastyourauthority
      @broadcastyourauthority  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, as a room creator, you can broadcast your room to a Profile, Page or Group, and invite people to tune in. ... All the room participants will receive a notification inviting them to join the live broadcast and will have to opt in to participate. They can also choose to leave the room before it goes live.

    This video is painful. Really. The words "actual or actually" 24 were used times! The word, "like" was used 20 times, with only three of them being legitimate use of the word. Somebody seriously needs a Thesaurus. Cute girl, but as an English teacher, this is terrible.

      First, I’d like to thank you for watching the whole video! You helped the watch time of the video by doing so. I’ve always been taught to lead a conversation with gratitude. We go a lot further in life by treating others with kindness. I know my strong points as a CEO of an entire successful business vs someone lurking on TH-cam behind no photo, were you having a bad day to bully on the internet? Aren’t English teachers meant to teach vs belittle? 🤔

    • @Softgyalera
      @Softgyalera ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure wouldn't want you teaching anyone I know...I hope you don't teach children! Because that was very mean and uncalled for. For you to take the time out to count all that says you have way too much time on your hands! Teach yourself some manners and class while you're at it👌🏾

      You should try it. You could have team members in a Facebook room if you wanted to try it rather than a zoom meeting, etc. It’s just another platform option.
