      Not sure what you are asking for - are you struggling to arm the model?

    Once you Calibrate the plane with mission planner, we don't have to do it again when using another computer that has mission planner firmware???

    • @Painless360

      Correct.

      That means the Mission Planner ( online firmware/ free download) registers the plane ( UAV/ FPV in the system database)
      The PixHawk the code ? For Mission planner to register it

      According to " breaking my long range FPV Distance" - utube you can lose telemetry but still accomplish an autonomous flight. The PixHawk will use satellites to accomplish the waypoints
      My questions
      Is possible to prolong a long range flight by simply changing the batteries. ?

      Check out my Pixhawk build series and the excellent documentation - ardupilot.org/copter/docs/radio-failsafe.html. The stuff you are asking about is potentially fraught with extra considerations so doing your homework will help you avoid problems..

    My understanding is the the 'Onboard' magnetic calibration is superior. I see you demonstrating the older technique. Also, to calibrate, my understanding is that you just have to hold the model for 2 seconds or so in each orientation (like the accelerometer steps (up, down, left side, right side, etc). This is MUCH easier than the previous technique which is gnarly with the cord. I used this technique on my copter and it seemed to work quite well. Am I missing something? BTW - Lovely video series!

      Both work well. I used the method that's worked for me since the early days of APM and the method that the professional PixHawk 2.1 pilots I know have also used successfully used too since it's release. Thanks for the note as others can find it here. If it becomes something I need to cover in more depth I can make a whole video on it. Happy flying!

    Great videos!!, what would you recommend, PixHawk 2.1, or PX4, since 3DR is not producing them anymore?, this is going to be my first attempt to assembly a fixed wing, thanks again!

      sorry, when I said PX4, I meant PixHawk 2.4.6 version

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty much all of the older Pixhawks will be clones now so you 'pays your money and takes your chance'. PixHawk 2.1, that I'm doing a series on now, is a product made and sold to support the project..

      I see, and I agree, I'll be doing the same, I want to put my little grain of sand :). I was looking at arduipilot.org to get my 2.1, hopefully flying soon, thanks a lot #Painless360 !!

    I see you got the power brick mini, how do you get the current to show? Many people seem to have issues with the current reading... what are your values (amperes/volt)?

    Hello, I saw this video and said "I want a pixhawk 2.1"
    Now that I have one I am having difficulty with the compass!
    When calibrating, compass3 does not appear. Neither in the sphere of axes nor in the bar that grows. Is it in the GPS module? I did not turn on the GPS.
    At the end of the calibration compass1 appears in green.
    The compass2 appears in yellow and gives very different results from those of compass1 !!!!
    The compass3 appears in red.
    Can you help me and explain what's wrong?

      @Painless360  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure, all the steps that I followed are in the video. I'd give the vendor a call, the PixHawk 2.1 support should be available from there if you're stuck (also handy in case it turns out to be a HW issue and needs returning).. Best of luck!

    Have you had much chance to get it in the air yet? How is the 2.1? I know you got it for review but what's your thoughts. I'm especially interested in what you think compared to the Vector now you have one. I realise the two are somewhat different beasts but as far as the common features.. stabilise, RTH etc.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The main flying characteristics are very similar in terms of the basic flying modes. The auto-tune mode on the PixHawk 2.1 is nice, the gain knob setup on the Vector works well too. The big difference for me is how you intend to fly (mainly FPV or not), and how much you need the advanced mission planning ability (mapping, surveying etc.)..

    2/9 flashing firmware, 5/9 flashing firmware, omg how many times you need to flash it :D

      @Painless360  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only once unless in the middle of shooting a series they changed& something fundamental in the firmware that means that the original firmware would have been out of date to show ;)
