I passed first time today with 3 minors. I wasn't a natural, It took me 67 hours of lessons and extra practice to be ready for the test. Such a great feeling to have passed. Thank you for the videos, they've been so helpful.
67 lessons over a span of how many weeks/months?
This is why learning to drive should include basic mechanical lessons on the car so the student understands mechanical sympathy.
That would just be way too over complicated for most. The test in itself is hard enough that most already passed mechanics would probably fail of they had taken it again.
In portugal we do have basic mechanical lessons
@@claretblue2509 The test isn't hard, you just have to drive safely and comfortably. The difficult part for most people is the nerves and anxiety of doing the test. Learning to drive should include basic mechanical instructions as they can be very beneficial in helping you understand why different styles and techniques can assist or strain your driving.
Instructors aren't the same now. My instructor before I passed made sure I treat the car with care before I proceeded to do my lessons. Worked like a charm. Never broken a car.

We need a driving lesson in Erin’s car! I’m really curious if she’s better or worse in it, and if it actually has a Rev counter. I’m also interested in clutch control in older cars.
Surely it has a rev counter. I've never seen a modern car that doesn't have one... And as for the clutch thing, she said she burnt her clutch out, got a new clutch, and continues smelling clutch burn. Something tells me she'll need another one very very soon. Honestly awful driver :/ nice girl, but awful driver 😂😂

@@AdventuresWithEllieC1's don't have a tacho? It was thinking it'd be like a Chevy Spark, which has one, but it's not a needle dial it's an electronic display like you'll see on some motorbikes, and she's not realising what it is.
@@quartzlump Nah the last gen C1, Aygo, and 107s don't have the rev count - it's an optional extra at the time of purchase that comes out on a separate stalk but obviously with them being budget cars, most didn't opt in for them. I feel her pain as an aygo driver myself! But it doesn't take too long to learn to hear the revs for moving away since it lacks pretty much any sound insulation!

Six weeks after passing her test, Erin is already letting bd habits creep in. As Amen says, driving rules like mirrors, speed limits etc aren’t just to pass a test, they are they for safety reasons.
Not a single person doesnt have a bad habit or another.
@iamaduckquack yeah but they're normally developed over years with experience. Not 6 weeks after passing your test and ruining your clutch within that time frame too.

@st3pn56 not really, my understanding is she'd be told several times through her lessons to stop over revving and holding the clutch. It was a bad habit she formed while learning and it cost her in her first car 🤷♀️

Erin needs to learn to stop coasting when braking and coming to a stop. Some feedback to give. She will soon chew through her brakes. Brake with clutch up and go down the gears if necessary, only putting clutch down just before coming to a stop to prevent stalling the engine
As others have said we need a spin off series with Erin on her car journeys just talking about her life as she's brilliant and hilarious.
It's somewhat scary that this lassie has her licence. Nothing is her fault, it's a 'stupid' roundabout, a 'stupid' clutch, a 'stupid' junction... She's a danger. She was clearly on her 'best' behaviour here and scared the shite out of me with her recklessness and lack of awareness.

I agree, but it seems to be an occurrence with very young drivers now days with a complete lack of awareness or need to take accountability for themselves in order to improve their behaviour, awareness and selfishness on the road.
@@EmbeeyinDon’t make it a ‘back in my day it was better’ thing, young people have always been reckless.
It’s well documented, hence why insurance is more expensive for young drivers. The more experienced she gets, the more she’ll become aware of how little she actually knew. It’s just part of life, almost all new drivers are bad, it’s once you have the freedom to make your own mistakes you realise the importance of driving responsibly
Many years ago, after my brother passed his test in London, I sourced a used car for him. Within a month, the clutch had failed. I felt responsible as I'd checked the car over, so put a clutch in it for him.
Once done, I asked him to road test it with me in the car, to see what he might have been doing. He used the clutch pedal as a footrest, and was adamant that he was taught to cover the clutch at all times. I explained to him that it might be OK in constant traffic, but not generally. He understood, luckily.
Did the clutch ever give out after that?

I've followed Erin's journey from the start and its seriously beaut to see her more confident and driving in "the real world" and not learner world... such a lovely and down to earth girl that says it how it is!

