Chris Schlenkel: "Walter Ray, one of the great spare shooters on tour." Me: "The BEST spare shooter in PBA history Chris." Edit: 8:20 This is probably the most important thing to remember in bowling competitively. Earl, like Walter, like Duke like Pete. It's what seperated them from the rest. They got their stance, looked at their mark, and just started walking to that target with no hesitation or doubts. You just "go blank." Once you can learn to do that, you'll love bowling even more.
PBA players like Petraglia, Anthony, Roth, Holman, Walter Ray, Duke and Bo Burton made the PBA prosper! Yet, it took ABC & their talented crew too. Others as well of course.
Of what I heard the Bad Blood between Walter Ray and Dave traber was there Dave had stayed up all night working on Walter race car. And the next day Walter turned Dave in for a violation on tour.
Lets stop pretending that Duke shot against Williams wasn't a little high it was and it was coming in at a decent angle so not really that surprising that a solid 9 could happen here. Of course the announcers call it a bad break but the shot was a bit to high on the headpin. Now if it had more speed or had been coming in at less of an angle it likely would have worked out differently.

From what David has told me, part of it is because Trabes left a 7-10 in qualifying. He shot it as David would, hard and lots of loft. WRWJ turned David in for overlofting the ball.
I enjoyed the commercials almost as much as the actual PBA bowling 😊
The Jim Rosenbaum commercial sure brings back a lot of memories!!!
If any man in the history of television was meant to sport a crew cut/buzz cut, it was surely Mark Williams lol.
I was shocked when he appeared on my screen...lmao. Bouffant maximus!!
@@beeemm2578Don’t be jealous because he had beautiful hair & you’re a bald mute!! Jagoffff! 😂😂😂😂💩💩💩💩

all 4 matches were very close. That was a very awesome telecast.
NORM DUKE had 9 titles at that point. He had the necessary drive and fire in his eyes to create a successful career.

39:06....Ouch is RIGHT!!!! :-O
Just an ever so slightly high hit. I had the exact same thing happen to me when I needed a strike for a 700 series on a date with my wife
@@TheToucanCam High flush. Still could have carried.

Walter Ray Williams Jr and Norm Duke have bowled some exciting matches
How exciting were they?
What the hell is it with pro bowlers and their hairdo's? Don't they have friends who can tell them they look ridiculous? And that's coming from ME! :)
the difference in the 4 games were a total of 11 pins
Thanks Captain Obvious

@@MIKIEEYEZ1975 just going by what dave told me, and there used to be a rule for excessive loft. How do you know any of what you just claimed?
