Great question and one that i am not sure of either . I am allowed because the building owners , property managers etc give their permission to do it . Sometimes it is me and sometimes the building engineer who does it . I dont have any specific training or certifications from the manufacturer . All i have is my Journeyman Sprinklerfitter certification from my Provincial authority .So i dont believe you need any to just shut it off . You do need certification to do actual work on the fire pumps for alignments , yearly inspection etc . There is also ASTT certification to do that as well as training from the manufacturers . If anybody else would like to comment on their jurisdictional requirements please do so .
The people who do have the training to commission , align and certify are in high demand . You dont need to be a Sprinklerfitter to take the course offered by the manufacturer.
Thanks
Great video!
Do I have to have to have any certification or training to shut this off
