    My weakness:
    1. Public speaking
    2. Express my thoughts
    Here is my plan
Utilize all opportunities to express your thoughts, such as comment in social media to interact with people, take ownership, take initiative of something in your workspace

I have your exact weekness too. I am rapidly coming out of it by this plan. 1. Public speaking: Use Meta Quest vr headset and there's an app where you will be virtually telepoted to large auditorims. you can practice your speech in there... its a next level experience if you have not yet explored VR. 2. Express your thougths: use ChatGPT voice assistance: you will transform if you constantly speak with it, free version is good but paid version is better with current information. with just 2 months of practice i became more vocal, proactive and confidently started expressing my opition with logic ... way to goo

I just took up a leadership position and definitely one of my long time shortcomings has always been public speaking. You know the usuals: presentation anxiety and all it’s shaky knees, heart palpitations and trembling voice. So now I’m in a sort of quagmire. And that’s exactly why I am here, watching tons of videos on the tube about public speaking and improving my leadership skills. Boy am I about to skydive out of my comfort zone and take on this shortcoming headlong. I’m going to continue to constantly learn, improve myself, and do the right things. By the grace of God, I will keep growing to become the leader that I was destined to be. And so be it!

    • @josephcheung3502
      @josephcheung3502 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

If you don’t mind to be a follower, it is always possible to listen to the speeches of those greatest people and catch some of their sentences and phrases they used, to add to your own public speech as the first step. When you have copied enough powerful and influential sentences or phrases, your public speech will be more valuable and attract more attention as a result. Always keep on listen to speeches of great people, they can help you in public speeches. Hope this is useful to you.

    My weakness are probably:
    1-confidence
    2-public speaking
3-how to transfer my thoughts to words. Edit:
One year later my confident definitely improved, didn't practice public speaking. Also, I started writing stories that help improve my last weakness.(note: weaknesses are temporary state you have the choose to eliminate them)

    1) You Must Always Learn & Improve ... All the leaders are leaders improve your knowledge , take courses ... Three Rules for that 1) It doesn't matter where you came from it only matters where you are going 2) If you want your life to get better , first you must get better 3) you can learn anything that you want to learn .
    2) Do less of certain things
    3) start to do those things you aren't doing that you need to be doing for future
    4) stop doing some things all together ... Things which are not useful for your goals
Leadership is more who you are than what you do

My weakness is management of communication and the second is that I should not be so empathetic. My other weakeness is that I always believed that leadership and such videos tried to manipulate others. And teach us how to do. Well they are working as the knife does. They are tools . Learning how to become a more effective leader is is learning how lead successfully your personality at first ,as if you were the pilot of your airplane- yourself, and this creates a huge impact on our lives,.... before changing ourrelationship with the others. I have more. The last one I have is I do not know WHEN is the PROPER time to choose silence ( be silent myself ) - one of the greatest tools...and arts . I have many more. But the rest are combined with gifts so it is more difficult to distinguish at the moment. Thank you for being simplistic and concrete. It helps. You know that ;)

try having small talks with people/strangers in other public environments, like supermarket, bus stop, gym... this will ease your initial anxiety, and you will get better in it, your state will shift. When you learn to change your state, you change everything.

  • @0Xmoon_pandaX0

Thank you Brian, I recently became a shift leader at a Leading Pizza chain, and when I accepted the position I just admit I was woefully underprepared for what it actually means to be in a leadership position. It’s not the job that’s hard, but working on watching people, delegating tasks, managing and identifying situations and seeing where I can fill in and support where needed is something I need to improve. Part of it also stems from not communicating enough or being quiet but I can’t afford to do that. And taking a look and seeing what I’m missing was like a big “WOW” or let me say what I simply need to improve on. I wish you and everyone else watching this video and reading the comment sections the best of luck, you can do it!

    • @mixmasterlandberg
      @mixmasterlandberg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

You will make mistakes. You will also learn from those mistakes. Realize that making no decision might hurt your team more than making the wrong one. You can always circle back and analyze what the impact of your decision was. But before that, the only thing you can do is make an informed decision. Also realize there might not be one correct solution to the issue at hand. This is real life, not a school exam.

