There is good reason for the strict road rules when you realise that on a per capita basis you are twice as likely to die in a car accident in the U.S as in Australia.
When I moved back from Melbourne, to Perth in 1980, the population was still like that of a large country city with high peak hour traffic on the freeway being less than the volume of traffic on a Sunday late morning today. The limit back then was 110ks. I was 22 and driving a bit over the limit and a cop car came up beside me pacing me. The very fact that I noticed any car pacing me at my passenger window, goes to show how little traffic was present on the freeway, as every car was either behind or ahead or passing in those days. Any way I looked across and a cop was grinning at me, he waved his finger at me as though at a naughty kid. I looked at my speedo and realised Iwas 5 k over the limit so immediately slowed down getting ready to pass across behind him and stop in the emergency lane for my ticket. However he just kept cruising along into the distance! Just a friendly warning.☝️😏
Pretty accurate but uni degrees vary 3-5 years depending what you are studying, tipping isn’t required in Australia because hospitality workers get a decent minimum wage are paid overtime, if full time get paid leave, sick days with pay etc so service is decent
She needs to learn a bit more about her country. Yes there is some open bush, but we also have rainforest and fresh water crater lakes in the north. As in extinct volcano craters. Wineries, a coffee plantation, a choclatier and a tea plantation, don't forget bundy brewed drinks and the bundy rum factory. Yes we have snow, ski resorts in the south, both NSW and VIC. And 2 huge wine making valleys, one near Sydney, one closer to Adelaide And white silicone sand beaches, on the whitsunday island group. More than one island in a group. We have mining for gemstones with underground homes and a pearling industry.
In the year 1999 l worked in a woolies wearhouse it was called safeway then. l got $ 500 for 1 night.but it was new years eve .and l was with an agency that they get workers from.so the pay is higher.
TIPS is actually the acronym for “To Insure Prompt Service. It was always given upon entry similar to what you see in Mafia movies. The “S” in TIPS isn’t the plural. If someone asks for a “tip”. Give them a piece of advice to go educate themselves.

Been to the States in1992 that was enough for me. Not hard to be nice in Australia we live in paradise.