Look at her face in thumbnails when shes teaching guys vs when she's teaching girls. Complete difference in demeanor. In fact she's a little condescending in the videos themselves, and the faces she makes in mock tests asw when a guy makes a mistake vs a girl. The coin flips both ways

Erin's a really cool person but the lack of awareness in this video is insane, especially not checking mirrors/blindspots when changing lanes on a roundabout. I'm not trying to hate on her, but a full license holder shouldn't have these problems anymore. Don't really know how she passed her test to be honest
this gives me faith that if erin can get her liscence and still drive with this many errors that i may one day also be able to get mine lol

This lady, no matter how nice as everyone keeps mentioning, certainly is too much of a risk on the road to have a valid full licence. It's a danger to herself and others. Clearly got lucky with a pass, but this video demonstrates she's still in need of much learning before being a trustworthy road user. I hope she will acknowledge her issues and nuckle down on the areas she's lacking in
That's why people say the real learning happens after you pass. Instructors get people test ready but after that the learners have to apply the skills and practice in their own vehicle etc.
Hopefully Erin keeps practicing and starts drive in a safer manner ❤
@@TinyPigy282the most dangerous part is her attitude. She just doesn't understand when she's in the wrong or really see why what she does is so dangerous. She drives with ignorance and entitlement.
I'm not bashing her as a person but these attributes are so dangerous and toxic to have on the road . It also means she's unlikely to learn things herself because she doesn't take accountability very well so if she doesn't see that she's making mistakes how can she learn from them?
my sentiments exactly, after watching this, its clear her license should be revoked ASAP, driving at speed in meeting situations, smiling right after cutting a corner and admitting to doing it often in her car.. like c'mon
On that note, most people won't be driving in general, I guess only 10% cars would be on the road if everyone who got a license was PERFECT. She cares to learn...that's wayyyyy more than a good lot of well experienced drivers on any road honestly.

The best part of these videos is your ability to recall all errors made over an hour or so and to explain them in a friendly, calm manner.
Started this video happy to see Erin was back and by the end of it was completely annoyed by her. She doesn't want to admit when she is wrong and only agrees to appease Aman. It's a question of when, not if, she will seriously hurt someone the way she is driving, and even if that doesnt happen she will damage her car at some point.
Erin listen to the qualified instructor and the questions she is asking you. She is doing it so you can be safe, not just for the hell of it. Also dont just follow other car users, they might be clueless, and even if they are doing what is right for them at that moment in time, it might not be right for you to do the same thing as you're in a different position on the road.

Poor Erin, i passed 3 weeks ago and i was driving home from work and my car wouldnt stop beeping didnt know why started panicking, door wasnt closed properly 😂 didnt realise till 3 days later thats why!
this was like in the early days when i passed i thought there was an issue with my brakes as i had a light on the dashboard, later realised i was driving with the handbrake still slightly on😂

Don't do that too many times or your parents will get fed up and make you pay for new clutches instead! Getting an automatic actually made me enjoy driving again, that's just my personal preference now.

3:12 - my Citroen c1 didn't have a rev counter. I spent £40 on a digitial rev counter connected to the OBD port. Works really well on any car, and i can time my 0-62mph figures as well, as well as see my exact revs as a digital value on the rev screen.
it's like she doesn't have any intention of fixing her mistakes she is blames other drivers and passengers for her mistakes and dismisses that it was her mistake hope she acknowledges her mistakes seriously and learn from them.

It might sound silly 😜 but when anyone passes their test i wouldn't recommend putting the pass sticker on the car, i feel people will get angry 😡 if you stall or are slow moving off they'll put pressure on you beeping or getting right behind you. 😮

I think sometimes it’s difficult to switch cars. So if you have learnt in a pretty new car then most people get a fairly used one it takes some getting used to.
I passed in a similar car in June so I have found it easier. Xx
I passed 6 months ago and recently broke down on my way to work and yes the clutch had burnt out and I’ll never forget that clutch smell! The RAC guy said it’s often the case with new drivers. Now had a new clutch fitted which cost me £500 and have hopefully learnt from my errors!

Her attitude stinks, if it's not bravado. The pedestrian had right of way, that's why she should give way. She'd have more confidence if she tried to anticipate & take control instead of letting situations take control of her.

It’s really sad to see people aim to just pass the test, quickly shed the rational driving approach and pick up bad habits. As an instructor Aman might giggle but deep down she isn’t happy.
Erin’s driving standards are falling. I recently passed my test this month after a long wait (due to covid and all), and went through same phase to relax and pick up bad habits.
I took a pause and didn’t drove for 2 days (against my nature) and told my self - I learned to become something better. I will stay focused and still keep learning to drive logically.
The adrenaline is high after you pass. But step back and gain your control, else ramifications would be undesirable.

The clutch is burning more so like you say because of lots of hill starts or maybe using it a lot in heavy traffic to creep forward, or if you sit there balancing the car stationary with the clutch to avoid rolling back rather than just going handbrake and neutral