As a person who had same problem and is improving I must say to you that
Join social programs wheather it's online of online
You must be wondering i don't have confidence to join programs
You know what JUST DO IT !!
      Don't think that
      I must do something foolish
People will make fun of me
      My voice is bad
Just throw these thoughts and apply
Once you apply just give your best see how people compliment you then
And even if you loose in competitions held there don't be embarrassed angry or whatever emotions
Just remind yourself you did your best and it's a win for you
And say to yourself that you will try even harder next time
      I hope it helps somehow
You can't be perfect at a go
Once you join a program you have to talk to people when you talk to people your communication skills and leadership skills get better and as for confidence you get it along the way
      You can do it!
      Everything is possible!!

@@riellegomez2838 there is lot of books to improve our confidence.
      You can read...
      1. Believe in yourself - by Joseph Murphy
      2. How to develop self confidence and influence people by public speaking - by Dale Carnegie.
Both of the books is very helpful to improve the confidence. I have read both. It's really fantastic , and I hope it will help you too. The 2nd book ' how to which is written by 'How to develop self confidence and influence people by public speaking' is also helpful for communication skills.

Many people simply assume that rising in ranks is the same as being a "leader". A leader will take on a senior role in an organization (sooner or later) but not all senior personnel are leaders! In trainings that I have attended, I have found out that I am already possessing most of the skills a Leader should have, however, I’m a foreign person in America, it’s kinda hard for me to feel comfortable dealing with my staff not because I’m not fluent English speaker but because I feel that they’re already judging me. I can talk all day and have conversations but I have the moments that I feel awkward to mingle with them 😌

    1. Task delegation. I have a difficulty in delegating tasks to my members and be firm with it which in turn, put me in a lot of trouble.
    2. I can't seem to be satisfied with their work. I tend to redo and try my best to fit in this "standard" that I have in my head.
I am still in college now, and I really hope to improve on these two weaknesses before I hop into the working life.

I am afraid to speak up. More than that, I am so scared of being embarrassed. That stops me from expressing myself to others. Even though I have some ideas, I can't speak them in front of others. I feel others might not like them and can laugh at me. Also, I have the trait of doubting my abilities. All these things and more are hindering my leadership capability.

Leaders are listeners. The most successful leaders know to ask questions and not to answer them. Those who don’t rush to give advice are usually the most trustworthy. Those who stop long enough to really listen will invariably give the best advice, if they give any at all.

I feel one of my weaknesses I need to work on is speaking up in meetings. I am more of a listener and take it all in kind of guy. I only comment if I feel it's necessary, but my manager wants me to participate more. This is a weakness that I feel is holding me back from leadership in the work place.

One of my weaknesses as a leader is not reading more literature unless necessary. Every day is learning however, I'm not fascinated with applying myself anymore. I have been in many board meetings, conferences, and huddles no one uses terminologies learned in college and everyone talks about metrics (key performance indicators) for stakeholder profit growth. I even switched industries thinking I was going to be doing my higher calling without the need to worry about revenues and profit. During that time, I had to increase the patient/client sessions that my licensed subordinates performed in order to meet metrics that inevitably had to do with profits. The whole organizational structure is built on profits no matter what industry. I like being a leader to help develop, mentor, and coach my teams to a win, but I wish it solely was for their betterment not based on the buy-in from them to ultimately hit numbers to make board executives and stakeholders happy with profits. I want to say Brian you are very positive and I felt your positive energy. I believe what you have said in your video. I am a visionary and charismatic leader by nature. What I have gathered from your video is a reevaluation of myself to learn why I am still in the rat race with my responsibilities and duties. I guess I like being my own boss only with check-ins from upper-level management. Entry-level positions no matter what industry makes me feel like I am fourteen again pushing the broom and cleaning up spills as a janitor when I wanted to be at the cash register speaking with people like my other classmates of the same age and making customers checkout experience positively rememberable.

    • @jatingirdhar1589
      @jatingirdhar1589 ปีที่แล้ว

How can flexible behavior be a weakness. If you are flexible, it means you are not adamant which is a strenth, nonetheless if it is becoming an obstacle in achieving the targets, it may be a challenge....For example if one of your reportee is regularly coming to office late & still you are flexible, it is a wekness. In that scenario, you may feel the heat of your upper management. Your incement can be stopped; in worst case scneario, you may get fired. Then your flexibility would prove counter-productive. Better judge where you need to be flexible, where you need to take a stand.
